From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 375: The Song of Poseidon

Chapter 375: The Song of Poseidon

"Crown, why are we letting these people wield such immense Transcendent Power?" Alvin asked, his tone tinged with confusion as he watched the items Bai Yang tossed away with a wave of his hand. "This far exceeds the Supernatural Energy Limit you established in Japan!"

In that region of Japan, Bai Yang had set an upper limit on Transcendent Power to prevent those people from quite literally tearing the area apart.

The Onmyoji were part of that restriction, and so was Yuzamozen. This group of humans had only just acquired Transcendent Power; he could not simply let them destroy the world.

Yet in this Sea Area, Alvin watched Bai Yang casually toss several incredibly powerful Artifacts into the ocean. Without exception, every single one of those items pulsed with the power of a God—that is, Divine Authority!

Previously, Bai Yang had only granted raw power. Alvin never imagined that this time, he would actually hand out Divine Authority!

This was no laughing matter. Such power could easily lead to the complete annihilation of an entire city.

"Because this is the ocean, and because we are keeping watch!" Bai Yang said with a beaming smile. "We have to let these people see the price of Transcendent Power slipping out of control! And this ocean is the absolute best place for that!"

Alvin understood. "Crown, do you mean that no matter how severe a disaster occurs here, it will only be a maritime disaster and will not affect the land?"

"That is part of it. But my other point is that even if a massive number of people die here, it will not cause too much of a negative impact!" Bai Yang chuckled. "The souls of the dead can be used to forge a new world. That is far faster than solely developing this one!"

Since establishing his transcendent world, his need for human populations was no longer as desperate as it once was.He lifted his head, gazing out over the seemingly empty ocean, and spoke in a mild tone. "I merely want to use this place as a testing ground to see how accepting humanity on Earth is of Transcendent Power!"

"After all, this time, it is no longer the gods who hold Power, but humans!"

The expression on Bai Yang's face became somewhat enigmatic. "We are shaping gods, and gods are formed from humans. I am very curious—what is the difference between a human who has obtained a God's power and the Gods in our design?"

"I need some experimental subjects for reference. This will be tremendously helpful for my creation of the Olympian Mythology's Divine Pantheon!"

The more Bai Yang learned about Olympian Mythology, the more absurd he found it. Aside from their names and their power, the deities residing on that mountain had almost nothing in common with true divine beings.

They were neither noble, nor resilient, nor dignified, nor solemn. They did not seem like gods at all; instead, they resembled a group of mere humans wielding divine power. Shaping such highly anthropomorphic gods truly tested Bai Yang's skill.

And since he wanted to fully manifest this entire pantheon of anthropomorphic deities, he naturally required some reference points.

It was rather amusing that these so-called True Gods actually fit the criteria of the Evil Gods denounced by major religious sects perfectly.

"Alright, the stage is set, and the Artifacts are assembled. Let our actors enter!" Bai Yang finally declared. "We will let The Church handle the curtain call this time! Let our Pope Mario truly become 'The Pope'!"

The Holy Thorn Crown had been finished for quite some time now, so he naturally needed to find an excuse to bestow it upon the Pope. After all, the man had spared no effort in proselytizing, and Bai Yang wanted to give him this reward.

Having finished his preparations, he cast a glance toward a specific patch of empty space before vanishing from where he stood.

...

Elton Newland was not very happy. He had just been thoroughly chewed out by his aunt.

She had berated him for being a figurehead, lambasting him for arriving in this Sea Area so early yet failing to find a single thing.

"How is this my fault? Who could have known that this Sea Area around Jamaica would be completely barren? They managed to dredge up things in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, but I came up empty-handed. Is that really my problem?"

Elton certainly did not think so. After all, he had worked extremely hard. The amount of time he spent on this ship over the past month had almost surpassed his time on land. He even spent significantly less time taking care of those scantily-clad ladies. Was that not enough?

His mind suddenly drifted to the lively Latina with the spectacular curves he had met on the "trade ship" last night. Man, she was wild!

'Sigh... when you are not at the core of the family, you are forced to come out and do the grunt work...' Elton let out a heavy sigh. Leaning against the window in the captain's cabin, he went back to staring at the ocean before him.

Although the number of people in this region had been steadily increasing lately, these scattered ships were practically invisible across over two hundred square kilometers of the Sea Area. Once they sailed past a bay with slightly larger waves, nothing remained but the rolling swells, with no signs of any fellow travelers.

