From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 460: Warning from Lucifer

Chapter 460: Warning from Lucifer

Yes, this was a teaching moment, plain for anyone to see.

The very moment Livia pulled the sword from the stone, the demon ceased to be a threat.

In the past, after King Arthur drew the Sword in the Stone, not even the opposition of countless nobles nor endless waves of attacks could stop her from becoming the supreme ruler of all Camelot!

The same applied now. The moment Livia drew Dream Weaver, she was no longer a simple participant in the trials; she became the new King of this realm.

Even though her coronation ceremony had not yet begun and the news had not been proclaimed across the land, she already wielded substantive power.

The two sword-wielders, two Kings of Great Britain, had completed their exchange without speaking a single word to one another.

The soul that materialized before them had long lost its former arrogance, leaving behind nothing but sheer terror.

"I... I plead guilty! I am willing to accept punishment!"

To demons, Hell was their ultimate safety net. Their souls did not belong to them, but to Satan.

Under these circumstances, death was merely the destruction of the physical body. They never had to worry about having their souls entirely obliterated. The demon realized that throwing his weight around in front of the Church was fine. After all, not every Transcendent Being within the Church possessed the power to judge souls. As long as he avoided provoking major threats like the Cardinals, he always had a chance to turn the tables.

But in the presence of two true Kings, all his schemes and inner calculations evaporated into nothingness. The soul-escape techniques that would be incredibly troublesome for ordinary Transcendent Beings could be sealed away by these monarchs with a single command.

"This is the right of the King of Britain!" Unfortunately for the demon, her words did not even make King Arthur turn her head. The blond youth spoke to Livia with utmost seriousness, "You must remember, you are not a simple warrior. You are a King!"

"The King of Britain is more than just a title. It signifies the sovereign of this land, its master and its commander. You possess the right to control everything within this territory!"

"The rise and fall of this land are intrinsically tied to you. Your path to kingship begins with the crisis right before your eyes!"

The legendary monarch spoke with ease. "Behind you stand the Druids, the Celtic gods, and the entire populace of Great Britain. You have an obligation—a duty—to lead your people toward a brighter future!"

"Are you ready?"

"I will protect this realm with my life!"

The demon was still left hanging suspended in the sky while the passing of the torch between the old and new Kings unfolded below. It was undeniably a bizarre sight.

Yet, a profound sense of ancient, desolate majesty clearly permeated their exchange.

The ancient sovereign recounted tales to the new King, guiding the young ruler on how to properly defend the realm.

This scene left almost every descendant of Celtic heritage utterly mesmerized. It brought their minds back to that era of myth, the glorious age of King Arthur's legend.

In those days, King Arthur had been truly invincible, leading the Knights of the Round Table to chase down fleeing enemies, conquer vast lands, and even march into Europe to defeat the Roman court!

The populace of that era lived well. Everyone enjoyed a comfortable existence; it was their golden age.

Their intense yearning generated a massive surge of Wish Power, which concentrated entirely upon the two Kings. This influx made the connection between them even smoother.

Such a spectacular scene and high concentration of Wish Power genuinely surprised Bai Yang.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing the Wish Power radiating from the two monarchs. 'They actually became Wish Power relays? This vibrant Wish Power is willingly converging onto them instead of dispersing outward?'

This particular point astonished Bai Yang. He had always assumed that Wish Power could only be diffused, collected, or gathered by Supernatural Items. To his surprise, right here in this realm, his previous theories were completely overturned. Both Kings harbored vast amounts of Wish Power. It wasn't just passively flowing through them; they were actively accumulating and wielding it, almost as if they themselves had become Supernatural Items!

'This is simply unbelievable. There shouldn't be much difference between them and the others from before, right?'

"Why is that?" Bai Yang asked aloud, his eyes shining with curiosity and a burning desire to investigate. The foundational rules for creating every Transcendent Being were supposed to be identical. Why were the rules governing Wish Power completely different for these two?

Alvin's voice seamlessly chimed in. "Your Holiness, I suspect it is because they are Kings. Within the Faith Sealing the Nation system, they represent the absolute zenith of belief!"

Hearing this, Bai Yang suddenly understood. "Are you saying that the intersection of their royal status and the Wish Power of faith passively turned them into vessels? But that doesn't make sense. Why didn't Guatmus undergo the same transformation?"

