From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 165: A Corner of the Wars of the Worlds

Chapter 165: A Corner of the Wars of the Worlds

This was naturally Bai Yang's handiwork. Since he needed to establish a connection with Lova and use his divine spark for Reversing Cause and Effect, binding the survival of the Aesir to him, such measures were absolutely essential.

Concepts like Reversing Cause and Effect and Causal Inversion were easy enough to talk about, but putting them into practice was far from simple.

Essence, Pantheons, Wish Force, and history—each element presented an endless slew of troubles waiting for him.

Bai Yang had set his initial status far too high. Consequently, maintaining that lofty facade required exorbitant expenditures every single time!

But since he had chosen this path, he had to see it through to the end, even if he had to drag himself forward kicking and screaming, didn't he?

Moreover, Bai Yang did not feel a shred of regret. This Universe was incredibly vast, and this world possessed infinitely expansive resources. Such a grand status was precisely meant to consume the resources of the Universe!

It was entirely possible to pile up these resources to forge boundless Divine Power. If he failed to seize this golden opportunity, he would have lived his life in vain!

Take the current situation, for example. The divine spark before him had indeed been ignited by Lova, but the sheer size of the blazing flame was undoubtedly Bai Yang's masterpiece!

When Lova poured in his Wish Force, Bai Yang had directly crammed in over four hundred points of Divine Power, pushing the total Divine Power within this divine spark to a staggering height of five hundred points!

However, aside from the five points that truly belonged to Lova, the remaining Divine Power was not actually burning within it. Otherwise, Lova would have already been reduced to ashes.Relying on the Power of Lies, Bai Yang had directly and synchronously replicated a divine spark, then linked it to Lova's divine spark to execute what he called Divine Light Synchronization.

As Lova's flame grew, this replica divine spark would grow in tandem, steadily expanding until it became massive.

The fuel for Lova's divine spark consisted of the Aesir, Yggdrasil, and the Vikings of this world. In contrast, the fuel for Bai Yang's divine spark encompassed everyone beneath this grand curtain, the world behind the scenes, and the inevitable clashes between the Pantheons!

He had truly grown accustomed to thinking like a God, which was why his overarching plans focused on the grand scale of the world. Naturally, Lova's flame and the flame of the Aesir were not the same entity. However, this binding allowed Lova to witness a complete and authentic Pantheon the exact moment he Ascended to Godhood!

What if the Pantheon was not ready yet? The answer was simple: if the Pantheon was not ready, it would be impossible for Lova to Ascend to Godhood!

Bai Yang's standards were extremely flexible. Furthermore, to keep Lova from wandering around, he had brainstormed quite a few countermeasures. For instance, the excuse that "during the initial ignition of the divine spark, the flame must blend with history, requiring the user to remain completely stationary" worked exceptionally well.

If Transcendent Beings at the Saint Level truly emerged on Earth in the future, it wouldn't be a bad idea to let Lova out to harvest another bountiful crop of Wish Force. These were all excellent strategies!

"Crown, the illusory world has been constructed. Do you wish to enter?" Alvin's voice suddenly echoed, interrupting Bai Yang's train of thought.

"Of course. Let us go in and witness Lova's journey to Ascend to Godhood!" Bai Yang declared with a cheerful chuckle. "Building the Pantheon for him previously cost so much Divine Power. Finally, I can just use an illusion for this Past Vision!"

...

"A new Deity? How interesting..."

This was the very first sentence Lova heard upon opening his eyes.

Startled, he looked up to find a towering giant standing right in front of him, silently observing him.

However, the surreal, ethereal scenery around him clearly indicated that this was not the real world, but rather an illusory realm. He furrowed his brows. "Who are you? What is your purpose in bringing me here?"

Hearing his question, the giant seemed to understand. A massive grin spread across his colossal mouth. "Ah, so you are the newly arrived God. A child of Asgard or Vanaheim would never ask such a thing!"

This statement caught Lova entirely off guard. "What do you mean?"

"It means that this place is inherently illusory, and so am I. However, you might find my name somewhat familiar!" the giant boomed. "I am Mimir, the Guardian Giant!"

"Mimir?" Lova gasped in sheer shock upon hearing the name. "The guardian of the Spring of Wisdom, the Giant of Wisdom?" "In truth, I hold another identity. I am the Guardian of History and the Watcher of Time!" Mimir declared. "Bestla asked me to help protect her child, and I fulfilled that oath. Therefore, during Ragnarok, I did not choose to slumber. Instead, I chose to remain!"

"I remained behind within the trajectory of history to guide the Gods of the future, showing them that tragic and agonizing War! I must let them witness the true courage and strength of the Aesir!"

