Chapter 155: Performing Miracles in Public is the Best Way to Gather Wish Force
Chapter 155: Performing Miracles in Public is the Best Way to Gather Wish Force
Even though a month had already passed, the news of the revival of the Gods seemed to have nothing to do with the people of this country.
The stories originating far away in North America naturally had a hard time reaching Europe, let alone Sweden, a country with such a slow pace of life that the entire nation seemed to have hit the pause button.
This country was incredibly fractured. While various crises followed like shadows, the citizens appeared exceedingly sluggish and inefficient.
After all, it was a high-welfare society. Aside from the gloom brought by the bitter cold, most people here possessed rather withdrawn personalities, which led to a scarcity of public activities.
Therefore, such a public Sacrifice held by Āsathrú was truly one of the very few events in the entire Malmö community recently that could attract significant attention, making it a gathering that the locals eagerly discussed.
After all, apart from Criminal Activities, there was simply too little else happening in this city.
Furthermore, the rampant immigrant crime had led to a massive decrease in tourists. The residents, who finished work at three in the afternoon, had no real entertainment.
They either went home to make babies, stayed indoors to play video games, or were left with the exceedingly rare option of engaging in shootouts with the local Gang.
So, when Freya and Percival led a group of sect members and the young girls who had recently joined—not all survivors had homes or could return to them—to Ribersborg Beach, quite a few locals tagged along to watch the spectacle.
Bordering this famous beach was lush green vegetation and a dense, thriving forest. Beyond that, it was a place where various animals and humans coexisted in harmony.Ribersborg Beach.
As a renowned scenic spot, one could gaze at the long Øresund Bridge from afar, feel the warm sea breeze, bask in the mild Northern European sunlight, and enjoy the classic, beautiful scenery.
"What a beautiful city, isn't it?" Luowa remarked, standing by the sea and looking at the indigo waters.
"Yes, in this beautiful city, back in 2006, a quarter of the born population were already non-locals!" Freya voiced her thoughts. "The Faithful belonging to the Gods are also growing fewer and fewer!"
"It does not matter, none of that is a major issue!" Luowa said with a smile. "After today, all the descendants of the Vikings in this city will become The Faithful of the Gods!"
"They will offer up their Divine Faith, they will return to their ancestral beliefs, because I will tell them that the Gods have returned!"
He spread his arms wide, facing the ocean, as if everything was in the palm of his hand!
Luowa had not been idle during this period. At the very least, he had learned about the history from a millennium ago, and from the mouths of certain deities around him, he had discovered even more about the past.
'I have been making up history every single day recently, damn it,' Bai Yang thought in exasperation.
He knew that in this country, the dominant Divine Faith was still "Lutheran Christianity," and most of the citizens were followers of this denomination.
He even knew clearly that behind this religion named after "Christ," a true God existed. During his chats with certain deities, he had heard this name.
He even speculated that this entity had participated in the "War of All Worlds" involving the Aesir Divine Pantheon.
That might be a Divine Pantheon as great and terrifying as the Aesir themselves!
But Luowa was not the least bit worried about clashing with them. In this country, he had not seen any true "Beacons of Faith," so he clearly understood that those so-called occupants of faith possessed no real Divine Faith at all!
Their prayers did not reach the kingdom of the Gods, their words did not connect with any deity, and they possessed absolutely no power—only empty authority to speak.
Therefore, the rival Divine Pantheon could not possibly cast their gaze here. He could act with absolute impunity!
Based on this contrast, Luowa grew increasingly confident about this Sacrifice. He did not even bother to drive away the obvious "spies" and "agents."
Because he knew that behind these people who seemed to be investigating, there were no so-called "Gods." Did that not mean they would also become potential targets to be converted into his own believers?
"This is truly fascinating. The Faithful of this city will be my first step on the path of the Gods, and they will become the foundation for my Ascend to Godhood!"
Luowa muttered softly, then turned to Freya. "You may begin, Witch Freya!"
"Understood!" Freya gave a slight nod, ending their conversation. She slowly turned to face the crowd before her—among them were believers, passing tourists, and naturally, local Government security personnel, a group of police officers.
