From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 79: Rebuilding the Church System

Chapter 79: Rebuilding the Church System

"This Professor Thomas is quite the talent!" Bai Yang exclaimed in surprise. "I did have this kind of concept for this period of history, and his words happen to coincide perfectly with my own thoughts!"

"But his ideas do not entirely align with yours, Crown!" Alvin pointed out.

"It is actually better that they do not align. It proves he is piecing things together himself, rather than reading my mind!" Bai Yang declared, a smile spreading across his face. "This is a good thing, Alvin. With him around, many of our actions might just receive an official explanation!"

Bai Yang was not afraid of these people overthinking things. As far as he was concerned, the more they overanalyzed, the happier he was.

Because the prerequisite for falling into deep thought was their acceptance of the Worldview he had established. This point was incredibly important.

Once the seed of belief was planted, everything that followed would simply proceed methodically as a logical sequence.

"Do you need to give them more hints?" Alvin asked curiously.

"No, no, no!" Bai Yang shook his head. "Quite the opposite. From this moment on, no more hints are needed. Any further nudges would just be adding a dog's tail to a sable coat, ruining the masterpiece!"

"We have invested enough in this city. Desire, profit, and Divine Faith will all drive them to complete their respective parts."

"I need them to exercise their own subjective initiative to stir up a Supernatural Calamity in this city!"Bai Yang's gaze drifted into the distance, looking toward the southern part of Queens, deep within a secluded Slum.

There, a heavily wounded "wolf" slowly lowered its battered body...

...

Inside the conference room.

"In other words, these types of supernatural crises might continue to occur endlessly in the future?" Stephen immediately latched onto this possibility, speaking with evident astonishment.

"Are they not already happening?" Professor Thomas shrugged. "San Diego, Luo City, New York... In just a short month, three cities, more than a dozen Transcendent Beings, and gods from two different Divine Pantheons..."

"Has all of this not served as a wake-up call for you?"

"And regarding the rest of the world, is it that such crises have not occurred, or have they happened without us even knowing?"

Hearing those words, everyone fell into a long, profound silence.

Ultimately, Golden Hair chose to step forward and shoulder this unique responsibility. He was indeed the king of lies, a man who never took the blame, and someone who always claimed victory, but as the Great Leader, he still possessed the necessary resolve to lead.

He knew the flaws of this country. He recognized its underlying problems, and he was fully aware that he could not solve these deep-seated issues on his own just yet.

Thus, he went around the world scrounging for funds, all to keep this massive machine running and to ensure there would come a day when his power could truly be realized!

But faced with Professor Thomas's conjecture, Golden Hair, an absolutely fully evolved political animal, thought of a possibility that filled him with boundless excitement!

If Demons truly existed, could he not publicize these Monsters and turn them into America's new public enemy, replacing the terrorists of the past?

Back in the day, that fellow Bush Jr. managed to use a terrifying disaster to guide the national sentiment. Why couldn't he do the same?

As long as he could harness those emotions, he could twist this loose, divided nation back into a tightly woven rope, transforming it into a sharp blade in his hands!

Then he would once again gain the approval of the citizens, becoming a truly powerful Great Leader rather than the crippled figurehead he currently was.

Thinking of this, Golden Hair looked at Leon and George, asking very directly, "If I give you sufficient authority and backing from The Federation, can you help us protect America?"

Hearing this, Leon and George shook their heads in perfect unison before declaring loudly, "No, Your Excellency the Great Leader. Not just America, but this mortal realm!"

"We will help The Lord protect this mortal realm until His radiance truly descends, until the light belonging to The Lord is genuinely spread across this entire world!"

A bright smile appeared on Golden Hair's face. These two were even more cooperative than he had imagined. "Is that so? That is simply wonderful. Whose help do you require? The Pope?"

Leon thought for a moment and gave a slight nod. "Of course we do. We also want to know exactly what kind of foundational strength The Church currently retains!"

...

"Foundational strength?"

Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica. After receiving the formal diplomatic note from the Great Leader of America, the current Pope, Mario, looked at the group of old geezers before him with evident confusion.

The men standing before him were, of course, the most powerful figures in the Roman Catholic Holy See, the legendary Cardinals.

