From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 333: Is This the Saintess?

Chapter 333: Is This the Saintess?

"Mr. George and Mr. Leon? Have they started fighting too? Is it a Demon? Or some other Evil God?" Caroline was mentally prepared for this.

She was kind, not stupid. She knew her own importance, so it was not strange that The Church had sent these two to protect her.

"Then let us go take a look as well, and see if there is anywhere we can help!" Caroline felt somewhat nervous for an unknown reason, asking someone to lead the way.

It was difficult for anyone else to get through, as the entire street had been locked down by the LAPD who had quickly arrived. State police and county Sheriffs from around Luo City had also rushed over, completely sealing off the area. Many people held up their Cell Phones, unable to see the specific situation.

The Police tried to persuade the onlookers to leave, as this was not a laughing matter, but it was obvious that the crowd had no intention of departing.

The people of America held a very binary view of law enforcement: small-town Sheriffs were good guys, while City Police were entirely bad. Because of this, some had even started clashing with the officers.

However, the crowd was soon pushed aside, because Caroline had arrived.

She stepped to the front of the crowd, frowning as she saw so many people wanting to witness this Supernatural Combat.

"Supernatural Combat is not child's play. It will cause a great many deaths, Mr. Sheriff!" she said to the Sheriff beside her who was trying to escort her onto the battlefield.

The Sheriff looked somewhat helpless. He carried orders from Joris, the Luo City Police Chief, to ensure Caroline's safety, but the situation here was truly not optimistic."I am very sorry, Miss Saintess. We do not have enough police force to evacuate this many people! I must ask the Governor and see if we can dispatch the National Guard here to help!"

Caroline shook her head. "That is not what I meant, Mr. Sheriff. I can make these people leave!"

"You can?" The Sheriff was taken aback. "If it poses no danger to you, please do give it a try. Although this city is corrupt, there are still many people who have to live here..."

Hearing this, Caroline smiled and said, "I know, Sheriff. Although this world is wicked, there are always beautiful people in it, aren't there?"

Under the gaze of many, she slowly knelt down in front of the crowd. The Crystal on her chest bloomed with a brilliant white light, causing everyone to look sideways in awe!

"O merciful Shepherd!

You who once made the Bedrock flow with honey, I now pray that You break my Ribs to form a spring for the fugitives!

O chaste dove!

Take the fragrance of jasmine in my bosom, And brew it into an elixir of intoxication for the wolf of Lies:

"May they smell this fragrance and behold a sea of Lilies, Let bows and arrows fall away, and the hilts of blades sprout anew!"

O Lamb of the eternal covenant!

Nail me to the clapper to serve as the great bell:

"May every toll of the bell be a Blessing of the holy sacrament!

Look! This is the holy sacrament I receive in advance—

I beseech You to break this wheat and pave a path of peace:

Let the coughs of the old man in the east alley vanish into the evening breeze, Wrap the cries of the infant on the west street in cobwebs and dewdrops, And seal the tightly clasped fingers of the lovers at the south gate.

Let thorns make way for roses!

Until their toes touch the green grass, My flesh is fit to serve as a boundary stone."

The prayer of the Saintess was unlike any other. Those gentle words, like a soft breeze, materialized in everyone's ears, leaving profound shock in their eyes the moment they heard them!

What kind of prayer was this... What kind of voice was this, that seemed to calm every restless soul?

In this noisy place, the voice of the Saintess miraculously caused many people to simply stop their clamoring, looking around in bewilderment.

Then, they saw the young girl behind them, kneeling on the ground, praying word by word.

They heard the girl's words, understood their meaning, and grasped some of the Mystery hidden within them.

"Is this... the prayer of the Saintess? She is Blessing us, telling us that it is dangerous here and we should leave quickly..."

Even illiterate passersby could feel this special concern. That gentle whispering, that willingness to bear their Sin so they could leave quickly—everyone seemed able to feel it.

"Even the Saintess is telling us it's dangerous. Shouldn't we leave right away?" some Believers said.

Bennett Angus's changes in this city were already beginning to show. Many Believers realized this and, not wanting to cause trouble for the Saintess, bowed to the kneeling girl on the street before hurrying away. They believed in The Church and believed in the Saintess; they knew what The Church was like now, so they left very quickly.

