From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 153: The So-Called White Left

Chapter 153: The So-Called White Left

On the street, Percival and the many believers of Āsathrú were leading the group of ragged women toward their Church.

The Āsathrú Church served as their main headquarters. Having managed it for so long, it lacked nothing and was secure enough to safely house these unfortunate souls.

Furthermore, everyone knew that while these women were currently down on their luck, once they returned to their families, they would become the most loyal believers of Āsathrú.

The existence of the Berserker Percival and Witch Freya was no secret at all; rather, it was a completely public matter.

This fact was exceptionally clear in the eyes of the survivors.

Whether it was the man who charged through a hail of bullets to decimate the enemy, or the woman who used Witchcraft to awaken the survivors from their stupor, both caused streams of energy known as Wish Power to shimmer around these people.

Freya did not fully understand this energy herself, but the Crystal on her chest could draw upon it. It also helped her perform feats that a Witch was capable of, which was why she constantly sought ways to increase the amount of this energy.

She soon discovered that the prayers of The Faithful and the addition of newcomers to the sect could boost this energy, prompting her to preach with even greater enthusiasm.

Now, thanks to Percival's account, she learned of another function: the unique ability to awaken Berserkers.

"Could this be the legendary magic? Something that exists in the world, just like the Norse runes, as ancient as the gods themselves?"Freya was lost in her speculations when she was called out to by an Āsathrú believer:

"Ms. Fuleisha Karsen, our path forward has been blocked by a group of police officers!"

"The police?" Freya looked somewhat surprised upon hearing this. "Those people never show up when there is actual trouble. Why would they be here?"

To say the police in Malmö were entirely useless might be an understatement; they were practically good for nothing.

These officers would never appear while you were being harmed. Yet, once the violence ended, they would take you to the Police Department instead, simply because they lacked the courage to arrest the actual thugs.

Even if they did manage to catch the perpetrators, their attitude was mostly one of protection or leniency, which caused the residents of Malmö to harbor deep grievances against them.

Freya shared this sentiment, so she instructed Percival to watch over the traumatized survivors while she went to confront the police herself.

"Ma'am, parades are not allowed here. You need to disperse your group!" the lead officer shouted loudly, having guessed her status upon seeing Freya approach surrounded by followers.

"We are not holding a parade. We are conducting a humanitarian rescue!" Freya declared. As she stared at the officers, her Witch's intuition sensed something highly discordant about the situation.

Hearing her words, the officer in front of her showed no reaction and merely continued to shout, "Disperse your group! Parading on the streets is strictly forbidden right now!"

It was not that he failed to understand; he was simply looking for an excuse to intervene.

Freya understood perfectly. She looked at these officers, noting the mixture of apprehension and greed in their eyes, and chuckled. "I was wondering how this Gang could operate in the city without any collaborators. It turns out to be you all!"

At those words, the lead officer's expression changed drastically. He drew the baton from his waist and hollered, "Prepare for combat! We have someone resisting arrest!"

He never intended to resolve the matter peacefully. All of this was just a pretext, and Freya knew it very well.

She could clearly feel the malice radiating from the officers and see the greedy looks they cast toward the survivors behind her. Naturally, she could guess the reason. It was nothing more than official-bandit collusion and the funneling of illicit profits. In a capitalist society, such things were all too common.

However, being common did not make it right. Freya did not think it was right, and neither did Āsathrú!

Human lives belonged to the people themselves and to the gods, not to these human traffickers.

So, she made her move. She pulled out her Wand once again and gave it a gentle wave toward the men in front of her.

Under this subtle motion, the other officers collapsed limply to the sides. Only the lead man who had been negotiating with her remained standing.

"Come on, tell me. What kind of dirty business do you have with them, and who is backing you?"

Freya crossed her arms and looked at the sole standing officer, speaking softly. "I am not a very patient person. If you do not want to experience pain and despair, you had better behave and listen!" As she spoke, she pointed at the officer who harbored the most malice lying off to the side. With another wave of her hand, the man's limp body instantly curled up completely, like a shrimp.

