From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 117: The World-Destroying Giant Serpent

Chapter 117: The World-Destroying Giant Serpent

Golden Hair's orders were naturally effective, especially in this deeply red state.

After the Great Leader's command came down, Sanders Rodriguez had personally rushed to the seaside, where he spotted a striking dash of red robes standing at the port.

Angus stood right there, locked in a standoff with Jose.

Both men were gazing out over the ocean from the port, completely ignoring the car that had pulled up behind them and the people stepping out of it.

"Cardinal Angus, hello! I am the Governor of Florida, Sanders Rodriguez! The Great Leader sent me to find you!" Sanders took the initiative to step forward and shake Angus's hand, before following his gaze toward the mirror-like ocean.

Angus nodded. "You have done well. This will save many lives!"

"I have issued an executive order. Within an hour, the entire port will be completely sealed off, and the tourists will be evacuated gradually over the next few hours."

Although this level of efficiency could only be described as abysmal, in America, achieving such speed was purely the result of Sanders's masterful control over the state.

"Thank you for your hard work, Governor," Angus replied, keeping his eyes on the sea. "I know what you are worried about, but I will not lie. A crisis is indeed coming! It is not just the beaches and the port; all buildings near the coast might need to be evacuated as well!"

"Everything near the coast needs evacuation?" Sanders, assuming Angus was unaware of their tsunami defense measures, explained with a smile. "Do not worry, Mr. Angus. We have dedicated drainage channels along the coast. Water will not accumulate!"Angus shook his head. "It is not water, but monsters! A monster that controls the ocean is slowly marching toward this city!"

"Monsters? Controlling the ocean? Could it be the Sea God or some other mythical sea monster?" Sanders asked.

Now that he had been exposed to the supernatural, having such thoughts was entirely normal.

He was using his own perspective to comprehend this world, hoping to elicit more information from Angus.

"It is a sea monster, but exactly what kind, I do not know!" Angus declared. "Therefore, I can only advise you to make preparations and brace for the worst-case scenario!"

While they conversed, a man came running from the port. Dressed in a sharp suit, he marched straight toward them.

"Mr. Sanders, I demand an explanation!" the man shouted. He clearly knew the governor was there and had come specifically for him. "My ship just entered the port and was about to unload, but the port staff told me to leave immediately because they are shutting the place down!"

"Furthermore, I hear this order came straight from the governor's office? Have you gone mad?"

The man was practically fuming as he bellowed, "My entire ship is loaded with fruit! Do you understand what that means? The financial loss from spoilage increases by tens of thousands of dollars with every passing minute!"

That was the nature of the fruit trade; timeliness was an absolute requirement. A single minute's delay meant discarding massive amounts of spoiled goods.

He was evidently wealthy and held significant status in the state to confront the governor so directly.

"Mr. Mayer, I apologize, but our hands are tied!" Sanders recognized the man—a famous local businessman and the owner of a major shipping company. "I know you are anxious, but a tsunami is coming. The port is currently very dangerous, so please leave immediately!"

"A tsunami?" The man named Mayer laughed out of sheer frustration. "Tell me, with sea conditions like this, where exactly is the tsunami?"

Behind him, the sea and sky met in perfect harmony. It was a clear blue sky, the most brilliant weather imaginable, without a hint of disaster.

The idea of a tsunami in such weather was as laughable as someone claiming his own children were not his!

"It is a tsunami, and a massive one at least thirty meters tall!" Jose chimed in from the side. "He is right. Leaving here at once is your best option!"

The state government's words carried weight. At the very least, the people on the beach were already packing up and leaving, the port was gradually shutting down, and several ships were sounding their horns as they departed.

However, this was not enough to convince the wealthy businessman.

Mayer whipped his head around to glare at Jose. "And who are you? Speaking such obscure English? Do you think you are Shakespeare?"

Jose's previous words had been filled with archaic vocabulary and slang, sounding remarkably like a regional British dialect. It was understandable but incredibly jarring.

Angus narrowed his eyes at this Transcendent Being, forming his own speculations, but he took the initiative to step between Mayer and Jose anyway.

If he did not intervene, this suited man would have been swatted to death by Jose in a single slap. The bricks and stones beneath their feet had already begun to tremble. This was blatantly a mortal provoking a Transcendent Being.

"The Lord says, slaughter is a sin and must be cleansed!" Angus's words carried motes of white light that sprinkled the surroundings, temporarily quelling Jose's fury.

He shot Mayer a dark look. "You are incredibly lucky a Cardinal happens to be here. Otherwise, with a mouth like yours, you would have already turned into that stone!"

Jose waved his hand, scattering rune-like radiance. A decorative seaside boulder a short distance away exploded with a thunderous crash, shattering into a shower of gravel.

