Chapter 440: Earth 2.0's Ambitions
Chapter 440: Earth 2.0's Ambitions
"Sixty thousand people. Tsk, will these sixty thousand be enough to complete my foundational spread of Transcendence?" Bai Yang muttered.
It was normal to have this many people, as not everyone was truly of Irish descent. In fact, out of the initial hundred thousand, less than half possessed a genuine Irish bloodline.
Therefore, once people presented their proof of lineage, a massive number of them chose to leave.
Among those who remained, many would inevitably become Transcendent Beings, reaping the benefits of this trial.
This was exactly Bai Yang's goal. Establishing the Celtic Divine Pantheon was one objective, and spreading foundational Transcendent knowledge was naturally another.
If all ten billion people across the globe could become Transcendent Beings—even at the most basic level—the Wish Power they provided would multiply tenfold from its current state!
That would be a monumental revolution, one profound enough to allow Bai Yang to complete the foundational phase of his Ten-thousand Worlds plan!
"Crown, it is actually not sixty thousand, but fifty-nine thousand!" Alvin suddenly interjected. "In just this single night, a thousand successful trial candidates have already died in the struggle to plunder Supernatural Opportunities!"
"Those brave enough to defeat Supernatural Monsters still cannot overcome the darkness of the human heart," Bai Yang remarked casually. "More of the remaining people will die, because not everyone will choose to embrace this Celtic power. Some have already sold it off!"
This was part of his Design. When he made the bone a physical, retrievable object, he had anticipated this outcome. It was originally intended as a test of character for the trial participants. He simply hadn't expected that the true participants would remain largely unaffected, while those who gave up their chance were the first to face disaster. However, this didn't affect anything. The apprentice Knight and novice Mage systems he had designed were fundamentally weighted more toward the attribute of Knowledge than actual Transcendent power.
They would only be slightly stronger than ordinary people. The Knowledge they possessed was the true prize Bai Yang specifically intended to distribute.
This Knowledge allowed them to utilize minute amounts of ambient Wish Power in the air, enabling their influence to spread further and feed back into the pool of Wish Power, achieving a certain degree of "Dynamic Equilibrium."
Of course, this "self-digesting" ability couldn't truly achieve a perfect cycle of self-sufficiency. If they relied solely on human-generated Wish Power, the ambient energy in the air would eventually be drained completely.
But Earth was not the Dylan Continent; it was merely a footnote in a much grander scheme. As long as humanity truly stepped into the Era of the Extraordinary in its entirety, the will of Earth would inevitably act to adjust the planet, making it suitable for such a massive population of Transcendent Beings.
After all, as a part of the greater Universe, the sheer volume of resources this world could mobilize was absurd, far exceeding the Upper Limit of the Dylan Continent.
Once Bai Yang finished his modifications, he would instantly harvest this perfect world. Naturally, he had to take this matter seriously!
The previous power distribution system of The Church, along with the propagation methods of various other sects, would be stimulated by the "catfish effect" of the Celtic Divine Pantheon, further accelerating their own spread of Transcendence!
"Furthermore, this popularization of Transcendence will allow ordinary people to live just a little bit better!"
Over a very long period prior to this, Bai Yang had successfully harvested more than forty percent of the planet's basic-level Wish Power.
Though forty percent might not sound like much, it was actually a staggering figure, considering that less than fifty percent of the world's population was truly connected to the internet.
As for the remainder, they were either in undeveloped regions, caught in the throes of war, or simply spending every waking moment struggling for their next meal. These people had neither the possibility nor the time to contribute Divine Faith to Bai Yang.
However, with the popularization of Transcendent knowledge, those capable of harvesting Divine Faith from Wish Power would gain the ability to seek out Divine Grace.
For one thing, the method of converting Wish Power into food was quite simple and highly efficient—enough to keep many of the impoverished alive.
This was the tried-and-true secret the gods of the Dylan Continent used for Spreading Faith. Although the bread created by the "Bread Conjuration" spell didn't taste very good, it kept people alive, and that was more than enough!
If he could save those starving masses from Death, then the fact that Bai Yang had indirectly caused the demise of three hundred thousand people over two days wouldn't matter in the slightest!
His Wish Power-generating population would only grow larger, never smaller.