The bishops, dressed in their scarlet robes, stared at the screen in front of them with their eyes wide open like saucers.

"I want to know, when you all elected me to be the Pope, did you truly hand over the entire authority of The Church to me?" Mario looked at the crowd before him with an unfriendly expression.

Displayed before them was a series of reports sent from the United States regarding the manifestations of Angels and Saints, including the "judgment" at the Garden Cathedral in San Diego, and the Descent of the Saint in the skies above New York!

Naturally, this also included Golden Hair's public speech:

"This is a massive disaster, but it is also a beautiful encounter. Our America is a nation protected by God, and The Lord is watching over us!"

"Though the Demons are powerful, we also have the assistance of Angels. This is America's good fortune, and our good fortune as well!"

"God bless America!"

This performance, which bordered on an open endorsement, sent a shockwave of uproar across the globe. It also left these men in the Vatican feeling even more bewildered.

In truth, they had already known about the events in California. Although the vast majority of the public was kept in the dark, the Cardinal representing California had sent them the information long ago.

Of course, at that time, none of them had paid it much mind. They had fabricated plenty of these so-called Divine Miracles themselves. In order to maintain faith, they would often deliberately orchestrate such events.

They had not cared much, nor had they entertained many thoughts regarding Cardinal Jared Bryan's claims of "restoring the glory of The Church."

But now, with the formal diplomatic note sent by the Great Leader of America, everything was clearly different.

The things they had previously dismissed as Lies were actually real. Angels and Saints had truly descended, and Demons had actually arrived. This completely threw them into a panic!

Now, it wasn't just Pope Mario; even the Cardinals before him were beginning to wonder if The Church itself had lost some crucial part of its heritage.

Or perhaps, when they had assumed their current positions, the old geezers who had handed power over to them had hidden a great deal of secrets, which was why they felt so helpless now?

Some of them even wondered if they should go dig up a few graves. Had those old geezers really taken the secrets to their graves?

And now, new information had arrived!

Over in New York, there was a member from the earliest knightly order families, the Lancocci family of the Knights Templar. Furthermore, there was a believer whom the Archangel Michael had proclaimed a Saint, and who had even received the legacy of St. George!

And they wanted to rely on the local Government to rebuild a Church system related to themselves. This was the true reason why Golden Hair had sent a formal note to the Vatican!

America was a nation where eighty-five percent of the population was Christian; naturally, they were far more willing to believe in such matters!

Hearing this news, Pope Mario could no longer sit still. Disregarding his frail, elderly body, he rapidly commanded.

"Prepare a plane. I am going to New York!"

"This new Church system must be established under the watchful eye of the Roman Catholic Holy See. If those other factions beat us to it, it will be an absolute disaster!"

He was, of course, referring to the leaders of Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Judaism. Naturally, with so many denominations in America, others might try to forcefully insert themselves into the situation as well. This was something they absolutely could not accept!

"Crown, we will accompany you!" the crowd declared loudly. This was no mere political stunt; it was a crucial action that could cement their legitimate status!

As the Pope, Mario was certainly qualified to be addressed as "Crown," for he was the universally acknowledged Walker of God on Earth within the Catholic Church, the true God's Spokesperson.

However, saying it was one thing; he could not simply depart on a whim. Flight routes and itineraries had to be meticulously planned, especially considering he was an octogenarian who required careful accommodations.

"It is time for The Church to undergo some changes!" Mario mused, his eyes reflecting deep contemplation as he watched the Cardinals frantically bustling about.

The previously fragmented structure of The Church was finally shifting. This Pope, who had always been a reformist at heart, now found himself harboring the desire to push for further reforms.

This development actually earned the Pope a bit more appreciation from Bai Yang, who was observing from afar. "Hmm, a Pope with subjective initiative is always better than those merely being a figurehead. This presents a great opportunity, a chance for me to add a little something extra for them!"

Alvin's voice chimed in at the perfect moment. He had been monitoring a specific location in Queens. "Crown, Remus has indeed returned to New York, but he is currently severely injured."

"It is good that he is severely injured. If he were not, how else could the other part of the power within him be put to use?"

Bai Yang smiled and snapped his fingers, his figure instantly vanishing from where he stood.
