Chapter 611 611: Returning to Work

Standing by the entrance of the gym, Utaha spoke on the phone with Ichin's mother while waiting for Yukino to finish her call.

About ten minutes later, when she saw Yukino's call end, Utaha finally walked over with her phone and handed it to her.

After taking the phone, Yukino's mood was no longer as tense as before.

She began speaking with Ichin's mother, while Utaha didn't stay there. Instead, she went upstairs and opened the door to the studio.

Inside the studio, Ichin was working seriously at his computer, his hands rapidly tapping across the keyboard.

Since he wasn't wearing headphones, he immediately heard the sound of the door opening. Turning around, he looked at Utaha and asked, "Why did you come up?"

"I came to tell you something," Utaha said with a smile as she walked in. "Yukino is talking to Mom right now. And her mother has already called too."

"Is that so?"

Ichin scratched his head.

"Then I should go down and take a look."

However, just as he said that, the premonition he had earlier came true. His phone started ringing.

Picking it up, he saw a saved number on the screen. It was Yukino's mother.

Showing it to Utaha, Ichin immediately pressed the answer button.

"Hello, Aunt."

"Ichin, do you have time to talk?"

"Yes, I do."

After nodding, Ichin sat down again and began talking with Yukino's mother.

Seeing this, Utaha quietly stepped out and returned downstairs.

Another ten minutes passed, and both calls ended at roughly the same time.

Ichin walked out of the studio and headed downstairs looking as if he had just survived a disaster.

Yukino, on the other hand, looked completely different. She was happily petting the cats with Utaha while watching TV.

Seeing Ichin come down like that, Utaha smiled and moved aside to make space between herself and Yukino.

"Ichin, were you grilled?"

"Not exactly," Ichin said as he sat down. He took Peppa from Utaha's arms and scratched the cat under its chin. "When Aunt talked with me, she already knew the details, so she didn't scold me or anything. But she did make a request. I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not."

"Hm?"

Utaha and Yukino both looked at him curiously.

Ichin glanced at Yukino before saying, "You both know that the Yukinoshita family has been arranging blind dates for Haruno, looking for someone to marry into the family, right?"

Both of them nodded at the same time. Not only they but also many of their friends knew about it. The problem was that finding someone who met Haruno's standards was incredibly difficult, and so far no one had caught her interest.

"So after she found out about my relationship with Yukino, Aunt said she would temporarily stop arranging marriage alliances for Haruno. She said that in the future, the child between Yukino and me should inherit the Yukinoshita family. And it has to be a boy."

"Huh? Why didn't Mom tell me that?!"

Yukino exclaimed in surprise, her cheeks turning red almost instantly.

Having a child was something she had never even thought about, and during her call just now, her mother hadn't mentioned it at all.

Utaha, meanwhile, rubbed her chin thoughtfully.

"Hmm… for Haruno, that actually does seem like a good thing. And as for children, even if we don't think about it now, it's something we'll inevitably face in the future. Ichin, what did you tell Aunt?"

"I didn't agree right away," Ichin said. Then he looked into Yukino's eyes with a smile. "After all, this isn't something I can decide alone. Besides, I think Haruno should keep going on blind dates. Who knows? She might actually find someone suitable."

Yukino, still blushing, smiled and nodded as she hugged Ichin's arm.

"I don't have a problem with it. But my sister's blind dates don't have to stop."

"Alright. I'll tell Aunt that."

Taking out his phone, Ichin quickly typed a message and sent it to Yukino's mother.

As for the relationship between the three of them, things would continue as before. They would keep it hidden from most people and simply live their lives quietly.

After returning home and resting for the night, Tuesday arrived.

Even though it was still summer vacation, neither Ichin nor Utaha and Yukino could sleep in.

Having been away for a week, Utaha had to head to Akane Kosaka's place today to continue the planning meetings for the new game and further refine the script.

Ichin and Haruno also had to return to their respective companies and resume their busy work.

Especially Haruno. She had already taken it easy for a week, so the workload waiting for her would definitely be heavy. She would probably come home late again tonight, meaning they'd have to save some food for her.

After breakfast, Haruno, Umiko, and Nene left first.

Ichin then drove Utaha, Yukino, and Eriri out. He first dropped Utaha off at Akane's place before heading to the company.

After arriving at the company and greeting everyone, the first thing Ichin did was call each development team into the meeting room one by one to hold meetings and understand the progress made over the past week.

The entire day was basically spent in meetings. Two in the morning and one in the afternoon, finally finishing at around two-thirty.

The work progress was roughly the same as what Umiko had reported the night before. There were basically no major problems.

Both Tales of Berseria and Monster Train were progressing smoothly.

By Thursday, Tales of Berseria would have all currently discovered bugs fixed and optimization work completed. After that, it could be sent for disc production so that physical versions for all three platforms could be made.

The development of Monster Train was also going well. Another batch of card illustrations had been completed, and the monster models for one clan were finished as well, allowing for a new round of testing. Everyone's enthusiasm for development was very high.

As for Fall Guys, there was never much to worry about. The development schedule had always been packed.

During the afternoon meeting, aside from discussing development progress, they even talked about ideas for new stages and new skins.

After the meetings ended, Ichin returned to his office.

Yukino was sitting there reading a book.

When she saw Ichin enter, she set her textbook aside and looked at his exhausted expression.

"You've worked hard. Come take a break."

Seeing Yukino wearing stockings today, Ichin smiled.

"Can I have a lap pillow?"

Yukino already knew that Ichin's motive for asking her to wear stockings today wasn't entirely pure, but she still agreed. Patting her legs, she said, "Come here."

Ichin immediately sat down happily and lay down on Yukino's lap, closing his eyes comfortably.

Yukino smiled, gently stroked his hair, and softly began giving him a head massage.