Hearing this, Lova regained his composure. "This is something every Aesir God must experience, correct?"

"Indeed. Every Aesir God must go through this trial. Only by doing so can they rein in the fury within their hearts and learn to solve problems through thought and dialogue, rather than resorting to violence and War to destroy everything!" Mimir explained.

"Young Deity, are you ready to face the advent of Ragnarok?"

"Of course, Lord Mimir!" Lova replied confidently. "I have made all the necessary preparations. Ragnarok will undoubtedly serve as an excellent warning!"

Hearing his resolute answer, Mimir offered a slight nod and waved his massive hand.

The surrounding environment vanished instantly, and the giant faded away with it, leaving behind only Lova's solitary figure.

To his astonishment, he realized that he was neither in the mortal world nor in a Divine Kingdom. Instead, he floated within a Boundless Void devoid of anything...

Soon, peculiar flashes of light pierced through the void. These glowing specks rapidly expanded, morphing into massive War Chariots, colossal Warships, and magnificent Sky Horses!

This was the grand army of the Aesir! These were the Deities hailing from the Pantheon!

The exalted Gods, who were rarely seen in ordinary times, had all gathered here, streaking past Lova's eyes like a sweeping tide of clouds.

One particular Deity stood at the absolute forefront of the divine host. A familiar fluctuation of energy allowed Lova to recognize him immediately. Wasn't that the cynical and frivolous entity possessing Powerful Divine Power whom he had seen in the Pantheon?

Back then, the man had been conversing with Odin in a remarkably calm manner. Yet here, Lova could see none of his previous cynicism. All he saw was the dazzling Golden Armor, the brandished staff, and the roaring flames erupting from his body toward the heavens...

Just gazing upon that unfathomable power was enough to strike sheer terror into Lova's heart!

He watched as the Deities of Asgard soared across the Boundless Void, charging toward the distant horizon. In the far distance lay a terrifying storm radiating horrifying fluctuations!

The tempest exuded an indescribable aura of dread. Lova knew deep down that if he were caught in it, a single shockwave would likely obliterate him on the spot, leaving zero chance of survival!

But before he even had a moment to catch his breath from the shock, a brand-new wave of awe washed over him:

Streaks of white silhouettes formed an unimaginably colossal army, sweeping past him and leaving Lova utterly astounded. Weren't these the so-called "Angels" of the Roman Church from the real world?

The leader spearheading this angelic host was a Twelve-Winged Archangel, possessing strength that was in no way inferior to Powerful Divine Power. The Archangel even cast a subtle, fleeting glance toward Lova's direction...

The spectacle was far from over. He also witnessed a majestic, towering divine mountain, a fleet of divine ships surging through torrential floods, an array of formidable Deities clad in beast hides, and even a congregation of monks radiating brilliant golden light!

They were all incomparably powerful. They were all blindingly radiant. And they were all marching resolutely toward that apocalyptic battlefield!

"Is this... the Wars of the Worlds?" Lova muttered, absolutely dumbfounded. He had originally assumed that Ragnarok would be exactly as the myths described—an internal War among the Gods!

Such conflicts were quite common on the Dylan Continent, and everyone was entirely used to them.

Yet, he never could have imagined that this Ragnarok did not take place within the confines of a single world, but rather entirely outside of it!

Furthermore, it wasn't just their Pantheon involved. The various major Pantheons, without any prior communication, were all advancing toward the exact same destination.

This forced him to recall the "Wars of the Worlds" mentioned earlier by the Valkyrie. So this was the true nature of that War. No wonder it was called Ragnarok!

Suddenly, Lova felt as though everything made perfect sense!

At that moment, Mimir's silhouette materialized beside him once again. The gargantuan giant let out a heavy sigh. "Do you see it now?"

"What exactly lies in those depths?" Lova asked. He could only see the vanguard of the War, entirely unable to glimpse the true battlefield!

"If you can step into the Pantheon and secure a seat, then you will discover what lies there!" Mimir answered solemnly. "This is the Wars of the Worlds, a War between the Gods and foreign deities. It is the catalyst that led to the fall of the Gods and the advent of Ragnarok... Fortunately, a time of revival has finally come..."

"Generation after generation of Gods will set foot upon this battlefield. This is the ultimate destiny of the Aesir. Are you ready?"

Faced with Mimir's heavy question, Lova's expression turned incredibly solemn. Yes, 'was he ready?'

A genuine Pantheon naturally bore the heavy responsibilities of a genuine Pantheon. It was impossible to solely reap the benefits without making any sacrifices, wasn't it?

Everything unfolding before his eyes was the ultimate Price!
