From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 41: Battle Through the Storm

Chapter 41: Battle Through the Storm

Five minutes before missile launch.

"They really have some guts, huh? They even prepared missiles?" The Hummer trailed behind the main military police force, with journalist Alex Sheffield inside, his face flushed with excitement.

The journalist was busy clicking away with his camera below, while Bai Yang on the roof admired the information he had obtained.

Alvin said worriedly, "Your Grace, we can certainly prevent the missile from hitting Jeron, but it would require a significant cost, which doesn't seem quite worth it..."

"Hey, when doing things, you can use your brain a little!" Bai Yang was quite concerned about Alvin's mental capacity. "Don't rely on Divine Power to solve everything. Actually, we have the smallest cost method to destroy this missile!"

"You mean... using the authority of lies to restrict the missile?" Alvin said thoughtfully. "But wouldn't that affect your design?"

"No, not only won't it affect my design, it will enhance it!" Bai Yang said with a smile, looking up at the sky. "These are cumulonimbus clouds. They've been here for so long, it should rain now!"

As soon as he finished speaking, torrential rain poured down from the sky!

...

"Dammit! Why did it have to rain right now!" Alex was very displeased. He retracted his camera and carefully wiped off the rainwater. He had taken such great risks to capture these photos, and he couldn't let them be ruined by water damage.

But as he put away his camera, he noticed someone seemed to be standing next to his vehicle.

He instinctively wanted to see who it was, but suddenly realized something was wrong—his vehicle was currently on an elevated highway, parked by the roadside where there was no ground beside it, but rather a sheer drop of over ten meters!

In such a place, how could there be someone standing?

Alex rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was seeing things, but the next second, he suddenly lost consciousness.

The car door opened, and Alex with somewhat dazed eyes stepped out of the vehicle, looked up at the tornado in the sky, and then stepped upward into the air as if walking on solid ground.

This scene went unnoticed by anyone, but soon, as he approached the tornado through the heavy rain, the National Guard's radar detected him!

"Sir, there's an unknown flying object approaching our target!" Joris heard his subordinate's report.

Joris leaned out of the vehicle, braving the pouring rain, and walked to the radar truck. Gao followed behind him.

Inside the radar truck, they saw the small reflection signal and were also quite curious.

"A drone? Impossible. In this kind of wind, what aircraft could approach so steadily? Even helicopters would be blown away!"

"It can't be some reflective flying object, can it? The flight path doesn't make sense either—it's approaching against the wind, not being drawn in..."

The two studied it for a while but couldn't figure out what was happening, so they simply gave up. "Let's check what's happening with the cameras over there!"

Because they had been bombed by their own weapons, their forces had been reduced by one-tenth, and morale had fallen to an unprecedented low. They no longer had any intention of confronting that monster.

Since they had already requested the cruise missile launch, they might as well wait for now.

If the missile proved effective, they would immediately withdraw and let various military bases, ships, and launch vehicles conduct saturation bombing!

Let the foreign deity taste the power of modern weapons!

However, before they could get the cameras deployed, soldiers from outside came in. "Sir, we can see the target—it's a person!"

"A person?" Both men were stunned, then hurried out of the radar truck to look up at the sky.

It really was a person—a man wearing a polo shirt who looked somewhat disheveled, stepping straight through the air as if walking on solid ground, approaching the tornado.

And the person within the wind also stepped out to confront him after the man arrived.

"This couldn't be... another entity, could it?" Joris suddenly said. He had experienced the San Diego Garden Church incident and remembered vividly the confrontation between Gabriel and Lucifer.

And this time, could it be again...

He immediately found the embedded journalist and had him use the highest-definition camera to start filming the two "people."

Then, Joris found the most skilled lip-reading expert from the Los Angeles Police Department, wanting him to decipher what these two superhuman beings were saying!

But unfortunately, watching the two people conversing in front of the massive tornado, the lip-reading expert was helpless. "Sir, they're not using English, nor common Indigenous language vocabulary. I can't identify it!"

