From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 217: History Reenacted, Reality Inverted

Chapter 217: History Reenacted, Reality Inverted

In the records of Judaism, the Kabbalah Tree of Life was perhaps one of the few concepts among the three major Abrahamic religions that contained detailed rules for cultivation. However, the Roman Catholic Church had no such teachings.

The very concept of cultivation was a profound luxury in any era.

But Rasinger had no opportunity to dwell on this. As his body merged with the Tree of Life, time paused once more, and the figures of Bai Yang and Alvin slowly materialized within this Divine Kingdom.

Their arrival did not disrupt the world's progression. The people and events continued to move forward along predetermined paths.

No one paid them any attention, nor could anyone even see them. They seemed entirely detached from the world, utterly out of place in this environment.

"Crown, this world still feels somewhat illusory. It lacks true substance," Alvin observed.

Bai Yang nodded. "Indeed. The greatest flaw of this world is its lack of authenticity. It is inherently fake. Even if the souls are real, the world is real, and the Matter is real, when combined, the result remains a fabrication!"

"This is the root of Rasinger's unease. The fundamental dissonance of this world caused his body to instinctively resist it!"

Alvin understood. "Is that why you sent him away first?"

"It was for a few reasons; it cannot be attributed to just one," Bai Yang explained. "The imperfection of this world fundamentally stems from a structural deficiency. However, as the divine fire continues to burn and Divine Faith steadily amplifies, this gap will naturally mend itself. If Rasinger had stayed inside, he would have been assimilated.""Once assimilated, even the false becomes true!"

His fingers rapped rhythmically against the adjacent Tree of Life—tap-tap-tap—as he spoke. "However, if he frequently enters and exits these special 'Realms', traversing through the worlds, this deficiency will no longer be an issue!"

"Anomalies will no longer be seen as anomalies, but rather as the 'novelty of the world'!" Bai Yang lowered his hand. At some point, a peculiar cube had appeared in his grasp.

Beside him, The Core had also manifested, handing him a tiny chip. "Master, the Soul data you requested is all in here! Ignorant souls make up the vast majority. They possess both Spirituality and Divine Nature, but both are severely lacking!"

Bai Yang took the chip and nodded in satisfaction. "Mhm, as long as they are genuine souls, that is enough. Fabricated souls cannot generate Wish Power, but as long as a soul is real, it can easily be acknowledged by the world!"

These native souls produced by the world itself were what Bai Yang valued most. They were entities capable of resonating with the World Will, serving as the crucial foundation he needed for his next steps.

He inserted the chip into the cube in his hand. At that very moment, a colossal surge of God Power was poured into the cube's interior. The massive amount of Wish Power gathered during the funeral Ritual held in Rome had been entirely converted into God Power by Bai Yang, who then channeled it all into this small block.

A virtual world began to take shape within the cube. It was a realm Bai Yang constructed based on history and certain pieces of information stored in his own mind.

The essence of this power originated from his initial ability to craft a Dreamscape. Upgrading from weaving a Dreamscape to constructing an entire virtual world could well be considered a form of Ascension.

"What kind of world should I forge?" Bai Yang narrowed his eyes slightly. If he had the capability, he would naturally want to create overwhelmingly powerful worlds, such as realms where Gods waged chaotic wars or where Saints roamed supreme. Such places would undoubtedly be fascinating.

However, doing so did not align with his Interests. Funneling massive amounts of God Power into a meaningless virtual world just to satisfy his personal amusement would be far too wasteful.

Bai Yang preferred that this virtual world also serve as a provider of Wish Power. Although it was not a true reality, the souls dwelling within it were, at the very least, entirely real.

His eyes lit up as a detailed blueprint quickly formed in his mind. A world slowly began to materialize within the cube, and the souls inserted by The Core naturally became an integral part of its foundation.

Finally, the cube gradually transformed into the shape of an apple, which Bai Yang then hung upon the Kabbalah Tree of Life.

Drawn by the apple's allure, the newly ascended Saint, Rasinger, entered it, taking on the role of a so-called "missionary."

"Now, all that remains is to test whether their Divine Faith can generate Wish Power!"

Bai Yang said with a beaming smile. If this experiment succeeded, then the staggering number of souls held by The Core would finally have a destination. Moreover, the diverse system of All Worlds he was shaping would gain a true, tangible foundation!

The sensation of weaving a massive lie and then slowly turning it into reality piece by piece was truly intoxicating. Bai Yang tangibly believed that he was walking on an absolutely correct path. Everything in this world would eventually become the genuine nourishment he needed to forge his future!