Their arrival made the entire beach seem incredibly lively, ensuring that the Ritual they were about to perform would be witnessed by even more people! At the thought of this, even with Freya's tempered mental fortitude, she could not help but feel extremely thrilled. Waving the Hermes' Wand in her hand, she gazed at The Faithful before her and spoke softly:
"When the northern auroras bloom with their most dazzling light, that is the moment the Gods shall return from history once more!"
"Please allow me to call out His name, to call upon His Divine Seat, to invoke His Divine Miracle!"
"He is the War God, Grímnir, the Raider, the Third Great God!
He is the One-Eyed God, the Supreme Chief God, the Seeker of Truth!
He is the All-Father, the God of the Scepter, the Cloaked Deity!"
"He is the God King, He is the Lord of the Ten-thousand Worlds, He is our Heaven, our Father, our Lord!"
Endless brilliance seemed to bloom in Freya's eyes. "Let us call out His name together, and summon His will!"
Her voice was very quiet, even softer than the crashing of the ocean waves; yet her voice was incredibly loud, capable of drowning out every other sound in the ears of all who paid attention.
Thus, The Faithful, those who truly wished to believe in the existence of the Norse Gods, followed her lead and began to chant that name:
"O... din..."
This muffled, low chant echoed around the ears of everyone on the beach. Whether they were paying attention to this Sacrifice or not, whether they possessed such bloodlines or not, the words of the ancient Gods seemed to resonate in their ears.
Everyone looked up in confusion, while those who were closely observing the Sacrifice had already sensed the Transcendent characteristics within this Ritual!
Streams of illusory Wish Force condensed around them, born from their half-belief and skepticism toward Transcendent phenomena.
This unique sound could only serve this much of a purpose.
But, this was only the beginning of the Sacrifice!
As The Faithful murmured the name belonging to the God King, across the sea, a figure suddenly caught the attention of many!
Especially on the Øresund Bridge, which was relatively close by. Some of the people driving on it suddenly noticed a mass of shadow appearing beside them, and they could not help but look up.
They saw that not far away from them, a massive boulder seemed to be moving across the surface of the sea!
Then came the gasps of sheer disbelief: "My God, what is that thing?"
"Ah, am I seeing a giant boulder moving on the ocean?"
"Crash!" A slow-stopping vehicle was rear-ended by the car behind it, bringing it to a complete halt.
The Bearded Men driver in the back originally wanted to come over and start trouble, but upon turning his head and seeing this spectacle, he couldn't help but say, "Allah above... has Your Angel descended?"
In an instant, the entire bridge fell into a terrible traffic jam, yet few people complained. Instead, they got out of their Vehicles and crowded by the edge of the bridge, wanting to see exactly what kind of thing it was!
Then, some people held up their foreign-made Smartphones, and through lenses magnified dozens of times, they saw the scene near the giant boulder!
"My God, my Allah, my Buddha... underneath that boulder, there's a person holding it up!"
Hearing these words, the already bustling bridge erupted into an incredibly terrifying frenzy of excitement!
Everyone scrambled to poke their heads out, desperate to witness this spectacle!
Some people who frequently surfed the internet finally formed a more concrete hypothesis: "I knew it, I knew it! Even Ameri has Transcendent Beings; how could our ancient country not have any Transcendent Beings appear?"
The emergence of such voices made the entire area two, three, and eventually countless times noisier...
Everyone was staring intently at this scene. Everyone raised their Cell Phones, witnessing the arrival of this Transcendent event, and naturally, broadcasting the events here to the rest of the world!
Meanwhile, the multitude of people on the beach had already heard Freya's command: "Our Saint has brought us the head of Mímir. Now, follow me on the path of Pilgrimage..."
As she spoke, she tightly gripped the ice-blue Crystal that Luowa had given her, taking the lead and walking straight toward the ocean before her!
Behind her, the numerous members of The Faithful followed closely in her footsteps!
The people on the beach could not clearly see the scene on the ocean and only wondered if this was a journey of self-Ritual Sacrifice by Cultists. But then, they saw an ice-blue light slowly extending from beneath the feet of the woman dressed as a Witch!
"What am I seeing? The surface of the sea... froze over?" someone rubbed their eyes in sheer disbelief!
