From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 209: What it Means to be the World's Number One Religion!

Chapter 209: What it Means to be the World's Number One Religion!

The judgment of this race continued. Every individual facing trial would receive Anlamile's Words of Condemnation and a final verdict on their sins.

Meanwhile, the people watching from the shadows—especially the other vampire clans—patted their chests in immense relief. Thank goodness. Thank goodness they had held back and not actually exposed themselves.

Otherwise, the current fate of the Tzimisce Clan would likely be their future.

"Too... too brutal!" a young vampire, barely three hundred years old, stammered in terror as he looked at the elders beside him. "Were the angels you encountered back then this brutal too?"

"No!" an older vampire replied. Just as the youth thought he was about to recount his own story, the elder abruptly changed the subject. "Back then, we were being chased all over the world by the Knights Templar. How could we possibly warrant an angel descending to the mortal realm?"

"Exactly, how could we have ever been qualified to face such an existence back then?"

"Honestly, we still aren't qualified now, unless a clan leader or Lady Lilith herself descends... ah, our clan leader should be able to beat them, right?"

"Hard to say!"

This group discussed the matter relatively lightly. After all, the Tzimisce Clan brought this disaster upon themselves; what did that have to do with them, the mere Bystanders?

They were more than happy to see this clan of lunatics suffer! The ones who were truly terrified were the members of the Toreador Clan. They were the natives of this city and had also harmed members of The Church. Could they also be on the list for a Reckoning?

This feeling of waiting for punishment to descend was truly unbearable!

"But it's fine. With the current rules of the Celestial Expanse and the world, these angels ultimately cannot exist in this realm for much longer! They will eventually have to return to Heaven!"

"Once they return to Heaven, we can make our move. These guys from The Church are such a pain!"

Someone sighed emotionally, but was then met with the inexplicable stares of the crowd, making him slightly taken aback. "What's wrong? Am I incorrect?"

"Of course you're right, but... now, after this incident, who would truly dare to strike at The Church?"

This question struck a chord with them, and everyone shook their heads in dismay. "Perhaps ordinary conflicts will still be fine, but if anyone wants to act arrogantly and humiliate The Church like the Tzimisce Clan did, they will definitely have to reconsider today's events!"

The Church had its pride too. If you sent a few minor figures over, and they sent a few Priests out, fighting to the bitter end where life and death were left to fate, they could let it slide.

But to take advantage of the fact that their power hadn't fully recovered, relying on your own slightly greater recovered strength to run right up to their doorstep just to end up Being Exposed, wasn't that going too far?

The main point was, if you actually had the power, that would be one thing. It could be seen as seizing the opportunity to go all out, to strive for a magnificent future and to strive for immense glory. But looking at it now, not only did they fail to achieve that, they even dragged themselves down into the abyss.

Then you couldn't blame everyone for mocking you!

"The clan leader should already know what happened here. If worse comes to worst, we can just move out of Milan for now..." The members of the Toreador Clan discussed the feasibility of this idea among themselves.

"Hey, I saw some of them channeling Lady Lilith's magic circle. Why didn't she descend?" a young vampire suddenly asked.

Then, everyone looked at him like he was a Fool. Finally, this young vampire's Sire spoke up. "Do you think that if Lady Lilith descended and killed these two angels and the cardinal, the battle would just end there?"

"Yeah, exactly!" the young vampire hurriedly replied. "Lady Lilith possesses immense power, definitely surpassing that Vlad the Great. Even these two angels wouldn't be a match for her, right?"

"Right, these two angels probably aren't her match. And then what?" the older vampire stared at his fledgling and asked. "Did you hear the angels' words of descent just now?"

"They were dispatched to the mortal realm by Raziel. That means this place is currently being watched by an archangel. Do you think Lady Lilith could actually come? If she did come, would that Archangel Raziel just sit by and not intervene?"

"Even if Raziel didn't intervene, all he has to do is put the word out. Michael, Gabriel, Metatron... what happens if any of those angels descend?"

This interrogation left the young vampire speechless and forced him to recognize a stark truth: compared to The Church, the Vampire Race was inherently a weaker existence!

Naturally, this was unacceptable to him. After all, throughout his Worldview formed over the past few centuries, countless people had told him that vampires were incredibly powerful, an ancient race that had survived from a very early era all the way to the present!

Yet in the end, upon encountering angels, all they could do was watch? Even their gods and creators didn't dare to descend directly to face them?

The young man's Worldview was completely shattered.

But it didn't matter. Something that would make him recognize reality even more clearly had already arrived!

After realizing that even Lady Lilith had abandoned them, this crazed clan was forced to admit the absolute truth—they were doomed!

The Divine Thunder suddenly accelerated. At the moment this group gave up on themselves, the lightning of the Thunder Sword began to call roll, striking them down one by one!

The angels seemed to have noticed the group's surrender as well, which meant their goal had been achieved. Thus, the destruction became even swifter.