An expression of absolute agony was vividly displayed on his contorted face. The sheer terror of enduring such immense pain while being completely unable to scream made the scene even more chilling.

Her actions were truly terrifying. Coupled with her standard Witch attire, the once-bold officer instantly lost all his courage.

He voluntarily followed the group back to the Church and explained the entire cause and effect of the situation to them.

"Our actions were approved by the chief, but the real big shot behind this is Member of Parliament Hannah Nori..."

Naturally, the Sheriff did not offer this sentence willingly; it was coerced out of him by Freya, which allowed her to extract even more detailed information:

"Human trafficking is a long-standing, highly profitable business. Many people benefit from this pipeline, ranging from the police, Gang members, and brokers, all the way up to police chiefs, parliament members, and even the Prime Minister..."

"The higher-ups all know about this, and they all profit from this network!"

"MP Hannah campaigns for them in parliament and provides political cover. She secures the police as collaborators. The police, in turn, provide personnel information and shield the Gang's locations, while the Gang carries out the kidnappings, conditioning, and trafficking, reaping massive profits in the process!"

"These profits fund the politicians' electoral campaigns, allowing them to push through specific legislation that further consolidates wealth for the corporations and conglomerates backing them!"

This Sheriff clearly had a deep understanding of the system. Judging by his age, it seemed he had been planning to establish a similar Chain of profit for himself once he retired from the force.

"It is all just business?" Beside Freya, Percival, who had just walked over, took a deep breath and spoke in disbelief. "They said it was for women's rights, for freedom of access, for a greener environment. Wasn't that all supposed to be for our benefit?"

"Championing women's rights allows them to legalize the sex trade and tax sex workers; freedom of access is championed because those companies pay bribes high enough to bring them even more revenue; a greener environment, of course, is just an excuse to block many companies from going public or building factories, allowing them to extort exorbitant sums..."

"Right now, the most lucrative venture is the Refugee business. Refugees give them an excuse to request massive funding from parliament, allowing them to line their own pockets..."

Hearing these words, Freya and Percival, who were both commoners at heart, fell completely silent.

No wonder their lives had been getting progressively worse. They had originally thought it was due to the global situation, but the biggest factor all along had been the selfish greed of these White leftist politicians!

What White leftist politicians? What cries for freedom, rights, and a better future?

At the end of the day, it was nothing more than a highly lucrative business scheme!

These people used such methods to brainwash the public and advocate for rights. Their words were high-sounding, but in reality, they were thoroughly corrupt and despicable!

They devoured the nation's taxes, devoured the country's future, and devoured the welfare and livelihoods of ordinary people. For the sake of their own pleasure, they acted like a pack of gluttons, greedily feeding upon and fracturing this very nation!

"Aren't they afraid of facing a backlash once they grow old and lose their power?" Percival asked further.

Freya did not even need to ask the Sheriff to come up with the answer. "This country allows dual citizenship. Once they have bled it dry, they can simply leave... And which nation is the biggest beneficiary of these agendas?"

"America!" Percival squeezed the name of the country out of the corner of his mouth, feeling a sudden chill in his heart.

The politicians of this country were all traitors. What could be done about this?

Freya, on the other hand, felt this was good news. "In that case, we won't have any psychological burden when we purge them, will we?"

"The gods have not issued any decrees, so who permitted them to run rampant across this land?"

"The Vikings have never had a true king. Any king who dares to ride on the heads of pirates must be prepared to be overthrown!"

"Well said! As expected of the descendants of the Vikings!" Right at that moment, a voice rang out beside them.

The two turned around in astonishment and saw the speaker: a man floating in midair.

"Do not be nervous. I believe the Valkyrie has already informed you of my arrival!" the man said with a smile. "My name is Luowa, a Saint personally appointed by Crown Odin. This city is my domain!"

"People are slaughtering my future believers in my territory, and I am very angry!"
