Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty

Chapter 577 - 516: Childbirth Crisis

Chapter 577 - 516: Childbirth Crisis

Things in the Royal Palace had been unnervingly peaceful lately, and Sang Luo was actually getting bored. She decided to simply focus on her pregnancy and await the baby’s birth.

Sha was a qualified—no, a perfect Beast Father. Ever since Sang Luo moved into the Royal Palace, his care had been meticulous. He reined in his inherent arrogance, providing her with the very best food and drink. Many of the top-grade soul fruits and spiritual materials were things Sang Luo had never even heard of. The slightest discomfort from her sent him into a nervous frenzy, prompting him to summon all the renowned doctors from the Ghost Domain. He even went as far as kidnapping several famous doctors from the Beast World to keep them in the palace, available for her twenty-four hours a day.

As the day of her delivery drew closer, Sang Luo found herself sleeping more and more.

One night, she was suddenly pulled into a different space.

The space was filled with a dazzling, mesmerizing Holy Light. The exterior acted like a mirror, reflecting the frozen time of the outside world. ’This is... a Holy Domain!?’

The light coalesced into a tall, handsome figure. He had long, brilliant golden hair, magnificent eyes that shone like dazzling suns, and thin, elegant lips. His features were so beautiful they seemed both divine and ascetic. Dressed in a magnificent, vintage-style, gold-patterned robe, his ten flawless, snow-white Angel wings were on full display. Who else could it be but Minos?

His complexion, however, was terrible—so pale it was almost translucent. His eyes were shadowed with deep exhaustion, as if he hadn’t slept properly in years.

"Luoluo!" Minos hurried over, pulling her into a sideways embrace.

"How did you get here? Haven’t you been in seclusion for the past hundred years? What happened?" Sang Luo’s heart ached as she caressed his haggard face.

Minos, however, grabbed her hand with immense force.

"I saw the day of your death!"

Sang Luo’s eyes widened in astonishment, her face filled with disbelief. "Wh-what?"

Minos explained everything that had happened over the years, holding nothing back. He recounted how, long ago, in the River of Time and Space, he had accidentally glimpsed a scene: Sang Luo dying a gruesome death in a sea of blood.

But his cultivation realm was insufficient at the time, so he couldn’t see the cause or consequences of this tragedy, let alone find a way to avert it.

Over the past hundred years, he had entered secluded cultivation, burning his own Divine Blood and lifespan as the price to forcibly break through to the Divine Venerable Realm. Only then was he finally able to see it all!

Minos suddenly looked down at her very pregnant belly. She was due to give birth within days. His face grew even paler, and his fingers trembled uncontrollably.

"The scene I prophesied... during childbirth, your body will perish and your Dao will be destroyed! Your Divine Soul will be completely annihilated!"

"Calm down first." Suddenly handed a death sentence, Sang Luo would be lying if she said she wasn’t panicking, but she knew she had to remain composed at a time like this. "Prophecies, like fate, aren’t completely accurate. This isn’t guaranteed to happen. And even if it does, I’ve lived for six or seven hundred years and still have several Nirvana Lives I haven’t used yet."

Back then, she had used one life to conceive this child, so she still had five left.

Even if she died again, at worst, she would just have to endure the pain of Nirvana once more. She’d still be alive.

"Besides, there’s the Rakshasa King. I’m bearing his heir. Logically and emotionally, he can’t just watch me die for nothing, right? He’d have to go to the Ten Thousand World Water Mirror and pull me back."

"It’s different!" Minos shook his head. "If your Divine Soul is completely destroyed, not even the Ghost King can save you!"

Sang Luo stared at her large belly in disbelief. ’This child... will really be the death of me?’

’Does Sha know about this?’

’He’s never told me.’

’Then again, that makes sense. All he wants is an heir. Whether I live or die means nothing to him.’

Sang Luo frowned. "The baby is about to be born. Even if I try to forcefully stop it, I’ll still die."

"There is one last resort, though it’s barely a solution." Minos raised his hand and drew a transparent, crimson-gold thread from between her eyebrows.

Sang Luo felt a brief moment of disorientation but no other discomfort. Her gaze fell on the crimson-gold thread, and Minos quickly explained, "This is a wisp of your Divine Soul. I need to preserve it."

He took a deep breath, extremely reluctant to say what came next.

"If... if you really do die, leaving this wisp of your Divine Soul behind will at least provide a sliver of hope for survival."

But it was only a sliver of hope.

It was the last resort when all other options were gone.

Sang Luo reached out to take the wisp of Divine Soul. As she did, her wide sleeve slipped down, revealing a snow-white wrist. A thin red cord was tied around it, from which hung a pale-cyan jade pendant. The markings in the jade looked like a galaxy collapsing into a black hole.

Minos’s dim, sorrowful golden eyes caught sight of the bracelet. He seemed lost for a moment, then his eyes suddenly lit up. He excitedly grabbed her hand and pressed, "Luoluo, where did you get this?"

Sang Luo followed his gaze to the Jade Bracelet on her right wrist. She thought for a moment; she recalled seeing one on Si Ye’s wrist as well. "I think Ah Ye got it the last time he was in a Secret Realm. He thought the stone was pretty, so he made a bracelet and gave it to me."

"That kid’s luck is incredible. This is Taixu Soul Jade, and it contains the Void Law and the Power of Netherworld Reincarnation." Minos examined it closely before sighing softly. "Unfortunately, it’s damaged, and its power has weakened. That’s why it was mistaken for a common piece of jade."

"Damaged?" Sang Luo asked. "Ah Ye has one on his wrist too. Could they be two parts of a whole?"

Minos shook his head. "Taixu Soul Jade is inherently a yin-yang pair, mutually generating and sustaining. You can’t use that other piece."

"What can this soul stone be used for?"

"I can place this wisp of your Divine Soul into the Taixu Soul Jade to increase the chance of success. But... even then, it’s less than thirty percent." Minos looked at Sang Luo with a pained expression. "If it fails... Luoluo, I can’t live without you. I will follow you into death!"

"Don’t say such foolish things, and don’t you dare jinx it!" Sang Luo quickly covered his mouth, chiding him. "I plan on living, so you can just stop that talk right now!"

Minos, who had been heartbroken, couldn’t help but smile through his tears at her frantic words. He took her small hand, brought it to his lips for a kiss, but as he smiled, he couldn’t suppress the sorrow welling up inside him. "Of course I want you to live. More than anyone in the world."

He suddenly thought of something and asked, "By the way, Luoluo, which world were you born in?"

Sang Luo looked confused. "I don’t know either. I used to think it was an Earth from tens of thousands of years in the past, but not a planet that exists in this world."

A golden thread swirled around Minos’s fingertip, slowly weaving itself into a vast Star River Map. Countless galaxies and universes drifted through it in an ever-changing display until the image finally settled on a single, azure planet.

Realization and surprise dawned on Sang Luo. It was Earth. Looking at it gave her a feeling of strange familiarity.

"I tracked this place down using your Divine Soul Power. This is the birthplace of your soul, the planet most attuned to you, like a womb. I can leave this wisp of your Divine Soul here as a cultivation anchor."

Minos’s long, slender, pale fingers manipulated the planet’s timeline. Sang Luo watched him place the piece of Taixu Soul Jade, which held a trace of her Divine Sense, into a specific node in time. It was the exact same node in which she had originally transmigrated!

"By changing the original world’s timeline, won’t that alter the subsequent flow of time and space?"
