Gorgeous Female Tenants

Chapter 162: You Are the Major Shareholder

Chapter 162: You Are the Major Shareholder

The second uncle and his wife, are here just to watch the show, sitting back and observing the conflict between Gu Xiangyi and Gu Jie over the presidency. Whoever takes the role doesn’t matter to them; they are there for the entertainment.

They’re not entirely neutral, naturally siding with Gu Chengjun’s family. Moreover, Sun Xiaoli has promised them more dividends, as long as Ke Jie becomes president, adding an additional ten percent annually.

Earlier, Aunt Sun Xiaoli, who was expelled from the office, sat on the right side with cousin Gu Jie. Aunt’s face practically mirrored the sky, seething over the earlier expulsion from the office.

Gu Xiangyi felt criticized, forcing a smile: "Grandpa, is there something you need from me?"

Grandpa spoke indifferently: "It’s about the matter we discussed yesterday, regarding handing the presidency over to Ah Jie."

Ah Jie looked at Gu Xiangyi smugly, as if to say, you truly have no ability to compete with me. Everything in the Gu Family is mine, and you’re merely borrowing the presidency for the time being. Whenever I wish, you must return it.

Gu Xiangyi calmed herself down, disregarding those mocking gazes, and found a seat next to Grandpa. She proposed her suggestion calmly.

"Grandpa, Uncle and Aunt, I am willing to step down from the presidency; however, I wish to train Ah Jie for three months, allowing him to work alongside me. After three months, if I deem him truly capable of taking on the presidency, I will naturally let him take the position. If he isn’t qualified, we will delay it by three months. I do not stubbornly cling to the presidency, but this concerns the survival of Xiangyi Group; I must consider it carefully, for the sake of Xiangyi Group. I hope everyone understands my concerns."

Gu Xiangyi has already made concessions. She can clearly see that cousin Ah Jie isn’t skilled in managing the company. For the sake of family harmony, she’s willing to hand over the presidency but insists on training Ah Jie, hoping at least he can competently fulfill the role, with sincerity.

Unfortunately, her heartfelt intentions were seen by Aunt Sun Xiaoli as a pretext, a cunning plot. Sun Xiaoli immediately slammed the table and stood up, screaming in opposition.

"Gu Xiangyi, you are too cunning, too scheming. You look so beautiful on the outside, never imagined you’re full of deceit, trying to outsmart our Ah Jie. Three months ineffective then delay another three months, are you treating us like fools? You will always claim incompetence, then Ah Jie will never become president. I firmly refuse your conditions. If you want to convene a board meeting, no problem, we’re all here, we can convene it right now to impeach you."

Cousin Gu Jie feigned a look of agony: "Cousin, why are you doing this? I am the Gu family’s only grandson. If you truly want to be president that desperately, I’ll let you have it; I won’t be president anymore, I’ll return to America to continue studying."

The second aunt also interjected: "This is obviously a trap, this girl is too manipulative."

The second uncle showed an expression of regret: "She’s changed, eighteen changing seasons for a girl, the heart becomes hard too."

"Simply a heart as venomous as a snake or scorpion."

Facing the condemnation from everyone, Gu Xiangyi smiled, a rather desolate smile. Her goodwill was treated as manipulation, painted as a woman with a heart venomous like a snake or scorpion. She felt internally exhausted.

She bit her lip, clinging to the last shred of hope, smiled slightly at Grandpa: "Grandpa, I still insist on my idea, Ah Jie should follow and work with me. If someday he can truly take on the presidency role, naturally I would step down for him. But now, I can’t, as I have several important projects in hand that can’t afford any mistakes, I don’t have time to serve Young Master Gu."

Grandpa’s face darkened, striking the floor with his cane: "What Young Master Gu, he’s your cousin. Everyone disagrees with your decision, and I have nothing to say, seems we’ll have to convene a board meeting for a vote."

The ultimate sorrow is having a dead heart. After Grandpa indifferently spoke about convening a board meeting, Gu Xiangyi only felt a wave of dizziness, almost collapsing.

Suddenly, a strong hand steadied her, a gentle and pleasant voice: "Don’t worry, continue being president, no one will dare touch you."

Xu Xiangbei sat by Gu Xiangyi, pouring her a glass of water. Her previously pale face regained some vitality.

She genuinely wished to cry her heart out in Xu Xiangbei’s arms, but she restrained herself, smiled at him: "Thank you for your concern. I don’t want to be president anymore. I don’t want to be labeled as a woman with a heart venomous like a snake."

"The ones with venomous hearts aren’t you, but them. They want to take everything you’ve painstakingly built from your hands. But rest assured, they won’t succeed."

Gu Mingchun, upon seeing Xu Xiangbei enter the meeting room, blushed deeply. His life was saved by Xu Xiangbei, and now, considering the removal of Gu Xiangyi from the presidency, felt indebted to Xu Xiangbei.

The second uncle, Gu Chenggang, chuckled: "Doctor Xu, today’s matter is an internal affair of Xiangyi Group, so you don’t need to intervene. We’re convening a board meeting, you’re not a director, please excuse yourself."

Xu Xiangbei threw the documents before Gu Mingchun: "Elder Gu, please have a look at the documents; your company’s equity has changed. Gu Xiangyi now holds fifty-one percent of the shares, more than all of you combined, she now has absolute control, you cannot remove her."

Sun Xiaoli gaped in surprise, enough to fit an egg into her mouth. She snatched the document staggering through disbelief: "Impossible, who sold their shares to her?"

Upon seeing her husband Gu Chengjun transferred 11 percent of shares to Gu Xiangyi, her expression was as if she’d seen a ghost, she tossed the document and fell to the ground, sobbing hysterically like a scolding woman on the streets.

Gu Mingchun’s trembling hands opened the document, confirming its authenticity, painfully shut his eyes. Unable to comprehend why Gu Chengjun’s family insisted yesterday on handing the presidency to Gu Jie, yet signed an agreement transferring equity to Gu Xiangyi, granting her absolute control of Xiangyi Group.

Both the second uncle and aunt stumbled excitedly competing to look at the document. Gu Chenggang hit his forehead on the table corner, causing it to split bleeding.

"Big brother must have gone mad, why transfer so many shares to this girl."

"Your big brother is truly insane."

Gu Jie, like he wasn’t concerned, kept his head down playing on his phone, having little interest in being president, sneaked away amidst the chaos.

Grandpa chuckled bitterly: "Perhaps this is for the best, now Xiangyi can manage the company peacefully. It’s time for me to retire too. Xiangyi, don’t resent Grandpa, he has his hardships too."

Elder Gu shakily left the meeting room using his cane, this farce has finally come to an end.

The most surprised was Gu Xiangyi. Looking at the equity confirmation document’s proportion, and then at the cheeky Xu Xiangbei, her eyes filled with tears of gratitude, her smile much brighter.