It was only when all the Tzimisce Clan members on the field had been obliterated that Eve, who had spoken at the very beginning, stepped forward once more. "Seventy-one members of the Tzimisce Clan remain. They are ruled as accomplices!" "All who bear Sin shall be cleansed; all who succumb to base desires shall fall to Hell; all who lack Divine Faith shall have their bodies scorched and their souls ignited by the Flame of Retribution!"

"All who commit Blasphemy shall perish in raging fire; all who commit Humiliation shall perish by Divine Thunder; all who intertwine with Darkness shall be dissolved beneath the holy light!"

"The guilty have nowhere to run; corporeal souls will inevitably burn and meet their end in the Celestial and Terrestrial Flames!"

"In the name of the Punishing Angel, I beseech Archangel Michael to send down unprovoked Divine Thunder to destroy their clan, sever their lineage, and extinguish their faith, putting an end to their evils!"

These words were broadcast to the world just as before. Everyone in the entire city heard this proclamation. The tone of Punishment and judgment was incredibly flat, yet it left everyone quaking in Fear!

Boom! Like heavenly thunder crashing down, eleven Lightning Pillars struck throughout the city, seemingly awakening the inherent goodness within everyone's hearts.

Even at the most heavily fortified location, they could not glean any advantage against these Lightning Pillars. A massive bat with its wings spread wide was currently disintegrating in the lightning. "Archangel Michael, the Tzimisce Clan... is willing to offer everything to beg for atonement!"

"Since the Ruling has been cast, your lives are forfeit!" A voice flashed through everyone's minds.

That grand Radiance was clearly the judging power of the Viceroy of Heaven, Archangel Michael!

This ruthless figure, who could brutally suppress an Infernal Overlord and slay the gods of various nations in a single battle, had no intention of listening to the enemy beg for mercy!

The Lightning Pillars expanded further, completely enveloping the massive bat within. Regardless of whether he was the strongest combatant or the clan leader, he was reduced to ashes amid the Divine Thunder, completely shattering the hopes of those Bystanders!

Meanwhile in Rome, the information received by the Italian Prime Minister, Lomeini, was a bit more comprehensive.

"Madam, across seven cities in Italy, a total of seventy-one Lightning Pillars have appeared!" Her secretary's words rang in her ears, causing a slight shift in the Prime Minister's stance.

"They truly meant Clan Annihilation. Even the clan members far away in Sicily couldn't escape the fate of death!"

Lomeini recalled the angel's words from just moments ago. Seventy-one people—not one more, not one less. This was what a true Nuclear Weapon was!

She was shocked to realize that all the actions she had taken to sever ties with The Church now seemed so utterly ridiculous, so pointless, and so incredibly petty!

No wonder Pope Mario remained noncommittal about all her actions. It turned out that in his eyes, none of it mattered in the slightest!

"We must carefully consider the proposal of His Crown, the Pope. Perhaps accepting The Church with this level of power isn't out of the question after all?"

Lomeini's thoughts had already shifted. After all, The Church wasn't just slightly powerful—it was boundlessly strong!

She cast her gaze back toward the city of Milan. The two angels still hadn't finished their work. Eve withdrew, and the Condemning Angel named Anlamile stepped forward once again.

"The Lord said: All who bear Sin shall meet their end! Everyone, you've watched for quite a while now. It's time to pay the Price!"

The moment these words were spoken, the hearts of all the spectators skipped a beat. Looking at his sweeping white pupils, they felt nothing but utter bewilderment and Fear!

The angel spread his wings, hovering in the air as he swept his gaze around the area, finally raising the Thunder Sword in his hand!

"The disrespectful shall suffer torment! The irreverent shall face Punishment! The wicked shall burn in raging flames!"

"A Minor Punishment as a Major Warning; let us observe your future conduct!"

Boom! Another strike of Divine Thunder rained down, but it was no longer the Lightning Pillars from before. Instead, bolts of Lightning struck from the sky, creating A Scene of Chaos and Panic among the surrounding observers!

The power of this Lightning wasn't very strong and lacked the ability to kill, but it was enough to leave these observers wincing in pain for quite some time.

As for the vampires? Naturally, they were injured. As Dark Creatures, the agony they suffered from the Divine Thunder was far heavier than that of anyone else!

Everyone could sense it; this was the sheer aura and power of the world's number one religion, the Catholic Church!

This wasn't directed at any one person, but a stern warning issued to everyone present!

Even thinking about it was forbidden; harboring thoughts alone was a Sin!

Even merely being present was unacceptable; being here was a form of Blasphemy!

Even looking was forbidden; casting your gaze over was a sign of disrespect toward The Lord!

You were at the scene? You were at the scene and didn't help, choosing instead to watch indifferently?

Not to mention, these spectators were all Dark Creatures. Wiping them out would have been a trivial effort. Sparing their lives was already an act of the utmost mercy!
