From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 420: Vengeance of the Dead

Chapter 420: Vengeance of the Dead

In Bai Yang's grand design, the "Faith Sealing the Nation" plan was naturally magnificent, as it represented the complete materialization of Wish Force and the smooth circulation of energy.

The excess Wish Force he hadn't absorbed could still accomplish quite a bit, even continuing the Ascension of this planet, which was simply excellent.

In certain places he hadn't yet attended to, this Wish Force would naturally transform and begin reshaping the world, such as upon this very land.

When speaking of Ireland, what usually comes to mind?

A beautiful country? The sworn enemy of the British? The pearl of the Atlantic Ocean? The last pure Offspring of the Celtic People?

Or perhaps the tragic survivors of famine, the victims of that terrifying disaster, and the grim legacy of Queen Victoria's reign?

For most people, it was likely the latter.

Therefore, guided by the Wish Force, the very first thing Bai Yang discovered was this nation's intense Hatred and resentment that simply cannot be dissolved.

Thinking about it, it actually made perfect sense. Given the sheer scale of enmity between these two nations, forget mere resentment—even if they directly manifested as Vengeful Ghosts, he would still find it entirely reasonable!

After all, under the incredibly wicked deeds of the British Empire, this country had nearly been wiped off the map! This disaster occurred 160 years ago and was known as the Irish Great Famine.

It was a horrific humanitarian catastrophe. Due to a blight that struck the Potato crops, the harvest in Ireland that year was almost a total failure, and for the next few years, yields never exceeded 30% of their previous levels.

It must be known that because the Irish People were ruled by Englishmen, the vast majority of their fertile lands had been stolen away, leaving them no choice but to grow potatoes on barren soil just to survive.

Yet even so, the English Farmers still subjected them to a Heavy Tax, forcing them into hard labor. In some areas, they even plundered what little food they had left.

When the disaster struck, over 3 to 4 million people were left with no source of food. The Great Britain authorities offered absolutely no relief; instead, they chose this exact moment to ship the last remaining food off the island!

Yes, that was exactly what they did. And their reasoning was brutally simple: they considered the people on this island a burden and felt it would be better if they all died off completely.

Just how inhumane were the Great Britain authorities?

During that period, America exported massive quantities of grain to England. These shipments passed right by Ireland, yet not a single grain ever reached the hands of the famine victims.

Beyond that, they restricted food imports in various places, making it blatantly obvious that they intended to starve the people of this land to death.

Put it this way: at the time, the Ottoman Empire was widely considered by the whole of Europe to be the most inhumane, brutal, and ruthless nation, with its ruler dubbed a Tyrant. Yet even the monarch of such a ruthless nation couldn't stomach Great Britain's actions and announced donations and aid for the Refugees.

He declared a donation of 10,000 pounds. However, because Queen Victoria forbade it (as she had only donated 2,000 pounds herself), he was forced to reduce his official donation to 1,000 pounds.

The Sultan of that era also secretly arranged for 3 ships of grain to be sent to Ireland. Why in secret? Because publicly sending food would have been intercepted by the British of the time. This was true history.

Even more remarkably, those ships never reached Ireland either, because the merciful Queen Victoria ordered them to be sunk.

Yes, they refused to save the people themselves, forbade others from helping, and actively drained the island of its food. This was Great Britain during the Victorian era.

Subsequently, out of a full 8.2 million people on this island, only 2.8 million remained over the course of 11 years. More than a quarter of the population perished in this Famine, while countless others fell into utter Despair regarding this land and gradually emigrated away.

As for those who stayed, they harbored a bone-deep hatred toward a certain nation, survived tenaciously, and ultimately achieved their country's independence, forcefully tearing themselves away from a certain Empire on Which the Sun Never Sets!

Generally speaking, anywhere you needed to cause trouble for Englishmen or the Anglo-Saxon establishment, you could always call upon the Irish People for backup. You wouldn't need to worry about a thing; they would be your natural allies!

When it came to the aura of death, the people buried beneath this land certainly had a lot to say.

In this terrifying humanitarian disaster, over the span of 11 years, the number of people who starved or died of illness reached upwards of 2 million.

