Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 637: Bonfire Party

Chapter 637: Bonfire Party

In the afternoon, the group watched the entire sunset from the mountain peak before taking the cable car back to the hotel.

The hotel owner arranged for torches to be lit, grandly calling it: a bonfire party.

The fire pit was filled with black charcoal sticks, constantly emitting a "sizzle" sound.

The bonfire added a lot of fun to the journey.

Nora thought the money was well spent, especially since they got to see The Crescent Bridge.

At eight o’clock sharp, the night lights turned on.

The bridge’s halo was reflected in the water, seamlessly forming a crescent moon shape, occasionally stirred by small boats, leaving ripples on the surface.

Nora rested her head on Jasper Sinclair’s shoulder, holding a wilted trumpet vine in her hand.

In the glow of the bonfire, her eyes were bright as she asked the person next to her, "Have you smelled the scent of trumpet vine before?"

"No," Jasper Sinclair answered honestly, cutting the conversation short.

Nora didn’t find it boring and began to describe what the trumpet vine smelled like in her memory.

When she was very young, she lived with May Lawrence in a village. May would take her to the town once a month to buy the necessary supplies.

Travel days were always the happiest times for Nora.

The bus between the village and the town would pick up villagers at a fixed spot.

Nora remembered that there were always trumpet vines at that spot.

To her, trumpet vines were nostalgic, with the most earthy scent and the freshness of dew.

Opposite them sat Finnian Lawrence and Lily Sloan, with about half a meter between them, as if they were strangers.

The flames danced in Finnian’s eyes, yet his gaze was empty.

As the flames grew smaller, people couldn’t hold back.

He asked Lily Sloan, "What have you been busy with lately?"

A bit like making small talk, and he felt the question was meaningless after asking.

Nonetheless, his companion responded.

"Busy with work, the new quarter is coming soon."

Their distance was indeed not close, and Lily Sloan’s voice became rather elusive.

Next came an endless silence.

In the crowd, someone suggested drinking in celebration. Most people present were young men and women, who agreed eagerly, waiting for the owner to speak.

Rarely out for fun, Nora didn’t want to spoil the mood and simply said, "Drink responsibly, in moderation."

So, the hotel owner offered several kinds of drinks and made a small fortune.

Jasper Sinclair didn’t drink; Nora told him, "Wait for me for a moment."

Once she had walked a bit away, he took out his phone and aimed the rear camera at Nora’s departing figure and the bonfire.

"Click—" The image froze.

Not long after, Nora jogged back, out of breath, with two bottles of Rio in her hands.

She stuffed a blue bottle into Jasper Sinclair’s hand and said, "This is for you, don’t break the atmosphere."

The man fiddled with the frosted-feel bottle, spotting a price tag the size of a fingernail on the bottom.

He then showed a slightly displeased expression, all of which was noticed by Nora.

"I’ll open a good bottle for you when we get home, let’s make do for today."

The two clinked their bottles, producing a clear "clink" sound in the air.

Jasper Sinclair took a sip, his emotions inexplicably bubbling up; soon, the fruity aroma filled his senses.

Looking across, the distance between Finnian Lawrence and Lily Sloan seemed to have closed... by a few centimeters.