The radiance of Wish Power showered down upon them, seeming to make their footsteps much lighter.

The departure of these Believers cut the Police's pressure in half. The streets even loosened up considerably, making the officers gaze at Caroline with even greater admiration.

This was the Saintess. A single prayer could mobilize so many Believers. If she held a public Worship, how many people would she draw? It was simply unimaginable!

Furthermore, Caroline's prayer was not over yet. She continued to murmur softly, allowing many who had not initially noticed her to see this young girl glowing with pure white light.

"Why do I feel the pressure getting heavier here? But leaving makes it lessen?"

"I feel it too, as if someone is urging me to leave!"

People spoke out of Curiosity, conversing with one another before rushing away. They walked even faster, as if they had seen a Ghost.

This astonished the Sheriff even more. This actually worked? As expected of the Saintess—Blessing the Believers and driving away the non-believers. Now, only those filming remained.

"Your Highness the Saintess, you have been of great help to us!" the Sheriff said.

Caroline shook her head. "It is not I who helped you, but you who helped me... Without your blockade, they would have definitely gotten caught up in this battle. If our fighting caused many ordinary people to get hurt, I would be very sad."

The girl's words caused the surrounding people to freeze while filming. How long had it been since they last heard such pure and kind words?

Everyone else was just thinking about making money. Only she would worry about whether anyone would get hurt.

So, is this the Saintess?

This kindness even made many feel ashamed of their own unworthiness. Some had even speculated earlier—could the so-called Saintess just be a female Transcendent Being, a combatant?

Perhaps she was just beautiful, brought in to win over hearts and engage in Gathering Faith!

But now, they understood that this was not the case.

The Saintess was simply the Saintess, a truly holy woman. She was a young girl who prayed for the happiness of Believers and ordinary people alike. She was innocent and pure, seemingly without a speck of defilement, doing her utmost to consider everyone's well-being.

Caroline continued forward, saying softly, "The Lord will not abandon a single person. He wishes for everyone to live well. Divine Faith is not necessarily required, but one must live a good life!"

"Please leave this place, everyone. This is not a good place for filming. Those Demons from Hell will hurt you!"

Hearing this, the reporters felt a tremble in their hearts. With such a voice, such words, and such an expression, why couldn't they muster even a sliver of resentment?

It turned out that her heart was genuinely focused on them...

However, another distinct voice suddenly chimed in. "Your Highness the Saintess, driving them away like this restricts their freedom!"

Hearing this, the crowd could not help but turn around to look at the "man" who had spoken. It was dressed as a man, yet a woman's voice came from its mouth.

Seeing so many people looking over, he immediately became excited. "Every one of us is born free! This freedom should not be restricted by anyone! No one has that right!"

Hearing such words, many understood—this was just another provocateur looking for trouble. At a glance, it was clear this was a gender-diverse individual whose gender could not be easily assumed.

"And so God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them," Caroline said softly. "One must not deny their own gender, nor change their own gender. That is a rejection of The Lord! His Holiness the Pope has also said that this obliterates the distinctions and complementarity of creation, leading to the disappearance of the concept of human nature!"

She looked at the person before her. "Ma'am, you should return to your true gender. This is God's will, not a severance of the self!"

"Please do not betray your own faith. You should become a wonderful lady, a wife, a whole person..."

Debating scripture with a true holy embodiment like her naturally yielded no advantage for the other party. Realizing it could not win the argument, the person drew a Gun!

"Bang!" Flames bloomed. Before the Police could even react, the Bullet flew straight toward Caroline!

"What God? You're still going to die..." It laughed wildly, but its mouth abruptly snapped shut mid-laugh.

Because right before its eyes, the Bullet halted just inches from Caroline's forehead. Then, bathed in holy light, it gradually melted down, ultimately transforming into a thin copper cross.

Caroline faced the woman, plucked the cross from the air, and handed it to her. "You have faith in your heart, you have simply been bewitched. You can still return!"

"Is this the Saintess?" the Sheriff murmured. He thought of the vow from the Hymn:

"For He will command His Angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways."