This staggering loss of Population meant that even 160 years later, this country still hadn't recovered its former population peak, and many were still living in the aftermath of that horrific disaster. Translating this to the nation before him, it manifested in Bai Yang's eyes as an almost visible Hatred and aura of death!

"I really have to thank Great Britain for their immense wickedness!" Bai Yang muttered as he studied these elements and reviewed the history. Now, he had a flawless plan regarding the power and history of the Celtic Pantheon!

If Great Britain hadn't left him such rich assets, he wouldn't have known quite how to begin his work!

"Great Britain is truly fascinating, leaving behind so much Political Legacy. If India hadn't already been arranged—since they possess a similar legacy—I could definitely use it to make those Brits pay a heavy price!"

Bai Yang couldn't help but remark. In his recent High-Dimensional Information Probing, he had seen the number of people who died in the Indian famines, and it was even more absurd. Across multiple major famines in India, the inhumane actions of Great Britain caused over 50 million people to starve to death on that land!

What an unbelievably massive pool of power that was! However, those people didn't seem to possess any sense of Hatred, nor did it appear possible to draw any power from them.

Thinking up to this point, Bai Yang didn't dwell on it further. India was truly a bizarre country; so many millions starved to death, yet the victims didn't even know how or why they starved. Tsk.

As Bai Yang pondered this, the movements of his hands didn't slow down in the slightest. He traced out a special arc, and then, from this very land, he drew out streaks of faint, hazy Souls!

This was also a manifestation of the improvement in Bai Yang's abilities. Previously, he only viewed these Souls as tiny fragments of the world's Consciousness feeding back into the high-dimensional information stream.

But now, due to the perfection of the "Faith Sealing the Nation" plan, what were originally just supposed to be informational streams of so-called Souls were gradually transforming into a usable power under Bai Yang's guidance.

He could now draw out these special Souls from that Specious Appearance of history. Naturally, such Souls were incredibly useful; they could be used to populate his Underworld, or they could be channeled to serve as the foundation for a new Divine Pantheon.

Of course, this new Divine Pantheon couldn't just drop an entire anchor right off the bat like the other pantheons had; there was simply no need for that.

Bai Yang decided to place the Celtic Pantheon in a position similar to that of Takamagahara in Japanese Mythology—present, but lacking the status of a Supreme God pantheon.

It was a tiny nation. Without the aggressive expansion of the Vikings, without the generation-to-generation legacy of Greece and Rome, and without Ancient Egypt spreading across North Africa, it naturally lacked the qualifications to become a Supreme God pantheon.

But it was enough. The pantheon of a small region still possessed the vast market of the entire Commonwealth. If they could seize the opportunity, exploring higher realms wasn't entirely out of the question!

If these people were smart enough, Bai Yang wouldn't mind performing an Ascension operation for their pantheon.

However, it was still too early to talk about all that. What he needed to prepare now was the Script for the Resurrection of the Dead!

The beauty of this script lay in the fact that he didn't even need to search for a location. In this country, almost every single plot of land was the burial ground for deceased Irish People!

Their cause of Death also entirely stemmed from that terrible Great Famine.

Bai Yang had also discovered that Deceased People who died naturally possessed very little Spirituality. It seemed almost entirely depleted. They were just ordinary Souls with little practical use, so they could be sent directly to The Core to serve as backup souls for the new world.

As for the rest, they were all Souls filled with Grudge and power. Harboring immense Hatred, they were drawn out by Bai Yang, though they looked incredibly frail and despondent.

Because these people had all starved to death, their forms appeared Incomplete and Skinny. The sheer agony brought about by starvation only amplified their bitter resentment.

It was precisely this bitter resentment that gave Bai Yang the idea for a unique point of entry into this event.

"Let's start from here!" Bai Yang looked toward Northern Ireland, where there were still some people carrying out their fierce resistance!

"Crumbling United Kingdom, are you ready for your enemies to wield power?" Bai Yang asked with a beaming smile.

Desiring the influence of the Commonwealth didn't stop Bai Yang from enjoying the show. After all, the deep Hatred between these two nations had never truly been resolved. After all, England still occupied their land!

This was also the perfect opportunity for a small Divine Pantheon to show off its strength!