"What the hell?" Mayer, Sanders, and all the onlookers paying attention to them were instantly dumbfounded. This incredibly eccentric man, whose speech was laced with slang and strange dialects, was actually a genuine Transcendent Being?

They had actually encountered a Transcendent Being here? And the man had even been advising them to leave?

Mayer was instantly drenched in cold sweat. The shadow of death loomed over him as he stumbled backward without daring to turn around. "I am sorry, I am so sorry! I wasted your time, I did not mean it! I will go order my ship to leave the port right now!" As he babbled his apologies, his hurried walk turned into a sprint. He ran faster and faster until, by the time the crowd looked up again, he had completely vanished.

Sanders cast his gaze toward Jose as well. In that moment, all his doubts utterly dissipated. Instead, he rejoiced that he had heeded Great Leader Golden Hair's warning!

This world had truly changed. Transcendent Beings, previously unseen, were now standing right before his eyes—two of them!

"And this gentleman is..." Sanders asked tentatively.

"Solomon Cult, Jose!" Jose stated, sparing words like gold. There was a newfound urgency in his tone, allowing Angus to observe him even more astutely from the side.

Seeing that Sanders had more questions, Angus intervened bluntly, "A heretic tainted by the Devil's power. Governor, it would be best if you did not interact with him too much..."

Hearing Angus say this, Sanders naturally snapped his mouth shut, asking no further questions. Nor was he curious about why the heretic had not started a brawl with the Bishop.

Was it not obvious? Their eyes were entirely fixed on the distant sea. In other words, the impending crisis had forced these two clearly hostile Transcendent Beings to temporarily set aside their differences and confront the danger first!

What kind of crisis could compel a Cardinal to willingly abandon a fight with a heretic?

The more Sanders thought about it, the more a terrifying chill crept down his spine!

It was not long before all the ships along the coast had departed. Suddenly, everyone felt the ground tremble. Angus and Jose were the first to snap their heads toward the ocean.

A colossal wave was rising on the distant horizon, inching higher and higher.

From their vantage point, it looked as if the very horizon was being lifted upward, completely obliterating the boundary between sea and sky!

"My God!" Sanders stood frozen in shock. The tsunami was actually here, and it was swelling to unimaginable, catastrophic proportions right before their eyes!

It was broad daylight, the weather was crystal clear, yet the crisis was already crashing down upon them!

...

Not far away, inside the American Southern Command, a video feed captured by a drone launched from an early warning aircraft materialized before the military personnel!

It showed a tsunami forming out of thin air far from the city, slowly advancing toward the distant metropolis.

This left everyone utterly bewildered. Without any supporting weather conditions, how could a tsunami like this just appear?

It defied all logic! There was no meteorological basis for it, nor were there any lunar tides to trigger it!

"Fuck, what is that thing?" As a startled cry echoed out, everyone in the command room leaped to their feet and stared at the screen.

On the main monitor, a black shadow flickered twice before sharpening into focus.

It was a gargantuan serpentine creature, gently stretching its form on the ocean's surface. As it uncoiled, the entire sea violently convulsed.

A second massive swell surged forth from beneath its belly as it stretched, churning outward and barreling straight for Miami.

Now everyone knew exactly what was causing the tsunami, but not a single person could muster a smile.

The behemoth appeared to merely be playing in the water, yet the displaced ocean had already coalesced into a terrifying tidal wave surging toward the city!

"How large... is that serpent?" the General asked, his eyes narrowing.

"Based on the radar cross-section, it is approximately three hundred meters long with an average diameter of about thirteen meters! It is many times larger than the biggest python in history!" someone quickly reported.

"And how do we explain this to the Pentagon? Tell them a snake is triggering a natural disaster and preparing to wipe out our city?" the General murmured in a grave voice.

"That is the only way, General! The Great Leader has issued an order for us to ready our weapons and troops. We must prepare to strike at a moment's notice!" an operator nearby stated.

Hearing those words, a profound sense of absurdity washed over the room. It felt like a plot from a sci-fi blockbuster. The US Military was unrivaled, unmatched by any nation on the planet—so did that mean they now had to wage war against an apocalyptic monster?

The room plunged into silence, even the General falling quiet.

Whoever wanted this suicide mission could have it. They definitely wanted no part of it; that serpent looked absolutely horrifying!

On the screen, the giant serpent breached the surface like a leaping fish, plunging into the deep before rocketing back out.

At that moment, a sharp-eyed soldier noticed something bizarre. "That snake has no tail? It is a two-headed serpent?"

The colossal two-headed serpent seemed to spot the aircraft high above. A pair of eyes locked onto them, and then its massive jaws opened wide.

The screen went completely black just as a new report came in: "General, we have lost contact with the drone! The early warning aircraft is experiencing severe electromagnetic interference and is forced to return to base!"

A deathly hush fell over the room. They knew this was likely just a show of force!

A show of force from a world-destroying giant monster!
