Chapter 217: The Jackal Beastmen Village Chief.
Chapter 217: The Jackal Beastmen Village Chief.
Bang. Bang.
The Storm Tyrant’s hammer came down with devastating force, shattering skulls and crushing bones. The Royalty Stonewall followed with swift and precise strikes, splitting bodies apart with cold efficiency.
The battlefield descended into chaos.
The Dune Scavengers could not mount an effective defense. Their coordination was shattered by the sudden and overwhelming attack.
Even the undead Dune Scavengers joined the assault. Each one targeted a living Dune Scavenger, engaging them in brutal combat.
The sounds of destruction echoed throughout the village.
Cries of pain.
Roars of rage.
Structures collapses.
Standing behind his advancing forces, Thoren watched the chaos unfold without any change in his expression. His gaze remained calm and steady, as though the destruction before him was nothing more than a passing scene.
From the corner of his eyes, he noticed the notifications appearing continuously.
[Undead Summoning]
[Bone Manipulation]
Without hesitation, he activated his abilities. The fallen Dune Scavengers began to tremble as their lifeless bodies stirred. One after another, they rose to their feet, their eyes hollow and burning with cold soul fire.
Thoren added them to his growing undead army.
With each new addition, his forces expanded further.
The battle quickly pushed deeper into the village.
Everywhere the Undead Rend Colossus passed, it left a trail of destruction. Sand structures crumbled beneath its weight.
Fragile huts collapsed as if they were made of dust. The ground itself seemed unable to withstand its presence.
Inside the village, the Jackal Beastmen were completely caught off guard.
This was the first time their village had ever been attacked.
No outsiders had ever dared to invade their territory.
Their confidence had become their weakness.
From within one of the larger structures, the village Chief emerged.
He was taller and broader than the others. His physique was imposing, and his presence alone commanded attention.
Steel armor covered his body, reflecting the dim crimson light of the desert. In his hand, he held a broad axe that looked both heavy and deadly.
Around him stood the village warriors.
Each one radiated strength.
The weakest among them was already at Level 22.
They prepared to rush toward the entrance to repel the attackers.
Then they froze.
From their left came the sound of battle.
They turned their heads in confusion.
Before they could react, another war cry echoed from their right.
Then another from behind.
Every direction was filled with the sounds of fighting.
Confusion spread across the Chief’s face.
He could not understand what was happening.
Messengers rushed toward him, their movements frantic and disordered. Their voices overlapped as they reported the situation.
Their village was under attack from all sides.
Listening to their words, the Chief’s expression twisted with fury.
A deep, feral howl tore from his throat.
He bared his serrated teeth, his eyes burning with bloodlust.
This was their land.
How dare outsiders invade it.
He raised his weapon and issued his command.
The warriors responded immediately.
They let out savage howls, their voices filled with rage as they charged toward the various battle fronts.
The Chief’s gaze locked onto the Undead Rend Colossus in the distance.
He recognized it as the greatest threat.
Without hesitation, he pointed his axe toward it.
Then he moved.
Whoosh!
In an instant, his figure vanished, leaving behind only a cloud of disturbed sand.
Meanwhile, Thoren continued to expand his forces.
He had already converted a considerable number of Dune Scavengers into undead. Their numbers had grown past ten, and they were actively turning against their former kin.
Thoren would never waste such an opportunity.
Every fallen enemy became a new undead soldier.
Every death strengthened his army.
Suddenly, a figure appeared among the undead.
Bang.
An undead Dune Scavenger was struck with overwhelming force. Its body was sent flying across the battlefield, crashing into a half destroyed hut. Its head separated from its body upon impact.
The attacker did not stop.
He moved again.
His speed was terrifying.
He blended seamlessly with the desert, leaving no clear trace of his movements.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
The Jackal Beastmen Chief unleashed a relentless assault. His strikes were fast, powerful and brutal. In less than ten seconds, more than five undead Dune Scavengers were sent flying.
Their bodies were broken apart with brutal efficiency.
Then he stopped.
A furious howl escaped his throat once more.
His chest rose and fell with uncontrolled fury. His eyes burned with rage as he stared at the Undead Rend Colossus.
To him, that was the true threat.
Suddenly, attacks descended upon him.
Fireballs rained from above.
Sharp wind blades cut through the air toward him.
A sneer appeared on his Jackal face as he disappeared again.
The attacks struck nothing but empty space. The Undead Rend Colossus responded.
It raised its massive leg and slammed it into the ground.
Boom.
A powerful vibration spread across the battlefield. The tremor caused nearby structures to collapse instantly. Sand walls shattered and fell apart under the force.
However, the Chief remained unaffected.
He appeared directly before the undead Rend Colossus and without hesitation, he struck.
Bang.
The impact was devastating.
The Undead Rend Colossus was lifted off the ground and thrown backward. Its massive body crashed heavily into the desert, carving a deep crater upon impact.
The soul fire within its eye sockets flickered violently, on the verge of extinguishing.
Seeing this, Thoren reacted immediately.
He withdrew the Undead Rend Colossus back into his Undead Space.
Within that space, it could preserve its life and allow it to recover.
Allowing it to remain on the battlefield would only result in its destruction. For a brief moment, the battlefield fell into a strange silence.
The Chief stood still.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he processed what had just happened, then his gaze shifted.
It landed on Thoren.
Instantly, the air grew tense.
The distance between them suddenly felt insignificant.
He had identified the true source of the danger.
And now, his killing intent was directed entirely at Thoren.
The desert wind howled softly between them and neither of them move immediately.