The departure of sixty thousand people did not diminish the world's focus on London; in fact, the attention only intensified.
This was because the remaining forty thousand were all resolutely determined candidates ready to embark on their journey.
They had stepped forward just as the Sun cast its first rays, approaching the illusory Tree of Life to extract their Bones of Darkness and place them upon its branches.
A moment later, a peculiar door appeared before the candidates, guiding them inside. Everyone had their own personal door, and they entered without much hesitation. Those who had passed the first trial certainly did not lack courage, so they all marched right in.
The instant they crossed the threshold, the black bones automatically shattered and merged into their bodies.
The power known as "Transcendence" seemed to trigger certain physiological changes within them.
Little did they know, this was actually an "adaptation" template loaded into them by a black-hearted Capitalist named "Bai Yang." The destination they were arriving at was an entirely new planet featuring a dense atmosphere and temperatures quite similar to Earth's.
It was the terrestrial exoplanet Kepler-452b, located roughly 1,402 light-years away—a celestial body bearing a striking resemblance to Earth.
It boasted a thick atmosphere, with a mass five times that of Earth, a volume 1.6 times larger, and a gravitational pull more than double what they were used to.
Bai Yang had previously utilized his spatial authority, consecutively jumping through more than fourteen Spatial Channels to reach this planet before locking onto its exact coordinates.
He had to admit, the scientists in America really knew their stuff. By observing this planet through the Hubble Space Telescope, they had accurately calculated its mass, volume, and location, even confirming its status as a terrestrial planet. This had saved Bai Yang a massive amount of trouble.
But it was only upon arriving here in person that Bai Yang discovered just how perfect this planet truly was.
It orbited a star nearly identical to the Sun. Looking up at the host star from the planet's surface, it appeared exactly the same size as the Sun did from Earth.
Furthermore, its temperatures were surprisingly agreeable—at least on the continent Bai Yang had selected. The climate was remarkably suitable, with a high of ninety degrees Celsius and a low of minus one hundred and ten degrees Celsius.
The only slight drawback was the planet's lack of oxygen. The thick atmosphere consisted almost entirely of carbon dioxide and nitrogen, robbing the world of any potential to naturally support carbon-based life!
For Bai Yang, however, this was absolutely fantastic news!
He planted the Tree of Life on this planet, right by the Ocean on its largest continent. With both land and sea, it had all the foundational elements it needed. As for anything else, it could naturally be acquired through this very trial!
That was right! Bai Yang's plan was to use these candidates—who had just stepped into the realm of Transcendence—to complete the initial construction of this planet!
He also wanted to see the difference in construction speed between the Americas Tribe, forged from a hundred thousand ordinary Souls, and these forty thousand Transcendent Beings.
To prevent them from immediately dropping dead upon arrival, Bai Yang had thoughtfully prepared Transcendent adaptation abilities for them.
"Ah, having these candidates do my manual labor under the guise of a trial while making them feel deeply grateful to me—how wonderful!" Bai Yang said with a beaming smile. He watched the "Tree of Life" slowly grow before him, blanketing the area in lush green grass according to his Design.
He had to admit, even though both utilized Transcendent Power, the speed at which the Tree of Life terraformed this planet was significantly faster than his progress on the planet near Proxima Centauri.
"So this is the power of natural authority..." Bai Yang murmured, beginning to understand. He came to a halt beneath the tree, and beside him, the figure of "Merlin" slowly materialized.
The old Mage stood by the Tree of Life with a warm smile and unfurled a special magical screen.
At the exact same moment, an identical screen materialized in the skies above London.
On the screen, the figures of those who had just stepped through the portals appeared before the public. Various Media outlets and live-streaming platforms executed the perfect close-ups, ensuring that audiences worldwide witnessed the scene the moment it happened.
Simultaneously, Merlin's voice echoed out, "The Heart of Nature is hidden within this unfamiliar world. Seek out the Tree of Life to claim your Seed of Life. Plant the seed, and you will earn the favor of the Heart of Nature!"
"However, this place is not Heaven. It is a unique, nearly primordial continent. Every danger you face is a test bestowed upon you by nature itself!"
"Go forth! Plant the Seeds of Life, and harvest the Heart of Nature!"
Forty thousand tree planters, secured!