Elton picked up the documents in his hands. This was the fundamental reason Governor Nuland had dispatched him here. In a museum in Luo City, they had discovered a Ceramic Shard originating from Greece. It was engraved with miraculous images, alongside accompanying text:

"By the order of the King and the elders of the Divine Temple, we have brought what might be the final Divine Object of Athens to this ocean. It is the legendary final resting place of the Sea God Poseidon, and it is also our last hope!"

"Nothing is left of Greece. The Gods and the Divine Faith are entirely gone. Only this final curse remains here!"

"I can find Poseidon... I found Poseidon... No, He is not Poseidon..."

"My God! What have I seen? He is Poseidon... He is not Poseidon..." This was the text translated by their experts. It left many people utterly perplexed. He was Poseidon, yet not Poseidon. What on earth did that mean?

Nuland did not know, but she did know that the text on this bronze piece had emerged little by little while under Surveillance. Such a Transcendent phenomenon could not possibly be covered up.

At the same time, she learned about the events occurring in the Caribbean Sea and the existence of the Windless Graveyard. The experts then connected the two incidents. From the specious scribbles on the shard, they discovered matching islands and coastlines, which ultimately prompted Elton's current expedition.

Unfortunately, Elton flipped through these materials over and over again, yet he still could not perceive anything genuinely Transcendent about them.

Staring at the tranquil Sea Area before him, he said with a hint of sarcasm, "Is there really Transcendent Power here? Is it really Poseidon? And we can actually find it? Just how lucky would I have to be? If I truly manage to gain Transcendent Power, I am absolutely going to flood Golden Hair's house..."

However, before he could even finish his sentence, he watched in shock as the Ceramic Shard in front of him suddenly lifted into the air. Right before his eyes, it began to project a peculiar blue Radiance.

"This is..." Elton gasped in astonishment. Following the beam of blue Radiance, he realized the light extended directly toward a patch of the ocean just a short distance away!

"Could it be..." Elton instantly burst with excitement. He immediately summoned the entire crew and ordered the ship to advance in the direction guided by the blue light.

Although this vessel was registered as a civilian fishing boat, it was actually an out-and-out military ship. It had been conveniently decommissioned straight from the navy, with all its high-end specifications completely maxed out. Naturally, it was far from slow.

By early that very afternoon, Elton received definitive news. "Mr. Director, your guidance was correct. We have discovered a very unusual shipwreck on the ocean floor..."

"There are three massive gouges on the wreckage. It is extremely bizarre, almost as if..."

"As if what?" Elton pressed for an answer.

"Well, it looks as though the reason this ship sank is that it was punctured by a gigantic Trident. But how is that even possible?"

The crewman let out an incredulous laugh, but those words caused Elton to shoot up from his seat. Yes, a gigantic Trident—how could that be possible?

Yet, was not the very being they were searching for the Sea God Poseidon of Greek Mythology? And was his legendary weapon not a giant Trident?

How could it be possible? How could it not be possible!

Suddenly, a sound drifted into their ears. It was a beautiful, haunting melody, causing Elton to glare at the people around him. "Who left their Cell Phone alarm on?"

The crew exchanged bewildered glances. The sound was not coming from anyone nearby; rather, it seemed to be echoing from the surrounding ocean itself, carrying a miraculous and enchanting allure:

"The Father God's curls are anchor chains of moonlight, Pulling clusters of stars to sink into the warm current's embrace.

Oh, harp of the deep sea!

Conch shells for chalices, silver shark tails for strings, Plucking the dark tides of the abyss in a resounding Eulogy!

Raise the holy grail carved from the whales' song!

Brimming with liquid stars and the Radiance of the morning sun—

Offered to the Father God!

For the swirling vortex upon His ring, Is the cradle of our Eternal Life!"

This ballad was incredibly mesmerizing, yet it carried no malice whatsoever. They could hear it with absolute clarity; this was a song of pure praise.

And just who was the God it praised?

Gazing at the massive vortex that suddenly materialized on the sea's surface, the colossal Trident flashing faintly within its swirling depths, and the Ceramic Shard still hovering before him, Elton understood immediately!

"These are the Pirate Treasures! We found it—the treasure belonging to the Sea God Poseidon!"
