Chapter 610 610: The One-Week Vacation Ends

Chapter 610 610: The One-Week Vacation Ends

After resting for a day and packing everything up, the vacation in Shanghai finally came to an end. It was time to head back to Tokyo.

They took a car to the airport, went through the series of procedures, and finally it was time to board the plane.

Before boarding, Ichin said goodbye to his parents. Just as he was about to turn around, his mother called out to him.

"Ichin, come here for a moment."

"Huh?"

Before he could react, his mother pulled him aside.

Seeing this, Utaha said to the others, "Let's board first."

By the time they had already been on the plane for ten minutes, Ichin finally boarded at a leisurely pace and came over to sit beside Utaha.

The moment he sat down, Ichin let out a long sigh, then looked at Utaha, who had a smile on her face.

"You already knew, didn't you? Why didn't you tell me?"

Utaha stuck out her tongue playfully and said, "Mom told me not to tell you. She wanted to talk to you herself. Even though I tried to explain, it didn't help. Ichin, are you angry?"

Ichin shook his head.

"Not really. After all, the ones at a disadvantage are you girls. Even if Mom beat me up, that would be getting off lightly. But when did Mom find out?"

"She knew when we went to Tokyo. Oh, and Yukino's mother knows too. Don't underestimate the observational skills of elders."

"…"

Ichin fell silent.

Then when they went to Chiba earlier, why hadn't Yukino's mother said anything to him? Was that her way of silently approving it?

Looking toward the other side, Yukino was sitting with Haruno, and her expression showed no change at all.

Sensing Ichin's gaze, Yukino returned a puzzled look.

Since they were on a plane right now, Ichin decided it would be better to talk to Yukino after they got back.

Holding Utaha's hand, Ichin whispered, "So Yukino still doesn't know anything?"

"Right."

Utaha nodded.

"Aunt probably understands Yukino's personality, so she didn't talk to her about it. With Yukino's character, and given the current situation, she wouldn't be able to stop it anyway. So Ichin, you managed to avoid a disaster."

"No, I don't think I can avoid it," Ichin said with a twitch of his lips. "We'll definitely run into her often in the future."

He could already imagine how things would be in the days ahead. Yukino's mother would probably visit from time to time and take advantage of moments when Yukino wasn't around to have a proper talk with him.

Still, no matter what, things hadn't developed in a bad direction. Whatever came next, he would just face it.

After waiting a bit longer, the plane finally took off. Ichin stopped thinking about it and simply closed his eyes to rest.

Two hours later, the plane landed at Tokyo Airport. It was already four in the afternoon.

After picking up their luggage and leaving the airport, Ichin squinted at the bright sun outside.

"Let's go home, take a shower, and change clothes. Then we'll head out to find a restaurant for dinner. I really don't feel like cooking at home today. I'm exhausted. What about you, Eriri? Eating at home?"

Eriri shook her head.

"I'll go out with you guys too. It's Monday, and my parents aren't home. They messaged me this morning saying I should handle dinner myself after I get back."

"Alright. Then let's head back first, drop off the luggage, tidy up a bit, and then go out to eat."

They drove back to the villa. Since it was Monday, Umiko and Nene weren't home, and the cats had been taken to the company.

Seeing Yukino's slightly disappointed expression, Ichin smiled and patted her head.

"Alright, don't look so down. By the time we get back from dinner, the cats will definitely be home too. You can cuddle them as much as you want then. For now, go upstairs and organize your things."

Yukino nodded and carried her luggage upstairs.

Meanwhile, Haruno, who had just turned on the air conditioner with the remote, saw the scene and narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. She then pulled her suitcase and followed upstairs as well.

After finishing unpacking, taking showers, and changing clothes, and once Eriri had come over, the five of them set out again by car and found a restaurant to enjoy a proper dinner.

When they returned home, sure enough, Umiko and Nene had already come back from work with the cats.

Ichin had also packed two dinners for them from the restaurant, so they didn't have to cook tonight. Besides, going out to eat with the cats wasn't convenient.

"Oh!!! Roast duck!"

When Nene opened the bag and saw what was inside, she broke into a delighted smile.

While eating, everyone told them about the trip over the past few days, and Umiko briefly updated Ichin on the company's situation over the past week.

The progress of all the projects was going well, especially Tales of Berseria. Various optimizations and bug fixes were nearing completion. In another three or four days, everything should be wrapped up.

As for the more detailed matters, they would find out during the meeting at the company tomorrow.

Taking a bite of the roast duck wrap, Nene's cheeks puffed out as she looked at Ichin.

"Once Tales of Berseria is finished, we can send it for disc production, right? We're not going to move the release earlier again this time, are we?"

"No, we won't."

Ichin shook his head.

"The game's promotional schedule has already been arranged. If we move it earlier again, the whole plan would get disrupted, which would be troublesome. We'll stick to the original plan and release it on September 20th. There isn't much time left anyway, and it's just about right for disc production and distribution."

Thanks to the demo version, the game had already accumulated a very good number of pre-orders. There was no need to do any last-minute release date changes. They just needed to proceed steadily with the promotion.

With the extra time, they could carefully check the game again for any remaining issues and further refine the day-one patch, reducing bugs as much as possible when players finally got their hands on the game.

After Umiko and Nene finished dinner, they were still staying here tonight and would move back tomorrow. So the two of them called Eriri and Haruno over to the media room and started playing games together in a lively atmosphere.

Ichin returned to his studio to quietly prepare some work for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Utaha stayed downstairs with Yukino, watching TV and petting the cats. After everyone else had gone upstairs, she also told Yukino that their situation had already been discovered.

After hearing this, Yukino's face instantly flushed red.

"They… already know? And Mother knows too?!"

"Yep, they know," Utaha said reassuringly. "But there hasn't been much reaction so far. Don't worry. Judging from the fact that Aunt hasn't reacted strongly yet, she probably doesn't plan to blame us."

But just as she finished speaking, both Utaha's and Yukino's phones rang at the same time.

Utaha's call was from Ichin's mother.

And Yukino's… was from her own mother.
