From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 16: Traces of a Lie

Chapter 16: Traces of a Lie

"Your Grace, our Wish Force now has two sources!"

Walking along the streets of San Diego, Bai Yang felt a rare moment of mental relaxation.

Hearing Alvin's words, he chuckled and said, "One comes from Vespuchi Town, and the other is from the San Diego police station, right?"

"Yes, Your Grace!" Alvin replied. "They provided over 1,000 points of fixed Wish Force just yesterday alone."

Fixed Wish Force and instantaneous Wish Force were categories Bai Yang had specifically created to classify different types of Wish Force.

These two types of Wish Force consisted of one that emerged when people's worldviews were shattered after he caused incidents, and another that was generated daily when they stopped being shocked and chose to accept reality instead of doubting it.

What he needed most right now was, of course, instantaneous Wish Force.

After all, this was a purely physical world. Before the God of Lies' Divine Spark shattered the universe's dimensional barriers, there should have been no so-called "mysteries" in this world.

But now things were different. Bai Yang had the foundation of "mystery," and thus possessed the power to shape such mysteries.

Therefore, the "instantaneous Wish Force" obtained from breaking each intelligent being's worldview was incredibly substantial. This type of Wish Force could be obtained every time they were deceived!

Only when these people genuinely believed these phenomena were "real" would such instantaneous Wish Force no longer be obtainable.

However, by that time, what they could provide would transform into "fixed Wish Force" that could be supplied daily.

In a sense, the process of deities educating their followers was also about turning them from instantaneous Wish Force providers into fixed Wish Force providers.

When Alvin mentioned fixed Wish Force, Bai Yang could immediately guess where this Wish Force came from.

"So how much Wish Force did we obtain yesterday after we left and the police intervened?" Bai Yang asked curiously.

"Not much, only about 5,000 points," Alvin answered. "They sealed the information channels very quickly, even recapturing those who escaped. Only a very small number successfully fled by crossing the border!"

Bai Yang shook the water bottle in his hand and continued, "They can seal information, but they can't seal people. Ivan is still out there, and his story has only just begun!"

Bai Yang wasn't worried at all that the authorities sealing these information channels would expose his lies.

This situation was completely different from Vespuchi Town - he had truly invested heavily this time, using Divine Power to enhance Ivan's combat abilities!

As long as Ivan wasn't captured outright by the authorities in one go, he would definitely help Bai Yang continuously obtain Wish Force in the future.

He had much more design and future plans for this young man who emerged from the ancient tribe and Native American reservation.

The Mayan deities behind Ivan, just like the heaven and hell behind Angus, would all become part of Bai Yang's future plans.

"Your Grace, are you planning to create two pantheons?" Alvin asked in surprise. "That's impossible! The God of Lies' power cannot reach that level!"

"I never said I would use the God of Lies' power to achieve it!" Bai Yang smiled and waved his hand. "The power of lies is only meant to make them believe these things exist!"

He was the weaver of this plan, and every person he focused on was a key node in this vast network.

This was also the advantage of being the God of Lies - whether it was hints or power he provided, everything was essentially part of the "lies."

If anything truly escaped his control, he could make that thing become a genuine lie!

Therefore, without intervention from external deities, he was this world's only supernatural being.

Thinking about these things, Bai Yang slowly stopped walking and looked up at a building before him. "Is this the place?"

"Yes, Your Grace. The shattered fragments of the Divine Spark of Lies are scattered here!" Alvin's voice gradually came through.

"That's really... quite coincidental!" Bai Yang gazed at the building.

He had originally thought that since his landing spot was in the slums, even if the fragments of lies weren't in the slums, they should at least be nearby.

But he never expected that his landing point and the Divine Spark fragments' landing point were completely different locations.

These fragments had actually landed in a San Diego church!

"I have such fate with churches!" Bai Yang said as he walked forward.

Of course, after obtaining the power called "lies," no matter what he was doing, he was always surrounded by Wish Force.

Therefore, even as he walked here, he wouldn't be seen by anyone or anything.

Because he deceived everything around him - they would believe there was nothing here, even though he had never actually turned invisible.

It was the same with his speech - he never made any effort to conceal it.

His words also contained the power called "lies," ensuring his speech wouldn't reach anyone's ears.

This was true "sole practitioner of magic"!

He strode into the church, completely ignoring the tourists around him, the nearby clergy, and the surrounding guards.

In Bai Yang's eyes, there was only one glowing "crystal."

He strolled into the church interior, passed through the crowded chapel, walked past the worship area called "Heaven," directly crossed through this largest building, and arrived before a small building at the back.

Beside the small building, volunteers drying clothes could still be seen, while some clergy in black robes hurried past him.

This should be the building where the clergy resided.

Bai Yang looked up and could see that on the top floor of this building, a fingernail-sized crystal was emitting a light that only he could see.

"Your Grace, I can sense that there is Wish Force within this fragment of lies!" Alvin suddenly said.

Bai Yang looked at the crystal with great interest, walking up step by step, then said, "I can sense it too - that's Wish Force belonging to this church! Someone is praying to it!"

"That shouldn't be... To ordinary people, Divine Spark fragments should appear like pieces of glass. Why would someone actively pray to it?" Alvin was utterly perplexed, unable to understand why such a thing would happen!

Bai Yang pushed open the door before him and saw the woman kneeling on the floor inside, also spotting the transparent crystal she had placed on the table.

"Since we're already here, we'll know once we see for ourselves, right?" Bai Yang stood beside the woman and calmly picked up the crystal.

The fragment of the Divine Spark of Lies naturally responded to Bai Yang's presence, seeming eager to return to him, to return to its original position.

Alvin thought the same way. "Your Grace, now we can repair the Divine Spark a bit more!"

"No, Alvin!" Bai Yang shook his head. "That's meaningless. Would this little extra make me possess greater power? Would it make our plans proceed more smoothly?"

Alvin shook his head. "Of course not, Your Grace. If not for fearing our traces being discovered by other deities, we wouldn't even have a reason to come find it!"

Bai Yang smiled. "Exactly. Whether it's Divine Fire or Divine Power, both can repair the Divine Spark, so the significance of this fragment isn't in its return!"

"Then what do you intend to do?"

"I want to make it become a new Divine Spark! Even if for a long time, it can only be a counterfeit!"

"But when I ascend to godhood, it will be reborn with me!"

As Bai Yang spoke, he pressed the crystal against his forehead.

"Your Grace, you are walking the path to godhood!" Alvin bowed in admiration.
