Chapter 232: Reality Check.
Chapter 232: Reality Check.
Huh!
Thoren exhaled deeply through his nose as he stretched his body lazily. "I never thought selling this Flicker Stone would be so exhausting," he said with a faint smile.
Every time his undead mined a certain number of Flicker Stones, he would sell them in the Abyssal Market. At first, he was pleased with the steady income, but as the number of transactions continued to grow, he could not help but feel tired.
However, when he looked at his growing wealth, all his exhaustion vanished from his mind completely.
"Who would have thought this place would not only have High Grade Flicker Stones but also Peak Grade stones?" he said to himself in amazement.
A single Peak Grade Flicker Stone was sold for one Gold Coin.
That single fact alone increased his wealth beyond his wildest imagination. The number of Peak Grade Flicker Stones numbered in the thousands, which told him this was a high tier mine.
He grinned widely as he looked at his undead servants who were still mining diligently.
Now, the once shiny cavern had lost its luster. It had dimmed significantly, leaving only a few smaller Flicker Stones that Thoren was too lazy to mine personally.
Those remaining stones were all Low Grade Flicker Stones, which only sold for five Silver Coins each.
Even though he was still too lazy to care about them, if his undead managed to mine them in passing, he would not mind selling them later.
After all, who would reject free money?
Taking another sip from his bottled water, he watched as his undead mined the last batch of Flicker Stones. All the Peak Grade stones had been mined already, leaving only the Middle Grade and Low Grade stones behind.
More importantly, he was now focused on mining the Middle Grade Flicker Stones.
He had lost track of how long he had stayed in the cavern. Facing such massive wealth, he was in no rush to leave any longer. The riches around him were worth more than time itself.
Three hours later, the tunnel and cavern were almost completely devoid of any Flicker Stones. Everything of value had been mined by the tireless undead workers.
With a pleased smile, Thoren looked at the final batch of Flicker Stones and sent them to the Abyssal Market for sale.
A few seconds later, the transaction was complete. When his eyes fell on the glowing gold sitting in his inventory, he could not help but suck in a cold breath of shock.
"Ten thousand," his voice trailed off in disbelief.
Sitting inside his inventory were more than ten thousand Gold Coins. He had never expected to earn such massive wealth in this forsaken underground world.
Hahahahaha.
A loud, hysterical laughter escaped from his throat, and his face filled with pure joy. For several seconds, he was busy grinning from ear to ear without any control.
Huh!
Finally, he managed to recover from his shock and took a deep, calming breath.
"Now I can upgrade my undead army’s gear," he said, his eyes flashing with anticipation.
His hand trembled slightly, filled with excitement. He took another deep breath to control his overwhelming emotions.
"No matter how costly the weapons are, this lord can buy them," he said, filled with confidence and pride.
Quickly, he opened the Abyssal Market panel and moved to the weapon section. He did not even bat an eye at the Iron Grade section as he scrolled past it. He moved directly to the Bronze Grade section instead.
"Should I even stop at the Bronze section?" he tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Now that I am wealthy, I should not lower my standards."
"Let me check the Silver Grade Section," he mused and clicked on the Silver Grade Section.
However, the moment his eyes fell on the Silver Grade Section, he froze completely. His jaw dropped slowly as he stared at the prices displayed before him.
"Fucking shit," he cursed under his breath.
The lowest Grade weapon cost one thousand Gold Coins, while the Middle Grade cost five thousand Gold Coins. As for the High Grade and Peak Grade weapons, they cost more than ten thousand Gold Coins each.
"Why did I even go to the Silver Grade section in the first place?" he sighed heavily.
He had thought he was rich enough to dominate the Abyssal Market, buying anything he wanted without worry. But now, he realized he was nothing but a pauper with only a few little Gold Coins to his name.
The joy of having over ten thousand Gold Coins vanished into thin air almost instantly. His enthusiasm was completely gone, replaced by cold reality. For a moment, he merely stared at the floating panel in silence.
"I guess this will serve as a lesson for me," he mused, shaking his head as a faint smile crept back up his face.
"I am merely on the second floor. How can my wealth be compared to those on the higher floors?" A mocking laugh escaped from his lips at his own foolishness.
"Still, I bet I am one of the wealthiest awakeners on the second floor," he consoled himself, and his smile returned to his face.
Without looking at the Silver Grade Section again, he slowly returned to the Bronze Grade Section. Looking at the prices of the various items, although they were somewhat expensive, he was not bored by them.
With his newfound wealth, he could comfortably buy any weapon in this section.
The lowest Bronze Grade items cost one hundred Gold Coins, while the highest grade items only cost one thousand Gold Coins.
With his over ten thousand Gold Coins, he had nothing to fear in this section.
"I do not need to buy the low grade items. My target is both the High Grade and Peak Grade equipment," he said firmly.
He had already decided how he was going to equip his undead legion for maximum efficiency.
For the three strongest undead servants, they would be equipped with Peak Bronze Grade weapons and armor. The ten elite undead would be equipped with High Bronze Grade gear instead.