"But how did we all understand what he said earlier?" Gao said beside him.

"But could you identify what language he was speaking earlier?" the lip-reading expert countered.

This statement silenced everyone present. They truly couldn't remember what language the earlier words were in—it was as if they just knew the meaning.

However, the two figures above seemed to have finished their conversation, and their emotions suddenly became intense, even starting to fight!

"Boom!" The initial man, Quetzalcoatl possessing Jeron, took the first action!

A terrifying storm uprooted two trees and, with immense force, hurled them at the man who had arrived later.

The man being attacked naturally didn't hesitate either. He waved his arms, and the rain throughout the sky seemed to come alive, forming a massive "water shield" around him that blocked the wind and tree attacks!

A tremendous roar let the observing humans below hear the Wind Controller's words: "Tlaloc! For the sake of a group of Foreign God's believers, are you going to war with me?"

This time, they heard it very clearly—still that unknown type of language, yet they could understand the meaning.

Tlaloc, the rain god in Aztec mythology, like the Feathered Serpent God, belonged to the creator gods.

The voice belonging to the Water Controller sounded almost instantly after he spoke: "Quetzalcoatl! Aren't there your creations and descendants of believers remaining in this city?"

"So what? Those who blaspheme against gods should be severely punished!" A massive storm raged behind him, seemingly intent on destroying the world.

"But you can punish sinners without destroying the world!" Torrential rain poured down, these raindrops stubbornly blocking the wind's advance, preventing it from moving forward!

Despite being world-destroying winds, they couldn't exert any power under the obstruction of these raindrops.

Gao and Joris watched from a distance. They were people who knew the whole story, so they understood even better what this situation meant!

A deity seemingly of the same kind as the Feathered Serpent God had arrived, blocking his intention to destroy the world!

And just at that moment, a bright light streaked across the sky—the missile that had been launched earlier had finally arrived!

This Tomahawk cruise missile weighed 1,400 kilograms with a 400-kilogram warhead, possessing terrifying power capable of leveling an area the size of a football field.

Now, it had arrived at the battle scene between the two deities and plunged straight in without hesitation!

Everyone—the forces on the ground, high officials in the command room, observers at the launch platform—were all watching the missile's attack effectiveness!

Some even prayed to the heavens, hoping this missile would deliver a powerful blow to both these "deities"!

Just as the missile was about to reach the two figures, with the detonator even prepared to manually detonate the missile, one of the two noticed the attack's arrival.

So, Tlaloc, the rain god who controlled water, curiously raised a hand. The Tomahawk missile, originally moving at extreme speed, actually slowed to a stop and came to his side.

This person looked at the missile larger than himself, his eyes seemingly filled with inquiry and curiosity.

With one hand, he blocked the hurricane attacking from beside him, while with the other hand, he held the missile, examining it from side to side.

After observing for a while, he seemed to grow bored, so he threw the missile back out. The massive object weighing over a ton was casually tossed behind him in full view of everyone, landing somewhere in the city where there were some tall buildings.

"Boom!" An entire building collapsed amid the roar and explosion, yet it didn't attract the slightest attention from the two combatants.

Only the roar of Quetzalcoatl, the Wind God, still echoed in everyone's ears: "Tlaloc! Don't get distracted, face me properly!"

He seemed angered by the other's distraction to look at the missile, becoming more combative and feeling that the other wasn't respecting him.

Amid his explosive roar was the human crowd that had been somewhat silenced by this "playful" treatment of the missile.

That was a Tomahawk missile! A weapon that could destroy countries with just a few hundred of them back in the day! Couldn't you... show it even a little bit of respect?

Complete disregard, complete indifference, complete unconcern! This was more disheartening than attention!

Even Newland could only feel an indescribable despair growing in his heart.

When facing "gods," were they truly helpless?

...

Meanwhile, under the terrifying pressure of the strong winds and heavy rain, a bulletproof car carrying two monks from the San Diego Garden Church entered Los Angeles.