Bai Yang didn't even bother mentioning the other supernatural nations. Whether it was Sweden or Japan, the true masters of supernatural power in those places were religious sects, not kings, making them unworthy of comparison.

"It appears to be exactly so, Your Holiness!" Alvin replied. "As for Guatmus, since we constructed his world from the ground up, there was no need to account for preexisting faith dynamics, so the power was simply absorbed directly! In this world, however, the existing system allowed them to become the direct beneficiaries of this paradigm shift!"

"Ah, that makes sense!" Bai Yang's eyes lit up. "Then there's no need to change this aspect. After all, in any mythological story, the king of a supernatural realm is always a figure of great importance. Doesn't this provide the perfect justification?"

"Furthermore, the existence of supernatural kings is a dynamic change that will further elevate the Wish Power concentration within these nations!"

In countless mythologies, kings might not always be the absolute crux of the narrative, but they were undeniably crucial and definitely occupied a specific ecological niche. Previously, Bai Yang hadn't figured out how to balance the relationship between transcendent powers and the mortal monarchs of these realms. Now, he finally had his answer!

Kings commanding Wish Power might not be able to actively cast it as magic, but their authority over the flow of that power could cause Transcendent Beings a great deal of trouble if they stepped out of line. Wasn't this exactly the purpose of a king?

Stabilizing a nation's supernatural system and centralizing all its Wish Power would save Bai Yang a massive amount of effort. Because of this, he had absolutely no intention of altering this new gathering method.

"In the future, there will be many nations and countless worlds. The quality of these realms will vary greatly, and each will possess its own unique sociopolitical systems. This might just serve as an excellent test run..."

Bai Yang's motives were incredibly pure: any concept that helped build and reinforce his Godhood Conferral system was a brilliant design!

Thus, with a casual wave of his hand, he firmly codified this new systematic rule into reality before allowing the story playing out before him to continue.

Naturally, every single move he made was meticulously planned. This planning stemmed from his absolute dominion over this world, as well as the world's complex and ever-shifting mythologies.

But this time, he needed to twist the people living beneath these mythologies together into a single, cohesive rope so he could smoothly advance the next phase of his grand scheme!

"Alvin, let's bring our Mr. Satan onto the stage!" Bai Yang said with a light chuckle. "This world has witnessed far too many glorious debuts of transcendent heroes. How could we possibly proceed without a proper villain?"

Kuchamama had merely been a prelude. This was the true unveiling of the ultimate enemy of the supernatural!

Likewise, it served as a dress rehearsal for the existential crises that the Dylan Continent might face in the future. Everything was proceeding exactly according to plan.

Consequently, while King Arthur and Livia were still deep in conversation, the sky abruptly darkened. Right before their eyes, the trembling soul of the demon was completely swallowed by the emergence of a colossal, terrifying phantom!

King Arthur snapped her head around, locking eyes with the newcomer—or rather, the newly arrived demon!

With massive, unfurled wings, a ferocious countenance, and an aura of infinitely terrifying hellfire, he looked like a walking, apocalyptic natural disaster!

"Lucifer..." King Arthur addressed the entity by name without a shred of fear. "Do you seek to ignite another Wars of the Worlds?"

Hearing King Arthur's question, the entity gave a subtle shrug. His form shifted, shrinking down from a towering, monstrous archdemon into the shape of a "human" sporting a pair of wings on his back.

He was impeccably dressed in a tailored tailcoat, accompanied by a pair of breathtakingly beautiful black wings. Under the watchful eyes of the entire world, he slowly descended from the heavens.

"No, no, no. Of course I am not here to spark the Wars of the Worlds. I merely took this opportunity to drop by and issue a warning! To the Celtic gods, or rather, the esteemed members of the Tuatha Dé Danann..."

King Arthur, who had been fully prepared to unleash her fury, froze in utter bewilderment. "A warning? You demons, born from the world shaped by Yahweh, dare come here to issue a warning to us? Have you lost your mind?"

'We don't even belong to the same Divine Pantheon! What could you possibly be warning us about?'

Lucifer shook his head, his face entirely devoid of emotion. "What if I told you... that I received an invitation for cooperation from a foreign realm?"

The moment those words fell, King Arthur's expression changed drastically!
