From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 262: The Advancing Believers

Chapter 262: The Advancing Believers

Let's rewind the clock to an hour ago. At that time, George, having arrived from Yangon, had just passed through the positions controlled by the government forces and entered the true combat zone.

"Respected Your Excellency the Bishop, I assume you might be heading to Kachin State to preach, but I must still warn you. Those people are utterly ruthless and probably won't treat you any better just because of your status! Are you really going?"

George smiled and nodded. "Please do not worry. Since we dare to go, we naturally have ways to protect ourselves."

"Then you... sigh, I wish you the best of luck!"

With that, he led the group of clergymen out of the vehicle.

The official from the Military Junta stood watching, his eyes filled with a trace of anxiety as their silhouettes slowly faded into the front lines.

Of course, his worries extended beyond just their lives; he was also concerned about his own future. Clergymen sent with official letters from America were likely no ordinary figures. If they died here, he would inevitably face attacks from certain political factions...

'Sigh, I should go back and prepare first! Just in case someone really does attack, I better have my excuses ready!'

The official did not think the group would meet a good end. This was not like a few years ago. Everyone had gone mad from the fighting now, so who would pay any mind to a couple of clergymen?

Even the churches within Kachin State frequently saw trouble these days, let alone outsiders! These battle-crazed soldiers were truly capable of anything. And those utterly inhumane warlords only viewed the people here as numbers in their bank accounts, to be used for payments or personal enjoyment.

Though this place was often called a paradise on earth and a Buddhist holy land, it had long since been twisted into a living hell. Everyone here was a hungry ghost of this hell!

But the official could never have known that if this place truly was Hell, then George, as a Saint, along with the clergymen beside him who had all accepted the Precepts, were Michael's legion of angels!

Their combat power was far, far greater than that of any ordinary army!

The advance of devout persons was incredibly dull, as they almost never chatted.

Or rather, loose-lipped individuals could never enter the Inquisition.

This department was purely focused on penalization. Every action required cold, quiet, and soundless execution. For the vast majority of the time, they simply did not speak!

And in the eyes of Angus, the warlord who detained devout believers was naturally an uncompromised heretic.

Therefore, the best way to deal with heretics was to employ decisive force, backed by the prestige of the Church. Only then could those with malicious intentions be deterred!

After all, the existence of Transcendent powers making nations all over the world restless was never a mild phenomenon, but rather a special revolution hidden within the hearts of humanity!

There was no one who did not wish to come into contact with the Transcendent. Thus, the Church, which already possessed definitive Transcendent power and a complete Transcendent inheritance, became the visible source of such power in the eyes of people from every realm.

Currently, the Church could still suppress these factions relying on its own prestige, but if similar incidents occurred in the future, it might not be able to hold them back!

Therefore, Angus and Mario both knew that this matter had to be handled with decisive force. They would not even need to actively spread the word; the people of those great nations would naturally learn of what transpired here.

Now, all their people needed to do was ensure the guilty were punished and the innocent freed. Nothing more.

Contemplating these matters, George slowly opened his eyes as he arrived before an outpost.

This was the front line of the Kachin Army, and also the vanguard of Dakan's territory. Naturally, the soldiers spotted the presence of these believers, so they raised their guns and stepped forward to shout: "Highly classified military zone! No trespassing!"

George took the initiative to step forward. "The Lord has told me that a faithful believer is in your camp. You have captured the innocent. Please release him!"

"What innocent? In our camp, there are no innocent people, only criminals who require ransom!" Seeing these formally dressed foreigners, a scheme suddenly formed in the military officer's mind. "Why don't you just pay the ransom to buy him out?"

"Then, how much money will it take?" George asked again. He was the only one in the group who could speak the local language, so naturally, the negotiations fell to him.

As a Saint, he automatically gained exceptional learning and combat capabilities. This was a blessing from St. George.

"One million dollars! Of course, that is the collective ransom for all of you!" The military officer grinned, feeling as though a colossal stroke of luck had just fallen right into his lap.

He did not fear any retaliation from foreigners because this was a war zone. Those so-called special agents were highly effective during peacetime, but in a combat area, a simple squad of soldiers was enough to finish them off entirely!

