Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 153

Chapter 153

Giovanni's Perspective

I was busy in the kitchen, meticulously preparing my goddess's favorite dish. It was her birthday, and I wanted to give her a memorable surprise.

The kitchen was filled with the aroma of roasting meat and the scent of fresh herbs as I tossed the vegetables in the pan, occasionally glancing at the clock on the wall.

"Giovanni, what are you up to?" Her voice came through the door as she peeked in curiously.

I hurried to the door and opened it gently, wearing a mysterious smile. "It's a special day; I'm preparing a surprise for you."

Little Tree smiled faintly, curiosity and anticipation flickering in her eyes. "Alright, I'll leave you to it."

"Just a little longer, it'll be ready soon." I returned to the kitchen and resumed my bustling. I took the roast out of the oven and placed it on the table, then carefully brought out the final course.

The table was adorned with her favorite dishes, each meticulously prepared in a variety of colors and flavors. I lit the candles, their soft light reflecting on Little Tree's face, making her appear even more beautiful and moving. It tempted me to kiss her, but I quickly suppressed the urge. I didn't want to offend my goddess at such a moment.

"Happy birthday, my goddess," I said, walking over to her with a bouquet of carefully chosen flowers.

Unexpectedly, my goddess accepted the flowers, but a fleeting unnatural expression crossed her face, which I managed to catch. "Birthday?" she asked suspiciously.

"Yes, it's your birthday, isn't it, Aurora?" I confirmed.

"Oh, right. I had forgotten it was my birthday. Thank you, Giovanni. You really didn't have to go through all this trouble." The unnatural expression on her face quickly turned into a smile.

"You deserve it." I kissed her forehead gently, sensing something amiss, but perhaps she was just overwhelmed with joy. "Come, let's try the dinner I made for you."

We sat at the table and savored a delicious meal. I gazed at my goddess's smiling face, my heart brimming with happiness and contentment.

After dinner, I reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out a small box. "I have something for you."

She seemed a bit stunned as she held out her hand, and I placed the box in her palm.

"What's this?"

My lips curled slightly. "Open it."

She opened the box. Inside was a beautiful necklace with an elegant teardrop diamond pendant.

"It's beautiful," she said, but then sighed, "but it's too expensive for me to accept..."

My expression stiffened at her words.

She quickly added, "But thank you so much for your thoughts. It means a lot..."

"Don't move," I ordered firmly.

No man liked to be rejected by the woman he loved, especially not me, an Alpha.

I pulled the necklace out of the box and walked around behind her. My arms wrapped around her from behind before gently clasping the necklace around her neck.

"Keep it... for me, okay?" I whispered in her ear.

"Thank you... If you insist," she replied as she turned around.

I was relieved she didn't try to take it off.

Her crimson lips opened and closed in the light, giving off a tantalizing shine that seemed to invite me.

Without hesitation, my lips met hers in a deep, passionate kiss.

In the dead of night, I found myself in that dream again.

I stood in a tranquil forest, sunlight filtering through the leaves, and the scent of flowers filled the air.

Light laughter echoed behind me, and I turned to see a girl running towards me.

"Wait for me!" I chased after her, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't see her face clearly. She always vanished into the woods just out of reach.

Desperation gripped me as I pursued the elusive figure, my heart heavy with anxiety and longing. A powerful emotion urged me to catch her, as if something precious would be lost if I didn't.

"Who are you?" I called out, but she only laughed and continued running, her laughter warm and familiar.

Eventually, her form blurred and faded into mist. A sharp pang of loss pierced me, leaving an ache in my heart.

I struggled desperately to catch up, but the path beneath my feet grew increasingly blurry and difficult to navigate.

"No!" I shouted, desperation in my voice. "Come back!"

Suddenly, I woke up from my dream, gasping for air, my forehead slick with cold sweat. Opening my eyes, I found my goddess lying beside me, her expression slightly odd.

"Giovanni, are you okay?" She asked, concern evident in her voice.

Unable to speak, I pulled her close, fearing she might vanish any moment.

"Giovanni, what's wrong?" She murmured softly, running her hand up my back in a soothing gesture.

"I... I had a dream," my voice trembled. "About a girl, but I couldn't see her face. I'm afraid... afraid you'll leave me like she did."

She paused, then gently stroked my hair, trying to reassure me, my wolf purring contentedly.

"I won't leave you. I'll always be here for you."

My gaze fell to her soft pink lips, looking as tender as flower petals. They seemed irresistible.

My wolf growled, desire urging me on. I kissed her, her sweet scent enveloping me. Her response ignited a fire within. I pushed her back onto the bed, leaning over her, consumed by longing.

I pinned her down, kissing her passionately, my tongue exploring her mouth with urgency.

She whimpered, caught between trepidation and desire, unable to resist.

Finally, we broke apart, both gasping for air.

Her breath caught, her lips swollen and parted.

"You're everything to me."

I met her gaze, then kissed her again.