As for this tree, it would one day be laden with apples, serving as the source of worlds beneath Heaven!

This was the true path a Creator God needed to walk.

...

"I never expected to arrive in such a specious world..." Rasinger murmured as he landed. He looked down at his entirely new appearance, feeling a mix of astonishment and bewilderment.

He had descended into a realm almost identical to his own world. The various specious sights left him feeling somewhat disoriented.

He had become a Bishop in this world. The deity he worshiped was still The Lord, and he possessed the official authority of The Church. Perhaps the only major difference was the timeline—he was in the Middle Ages!

To be more precise, it was the Middle Ages ruled by The Church, but entirely devoid of Gods. Furthermore, it was the specific era when the Black Death had just begun to emerge and spread its terrifying scourge!

Both the rumors circulating outside and the records in his hands confirmed this reality.

Rasinger now knew that the Gods of the real-world Church genuinely existed. Therefore, under their scrutiny, the various historical events of his original timeline had long since been altered beyond recognition.

They knew of Pope Clement VI's desperate final strike, they knew of Urban V's earth-shattering schemes, and they roughly understood exactly how much their Church had done during those turbulent eras.

The history within his mind had become the tale of The Church's rise to power. All the various histories involving Transcendence had completely overwritten the standard historical knowledge he once held.

But now, he was witnessing an entirely different possibility. This was a world completely devoid of The Lord's power, a world that had never experienced an Angelic Descent. It was a purely ordinary Realm!

He was deeply Curious—what would an era look like where even The Church lacked Transcendent Power?

'So this world might represent an alternative evolutionary path for our own reality?' Rasinger guessed with a sense of inexplicable wonder, though a sudden chill of dread soon followed.

'Or perhaps, there are countless worlds similar to ours, and only a very select few individuals can ever manage to transcend their boundaries?'

This perspective seemed to align much better with his theories. Beneath the Heavenly Kingdom lay countless worlds. He was one of the resolute faithful from a minority of these worlds, which was precisely why he had achieved his current status.

Rasinger's conviction gradually solidified. The Divine Faith in his heart grew even firmer, and he developed a far more unique perspective regarding his arrival in this new world.

"Since the Lord's Radiance has never illuminated this world, then let me be the one to scatter that divine light. I shall spread the Divine Faith of The Lord to the very ends of this world!"

He muttered to himself. His previously hollow heart was instantly filled with a surging wave of hope and Expectation. At that moment, he felt as though he had gained an entirely new understanding of the concept of cultivation that he had previously failed to grasp!

Grabbing his Staff, a copy of The Bible, and his vestments, Rasinger set out toward his newfound goal.

If this truly was a Europe devoid of Transcendent threats and plagued only by the Black Death, then his knowledge and Divine Faith would serve as the ultimate weapons to save this world!

He pulled the Church doors shut behind him. In this era where plague and the Black Death ran rampant, where Darkness and deathly silence danced in macabre unison, he embarked on a path of salvation!

Behind him, Bai Yang's figure slowly materialized. Accompanied by The Core and Alvin, he surveyed this virtual world.

Alvin, having directly read the data of this world, felt his lips twitch slightly. "Crown, reshaping the real world into a history of Transcendence, and then perfectly replicating the original, mundane history within a virtual world... isn't this taking 'inverting reality' a bit too far?"

"Hahahaha!" Bai Yang laughed heartily. "Since I didn't know what kind of world to create, I figured I might as well just replay the world's actual history!"

This was indeed entirely intentional. He thoroughly understood this period of history. In fact, the very alterations to this historical timeline were the result of Bai Yang using history as a focal point and feeding it into his divine fire. Naturally, he was exceptionally familiar with it.

The Black Death, relentless War, and the grim dark ages preceding The Renaissance—using this particular era of history as a "world" or a "dungeon instance" was absolutely perfect. Furthermore, those souls could flawlessly transition into this unique veil of Darkness without the slightest hitch.

"Only scenarios with sufficient impact can generate adequate Divine Faith, right?" Bai Yang continued. "The Middle Ages are merely an appetizer. In the future, there might be Apocalypse worlds or dark epochs. I imagine that the salvation delivered in such desperate worlds will yield far greater Divine Faith!"

Now that he had experience in world-building, he was clearly Letting Loose and acting with much less restraint. These were all experimental endeavors, so they naturally required highly impactful contrasts. Besides, it was just a virtual world—the cost was minimal, and it allowed for endless trial and error!
