Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Chelsea

The little girl looked up at Bert in confusion, as if she couldn't understand why she was not allowed to get close to her father.

My jaw clenched.

“Why the fuck did I have no idea that Dylan and Cherry had a child? And she is already seven years old?!” I whispered to myself. My insides were literally shaking in anger, but I needed to keep a cool facade.

“Why didn't daddy answer me, Uncle Bert?” The little girl named Fern asked.

“I have a daughter?” Dylan asked in disbelief.

“You don't remember me, daddy? It's me, Fern, your little princess!” Fern stared back at Bert before he said anything.

“Please take Fern upstairs, Maisy!” Bert called inside the room before a woman came over and took Fern away.

I glanced at Dylan, who couldn't take his eyes off Fern when the child was dragged away from us, struggling.

“Bert, is that little girl mine? She is my daughter...with Cherry? You sure this girl is not a bastard Cherry had with someone—”

Bert could no longer stand hearing all the blasphemy coming out of Dylan's lips against Cherry. He grabbed Dylan's collar and pinned him against the wall out of anger.

“Let Dylan go, Bert! How dare you attack the Alpha of the pack?!” I shouted while trying to pull them away from each other.

“Show some respect for Cherry, Dylan. If there's someone who is sleeping around, it's you!” He spat and then glared at me.

“Stop it, Bert! Dylan and I came here to talk about the accident,” I was vexed at Bert.

Dylan held me close to him after I fixed the neckline of his shirt.

Bert sighed and let us in, answering all the questions from Dylan one by one.

“Fern is your daughter. If you don't believe it, go have a DNA test. But I hope you don't opt for that.” Bert rolled his eyes at Dylan in a manly manner.

“You're hurting Cherry deep, Dylan. I beg you not to put Fern through the same pain—”

“Why did you hide Fern from me? You should've told me about her right after I came back, Bert. It's my right to know about her—”

“And now you do! Now that you know about Fern, will you finally man up and stop fooling around? Your daughter needs a complete family, a father, and a mother.” Bert interrupted and demanded.

“I'm taking Fern to live with me,” Dylan said before even talking with me. Though strongly against this idea, I said nothing because I was supposed to be supportive at this moment.

“I can't let you do that, Dylan. Cherry wouldn't like it.” Bert refused coldly.

“Cherry is a suspect now. If there is someone who should be taking care of Fern, it should be me.”

On top of being Fern's father, Dylan was the Alpha of this pack too. And his words were considered to be law at times like this. Left with no choice, Bert had to allow Dylan to take Fern away.

**********

“Uncle Bert told me that mommy was on a business trip back in Berlin. When do you think she'll be back home, daddy? I can't wait to be with you and Mommy again!”

Back at the pack house, this little girl kept talking about all this nonsense, which angered me even more. The journey of revenge was never easy indeed. Just when I thought that I could get rid of Cherry, here came the truth that they had a child!

“And who is this aunt with you? Why was she at our house and calling you hunny?” Fern kept bombarding Dylan with questions.

Dylan's phone rang at this moment, before he could answer Fern's questions.

“I have to get this,” he said, leaving me alone with his annoying daughter.

I faked a smile at Fern to appear friendly and loving, though deep inside I really hated this little bastard as much as her mother. “Should I just poison this little girl to kill her?” I whispered to myself.

“How about you answer my questions?” The little bastard turned to me. “Why are you staying at our house? Are you our new maid?” She asked.

“No, Fern. I'm not your new maid. I'm your father's girlfriend. He'd marry me soon, and I'll be your new mommy,” I said to her, smiling.

“No! Why would daddy get a new girlfriend? He would never do that. Daddy loves mommy!” Fern shook her head hard, her eyes widened.

“Oh, sweetie. He just did, because your mother is a bad woman. She almost killed your father.” This little rat was just as annoying as her mother. I suppressed the impulse to snap at her, when an idea surfaced in my head.

I smiled at the little rat, more of a smirk. If I couldn't get rid of this one, I'd just use her to my advantage.

“My mommy would never do such a thing. She loves my father!” Tears welled up in Fern's eyes.

“I know this is hard for you, honey. But did you see the bandage on your father's forehead? And the bruises on his face?” I tried to be gentle with her.

Fern nodded her head, and calmed down a little bit.

“Your father got all those injuries in an accident. And it was your mother's plan. She wanted your father dead so she can marry her new boyfriend back in Berlin—"

"No! M-Mommy wouldn't do that..." Shocked, Fern burst into tears.

I never knew that this edited video of Cherry chasing Dylan with a knife in the forest would come to use one day. But here came this day.

“I don't mean to hurt you sweetie. But here's what your mommy did to your daddy...” I acted hesitant before showing her the edited video.

“It was taken by a surveillance camera, on the day when your daddy fled from the hospital."

I stopped for a few minutes before continued, observing the little brat's reaction.

"No!!!! You're lying!!" The brat shouted at me.

“If your daddy got caught up with by your mommy, he would be dead by now." I stood up from my seat and came over to her.

"And the accident your daddy had a few days ago, it was also done by your mommy.” I gave the brat the last hit, waiting for her to break down.

“No... I-I... can't believe mommy could do this to daddy...” The poor thing sobbed.

“Hush now, sweetie. I'm here. I'll be your new mommy and I'll love you forever.” Hiding the smirk on my face, I kissed Fern's hair while caressing her back.
