From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 137: Plans and Probing

Chapter 137: Plans and Probing

"Is this... the power of the Sacrifice?" someone outside muttered.

The surrounding crowd fell silent. They had initially thought this Transcendent Being was the full extent of it all, but now they realized they were wrong, horribly wrong.

The flames soaring into the sky and the faint, ethereal phantom of a deity all conveyed the sheer terror of this Sacrifice!

For a Transcendent Being backed by a deity, Transcendent Power was likely the least remarkable thing about them. Their most important asset was the attention and blessing of the God they served.

The ability to communicate with a God at any time and obtain their power was truly the most terrifying aspect. Compared to that, everything else was a mere drop in the ocean.

Take the current situation, for instance. Originally, the Sheriff had been debating whether to request permission from his superiors to go inside and investigate. Now, he simply turned off his Communicator and Cell Phone.

Go inside? Not a chance. If those people had a death wish, that was on them, but he still wanted to live!

However, asking everyone to leave right now was also a bit much. After all, this was the scene of a supernatural Sacrifice, and it was their very first time witnessing real-life Transcendence outside of the internet.

Some individuals with ties to the Original Inhabitants were even wondering if they could use those connections to get on the Transcendent Being's good side.

After all, this was the Transcendence that everyone had been eagerly anticipating! After completing the Sacrifice, Evan seemed to have exhausted his power. He slowly walked into the school, leaving behind the still-burning Pyramid bonfire and the silently standing wooden frames that had once bound people but were now reduced to ashes.

A massive gale suddenly swept in from afar, blowing right over their heads and stirring up a tempestuous surge of wind.

It swept the ashes of the sinful and the innocent alike high into the sky.

The main gates remained wide open, yet no one dared to take a single step forward.

Of course, they could still see Jeff and his Assistant slowly carrying out the bodies of the children. One by one, the highly contorted skeletons were laid out in the plaza, subjected to everyone's gaze.

As communications in the area were restored, this gaze rapidly expanded and spread across a much broader region.

More people learned the news from this place, and more people discovered this bloody revenge belonging to the Native Americans!

This included the White House, the City of Angels, the Vatican, and naturally, nations all over the world.

Those countries frantically searching for a so-called Divine Miracle within their own borders were green with envy looking at America. How did a nation devoid of native deities end up with so many instances of Transcendence?

However, their envy was merely a superficial fascination. If faced with it directly, they would be far less enthusiastic.

Golden Hair did not mind, as it was not a major issue to him. He was merely curious and casually asked, "Did such outrageous acts really occur in that place, and they are still ongoing?"

Having grown up in a big city, Golden Hair was still somewhat astonished upon hearing the news. Could these people really act so madly?

They actually dared to slaughter the Original Inhabitants, and in such a public manner, which was exactly what invited this bloody retribution.

Committing such blatantly illegal acts in this day and age? His predecessor, Deng Zi, would not have dared, and even that crazy woman had to do her dirty work in the dark!

"Great Leader, sir, you must understand that Alabama revoked black voting rights back in 2013. They are a very traditional group of people..." The Secretary of State spoke carefully, but Golden Hair immediately understood the hidden meaning!

Protestant, Puritan—when these people were devout, they were truly devout, but when they went crazy, they were genuinely insane. The fact that they could withstand immense public pressure from The Federation to strip away black voting rights meant that in this discriminatory country, they were openly discriminating against minorities!

Even so, they faced no punishment whatsoever, nor did they show any intention of reversing that Executive Order. It was not hard to see just how powerful their internal political forces were.

Although they supported Golden Hair, his political decrees held little weight with them.

This was the drawback of the federal system. To these powerful internal state officials, a so-called high-level federal Executive Order was only a decree if they acknowledged it; otherwise, it was just a worthless piece of paper!

"Oh! Such powerful forces? Since they have lost so many people, will anyone want to test the true quality of Transcendence?" Golden Hair asked with deep interest.

"Actually, they already have. Fifteen minutes ago, agents at Birmingham Airport detected that a unit of the National Guard left their base!" The Secretary of State's words made Golden Hair sit straight up from his reclining position. "Wow, they certainly have guts!"

"Have the FBI in the Birmingham area follow them. Tell them not to take any action; just monitor the combat situation between them for me!"

"I imagine many people will be quite interested in the Combat Power of this Indigenous American Transcendent Being!"