This was a confidence unique to warlords.

Of course, it was also greed at work. The recent battles in Kachin State had gone incredibly smoothly. Having routed the Military Junta time and again, they had already built up an immense amount of confidence. Some soldiers had even pulled out their cell phones, ready to record a video of the group to demand ransom on the international stage!

"The Church has gained a lot of prestige lately, so they must be rolling in money, right? They surely wouldn't mind spending some cash to buy you back!"

"Tie them all up for me! Check if they are carrying any cash. Other valuables will do too!" The military officer's greed, coupled with the soldiers gradually closing in around them, caused George to sigh and shake his head.

"I originally thought that I wouldn't need to draw a weapon before meeting the leader of this army, but now..." As he spoke, he unslung a wooden case from his back.

The case was quite long, measuring over a meter, which made the surrounding people very nervous, terrified that he might pull out a gun and cause unnecessary casualties.

"Right now, there are eleven guns aimed at you, sir. You had best not make us nervous!" the military officer immediately warned. Then, he saw what the man pulled out—it was a two-handed greatsword!

This made all the soldiers burst into laughter. "Hahahahaha! Unfamiliar priest, are you planning to fight us with that weapon?"

Someone mocked openly, and such ridicule prompted even more people to laugh uproariously.

Wanting to fight them with a cold weapon was simply too ridiculous.

However, as George drew his sword, their laughter abruptly died in their throats.

Because the man in the black clerical robe standing before them was actually muttering a phrase as he unsheathed his blade:

"Punish the darkness, protect the light, seek justice, and obliterate evil..."

Then, a brilliant white radiance burst forth from his hands. The greatsword, which had initially looked utterly ordinary, now bloomed with an incomparably dazzling light!

"Are you declaring war on us, in the name of sin?"

"Or are you declaring war on the Church, in the name of heresy?"

George raised his sword, his voice dropping low and his physique expanding with raw power. He stood there, facing the military officer against the howling wind!

"Take this outpost!" George ordered the people behind him. The group nodded in unison. Under the dumbfounded gazes of the soldiers, they drew their own weapons—mostly silver swords or cross-spiked mauls—and simply advanced right up to the many soldiers.

Although they had only accepted the simple Precepts of clergymen, they were still Transcendent Beings. They possessed reaction times and mobility far surpassing ordinary humans, allowing them to completely subdue everyone in the outpost within just a few minutes.

Looking at the clergyman before him, the military officer offered a very strained smile. "I'm sorry, I just wasn't paying attention for a moment. Please forgive me! I am a believer too! I even have a cross given to me by a bishop!"

He spoke hastily, entirely devoid of his previous arrogance.

But everyone knew he didn't truly realize his mistakes; he just felt that he was about to die!

"Your Excellency George, there is something you need to see!" Before long, the clergymen of the Inquisition had sorted out the immediate aftermath and brought their findings to George.

They had cleaned up the outpost, captured everyone, and discovered certain items.

It was a shipping manifest, except the cargo being shipped was not narcotics or industrial products, but people.

Or, to be precise, dismantled people!

The harvested organs were categorized and laid out right here, waiting for a transport vehicle to come and collect them!

"Blasphemy! These people still dare to call themselves the Lord's believers? This is the greatest blasphemy against the Lord!" George was beside himself with fury as he looked at the items!

Because the manifest listed not only the names of the items but even their sources!

"What do they mean by an injured soldier's heart? What is a captive's liver? And what exactly is a thirteen-year-old girl's kidney?"

The Saint gripped the documents, his arms trembling. "Notify Cardinal Angus! Record every single organ harvesting organization listed here! If they operate in America, have the government issue a warrant! If the White House is unwilling, we will handle it ourselves!"

"How... how dare they do such a thing? Everyone involved must be severely punished! This is open blasphemy against the Lord!"

"Then, Your Excellency, what shall we do next..." a clergyman asked.

"Push forward. Continue to advance and round everyone up. I want to see exactly how many people in what is clearly the Lord's realm are such blasphemers!"

George declared loudly, "All blasphemers must pay the price! Notify the Religious Tribunal; there is work to be done!"
