Chapter 616: Ichin Alone at Home

Chapter 616: Ichin Alone at Home

Although such an unexpected incident happened in the morning, after adjusting for the whole morning, Haruno still did not cancel the outing she had originally planned.

Of course, there was one change. Ichin was forbidden by Haruno from going out with them. It would only be her, Utaha, and Yukino.

Well, it was expected. Even though she knew that her younger sister had agreed to it willingly, Haruno still did not want to see Ichin for the time being.

So after lunch, the three of them left Ichin at home and drove out together.

Watching the car drive away, Ichin looked down at the cats around his feet and scratched his head.

"Alright then. I'll stay home with you guys this afternoon. All of you are getting way too fat, especially you, Peppa. This afternoon I'm definitely going to give you some proper exercise."

After saying that, he went to grab the cat teaser wand. He had to make sure this little guy got some real exercise.

However, after playing with the cats for a while, Ichin suddenly remembered that according to the original plan, dinner was supposed to be eaten outside today.

And now that he had been left at home, that meant he had to prepare dinner himself.

"Good thing there's still ingredients in the fridge. Otherwise I'd have to go out and buy some."

Just as he finished speaking, Utaha called and repeated the same thing to him.

"So, Ichin, you'll have to make your own dinner tonight. We won't be bringing anything back for you."

"So even you too, Utaha..."

Ichin shook his head helplessly.

"Alright, I got it. I'll cook something myself. You guys just enjoy yourselves out there."

Inside the car, after hanging up, Utaha looked at Haruno.

"I've told Ichin. So what should we eat tonight? There's one less person now."

Haruno flicked her hair while driving.

"Anything is fine. Eat whatever we feel like. After going to Tokyo Skytree, should we go shopping for clothes? There seem to be a lot of new summer items out lately, but I haven't had the chance to browse them."

Utaha and Yukino exchanged a glance. Both of them felt rather helpless, but they could only go along with her.

As for Ichin at home, neither Utaha nor Yukino was worried about him. They also knew that Ichin wouldn't get angry. If he was alone at home, he would most likely spend the time working.

And that was exactly what happened.

After playing with the cats for a while in the afternoon, Ichin went straight to work, using the rest of the afternoon to finish refining the remaining planning documents for Bloodborne.

When he finally stopped at five thirty, Ichin stretched his arms and checked the time.

"So it's already this late. I should go downstairs and make something to eat. What should I have? Maybe I'll just cook some noodles."

Since it was just dinner for himself, Ichin kept things simple. He boiled some noodles and prepared two toppings. Just like that, a simple dinner was ready.

Carrying the bowl to the living room, Ichin placed his dinner on the coffee table. He didn't start eating immediately. Instead, he first poured cat food for the cats and opened two cans of cat food to mix in.

"Alright, let's eat."

After finishing the simple meal, he left the lights on downstairs so the cats could play, then returned to the upstairs studio to continue another round of work.

The planning documents for Bloodborne were finished, but that wasn't the end of it. Next, there was the development of the second Garo adaptation game. The contract for that project had already been signed.

For the second game, the story would follow the original plot of the second season while expanding it further. At the same time, the gameplay systems would need to undergo more changes and improvements.

The combat system in the first game was actually a simplified version of the combat system from Tales of Berseria. If he wanted to take the easy route, he could simply copy that entire system over. Whether it was the move sets or the impact of attacks, everything worked very well.

But if he did that, it would feel too lacking in freshness.

Ichin wanted to add some unique features of his own, making the game stand out instead of just being a tokusatsu adaptation that copied the system from one of his own games.

While thinking about it, Ichin took out the Garo Blu-ray discs and began watching from the beginning inside the studio.

He already knew the story, but he still needed to watch it a few more times to properly determine the best way to adapt it into a game.

As he watched, he also held a small notebook in his hand, constantly jotting down notes.

Time slowly passed as he worked like this.

Finally, at around nine thirty, the sound of a car engine came from outside the villa.

Pressing pause, Ichin smiled.

"They're finally back."

Leaving the study and going downstairs, he saw the three of them carrying various shopping bags.

When Utaha saw Ichin coming down, she immediately walked over with a smile.

"Ichin, we're back! We bought quite a lot of things. There's some for you too!"

Yukino also smiled.

"We picked out several clothes for you. My sister helped choose them too."

Hearing Yukino's words, Ichin looked at Haruno in surprise.

Haruno rolled her eyes at him.

"What, is it that surprising? No matter what, I wouldn't still be angry after a whole day."

After putting the bags down, Haruno looked at Ichin.

"I'll just say this one thing. You better take good care of Yukino. If you ever make her sad, I absolutely won't let you off."

Ichin quietly let out a small sigh of relief and nodded firmly.

"I know. I'll definitely treat Yukino well."

The three of them had been out shopping for a long time and were quite tired. After sitting down, Ichin went to the kitchen and brought out the watermelon that had been chilling in the fridge.

While eating, Utaha told Ichin about their day out. They had gone to Tokyo Skytree and spent quite a long time there. In the evening, they found a seafood restaurant and enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner.

At the right moment, Haruno also took out her phone and showed Ichin photos from their dinner. Sea urchin, oysters, lobster, and king crab. All kinds of delicious seafood that made Ichin feel a little hungry just looking at them.

"Looks like you ate really well. I just made some simple noodles with two toppings, then went back upstairs to continue working."

Now that Haruno had already discovered everything, Ichin no longer tried to hide it. He casually used a toothpick to pick up a piece of watermelon and fed it into Yukino's mouth before eating a piece himself.

"Alright, you guys finish eating the watermelon first. After that you can go take a bath. I'm going back upstairs to keep working. I'm still thinking about the adaptation ideas for Garo."

Haruno nodded. Watching Yukino's blissful expression after being fed watermelon by Ichin made her feel incredibly sour.

Maybe she shouldn't have stayed here.

It felt like every day from now on would just be her getting force-fed their lovey-dovey moments.

If this kept going for too long, it would cause serious psychological damage.

At that moment, even the watermelon in Haruno's mouth suddenly tasted sweeter.
