The Woodward Family’s fragrance business, on the brink of bankruptcy due to Rachel Woodward’s repeated failings, has had all partners withdraw.
This outcome is quite gratifying.
However, Nora Northwood didn’t feel as happy as she imagined she would.
Lynn Woodward, upon hearing the news, disregarded her family’s advice and made a scene with Grandma Sinclair.
"Even though we’re all family, the Sinclairs have put in money and effort for her, and yet, now she turns around and stabs me in the back!"
Lynn Woodward’s voice was loud, making Grandma Sinclair’s head throb, wanting the butler to chase her out of the study.
Ultimately, holding onto the bond of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, she didn’t really chase her away.
"Lynn, at the root of it, it was the young girl from the Woodward Family who was at fault first. Since she committed this deed, she must face the consequences accordingly. Wouldn’t you agree it’s this path we must take?"
The old lady tried to reason, but the other was completely unyielding, even presenting nonsensical arguments.
"Quarrels among young people, why drag in family interests? Mom, if you don’t handle her today, one day she’ll tear off the Sinclair Family’s roof!"
Clearly a business issue, Lynn Woodward exaggerated it, making it sound increasingly severe.
By the end, the old lady was weary.
"Instead of having idle time to argue here, why not think about whether the situation can be salvaged? Have the driver take you back to the Woodward Family."
The old lady’s last sentence was a command, not a negotiation, and certainly not offering a suggestion.
Lynn Woodward felt utterly defeated, realizing this path was a dead end.
How could she reconcile being deceived by the younger generation?
Midway through the driver taking Lynn Woodward away, she ordered him, "Turn at the crossroads ahead, to VK."
"The old lady said to take you back to the Woodward Family."
The driver’s face showed difficulty, which Lynn Woodward saw as adding insult to injury, immediately lashing out, "The Woodward Family hasn’t fallen yet, and even if they do, I am still the second wife of The Sinclair Residence, are you all really servants under human authority that I can’t command?"
Her words were incredibly harsh.
The driver had served the Sinclair Family faithfully for twenty years, longer than Rachel Woodward had ever been in The Sinclair Residence. Even the old lady had never given him attitude, what right does the second wife have?

The receptionists at the front were all young girls in their early twenties, unaccustomed to major grievances in society, usually, if they encountered difficult guests, Yvonne Winslow would come out to pacify them.
But never had they seen someone like Rachel Woodward, pointing fingers and berating them without any sense of decorum.
