Chapter 685: Thank You for Understanding Me

Chapter 685: Thank You for Understanding Me

Before going back home, Jasper Sinclair contacted Louis Hayes and Megan Underwood on WeChat, asking them to coordinate and relocate the patient.

The next day.

Nora Northwood woke up in the morning.

If it weren’t for the incessant alarm clock, she and Jasper Sinclair might have slept until the sun was high.

The first to react reached for the phone and turned off all the alarms.

Just as they were about to lift the blanket, a hand wrapped around their waist, "Nora, let’s sleep a bit longer."

"Today is a workday," Nora reminded the person behind her, as they had to go to work soon.

"I’ll take you to the office on my way later."

When Jasper Sinclair was stubborn, no one could convince him otherwise.

So, the two of them snuggled together and went back to sleep; they were exhausted from the night before and hadn’t recovered yet.

They slept until three in the afternoon, sleeping soundly.

Nora raised three fingers and swore by her ear, saying, "I’ll never drink again."

Getting drunk had messed things up, and she still had unresolved issues.

"A little drink now and then is fine; why not get a wine cabinet on the first floor someday?"

Nora couldn’t tell if Jasper Sinclair was joking or serious.

She stood in front of the mirror, splashing her face with cold water to try and wake up.

There were marks of varying depth on her neck, and she blushed, "Jasper, are you a dog or something?"

"If you want me to be, then I am."

Uncle Kevin, right on cue, instructed the kitchen to prepare goji berry pork liver soup for them.

Nora thought it was merely a coincidence, little knowing how suggestive the sheets they changed the night before were.

As they ladled the soup, Jasper Sinclair tentatively asked her, "Have you let out all your emotions? If not, there’s always a second round."

Nora was sipping soup, looking at him over the edge of her bowl.

After some thought, she said, "No need for a second round, but there is one more thing."

Nora wasn’t too familiar with the situation about transferring the patient and had no idea which hospital in Stanton City was better suited for cardiac patients.

She could only turn to the man sitting across from her for help.

But she needed to organize her words first, having been sold out by someone in the front and then cleaning up the mess for them afterwards... she feared that the moment she spoke, Jasper would laugh at her.

Jasper watched her biting her lip, frowning every now and then, and couldn’t wait any longer, "Are you asking about the hospital?"

Nora raised her eyes, her expression suddenly lively, as if asking: How did you know?

Compared to last night, Jasper preferred this version of her, and he immediately responded, "I knew you’d worry about it, but it’s already taken care of. However, a piece of advice for you, those who need to be fired should be fired; otherwise, it will be difficult to establish authority in the company in the future, understand?"

"I understand all the reasoning."

Despite understanding, Nora still felt wistful.

They were colleagues after all, and what she could do for Mina was limited; she was never one to push things to a dead end.

"Are you going to the company today?"

"I’ll show my face, resolve the matters that need handling, and remind those who remain."

Hearing that Nora intended to go, Jasper didn’t stop her; instead, he volunteered to drive her to VK.

After all, delaying things could lead to unnecessary trouble over time.

The two parted on the roadside, with Jasper saying that he had no particularly important schedule today and would wait downstairs.

Before parting, Nora gave him a light hug and whispered in his ear, "Jasper, thank you for understanding me."