Hearing Golden Hair's words, the Secretary of State understood. "Great Leader, do you mean we should do nothing and just watch?"

"Of course we do nothing. How exactly do you expect me to intervene? Issue them an Executive Order? Make them listen to me?" Golden Hair was genuinely a smart man, and he spoke bluntly. "Don't crack jokes that even Kennedy wouldn't believe. You know the situation in these central states better than I do!"

Golden Hair waved his hand dismissively. "Using this force that I can't command anyway to test the Combat Power of these Transcendent Beings is absolutely perfect!" "You are absolutely right!" the Secretary of State quickly agreed, bowing his head as he took his leave.

Golden Hair narrowed his eyes, looking at the document he had tossed onto his desk: "Discussions on Matters Relating to the Merger of the Catholic Church and Protestantism". The golden-red seals and signatures on it clearly indicated that this was an internal document belonging to The Church.

After the Gods descended to the world and cemented the status of the Catholic Church, these people who fashioned themselves as Servants of God did not hesitate to start extending their reach!

Naturally, Golden Hair could not fall out with them. Lincoln's relics had already informed them that the future crises of this nation would inevitably require the help of these Charlatans.

However, while the America of the past had the confidence to openly reject such groups, he did not have that luxury now. Thus, he desperately wanted to find a force capable of contending with Transcendence, and this current confrontation was his attempt at doing exactly that.

"Even if we cooperate with the Original Inhabitants, we must safeguard the rights of America!"

"If this group truly possesses power, then yielding some authority, or even handing Mexico over to them, isn't entirely out of the question..."

Golden Hair subconsciously began giving away things that belonged to others, and he did so with absolute ease and delight!

(Mexico: Curse my luck!)

To him, having two Transcendent Divine Pantheons keep each other in check was perhaps the best option. What difference was there between one dominant faction and the Holy Roman Empire of old?

He could accept swearing his oath of office on The Bible, but he absolutely could not accept having his power granted by the Pope!

...

Meanwhile, upon seeing the arrival of this National Guard unit, Bai Yang was also surprised by the formidable power and resolve of this local Government!

"Alvin, the people of this state are quite tough!"

"Crown, defiance and toughness are exactly the biggest bargaining chips the Politicians in this state use to attract votes. For the sake of their future ballots, even in the face of immense risk, they have to try!"

Alvin was monitoring the information from that side and casually asked, "Are you preparing to punish them?"

"There's no need. Given the nature of the Indigenous Americans, they will have plenty of fun encounters in the future! Besides, don't you think this makes for an even grander show?" Bai Yang gazed at the thousand-man squad and chuckled. "Mictlan has just appeared, and these people are the perfect supporting cast to set the stage!"

"The scale might get massive, Crown. This will be a collision between a Divine Kingdom and a modern army..." Alvin noted. "I will go prepare the contingency plans. Do you wish to operate this personally?"

"No need. What I am operating is the far more important element: the survival of an entire Divine Pantheon network... Pour all the God Power we've collected during this period into it!"

"Of course, Crown. Your will shall be perfectly executed!" Alvin bowed his head and vanished from Bai Yang's sight.

In the next second, the dark figure of The Core appeared before Bai Yang.

Compared to Alvin, The Core lacked a great deal of subjective initiative, but it could execute commands flawlessly and possessed an infinitely powerful processing brain. For Bai Yang's current needs, that was more than enough.

Bai Yang looked at The Core's black-cloaked form. It closely matched certain depictions of a Death God, but it was vastly different from the Death God found in Aztec mythology.

"Hmm... let me think. Should you transform into Mictlantecuhtli, or would Ah Puch be a better fit for you?"

There were simply too many deities among the Native Americans. Although Bai Yang had consolidated some of them, it was still excessively complicated.

"It doesn't matter, just merge them together! There are no other designers in this world anyway, so whatever I say goes. Isn't it perfectly normal for ancient records and legends to be distorted?"

Bai Yang waved his hand casually, causing The Core before him to begin transforming.

It shed its cloaked persona and gradually shifted into a skeleton. A Staff and a peculiar ringing bell materialized in its hands, while Owl Feathers and various vibrant bird feathers adorned its head.

This was the standard image of the Original Inhabitants' Death God. Bai Yang nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. Go out there and give the people of this world a little taste of a Death God's terror!"
