Chapter 634: Family Members Welcome

Chapter 634: Family Members Welcome

Team-building event, feel free to bring your significant other.

Yvonne Winslow invited Rhys Linden to join, and many young men and women brought their partners.

Nora Northwood noticed things were not right; the team-building event was almost turning into a couples’ party. She wondered if her friend Lily Sloan, being single, might feel sentimental.

After much contemplation, she decided to try to match Lily Sloan with Finnian Lawrence.

How would they know if there’s no outcome if they don’t even give it a try?

So, she forwarded the team-building plan to her social media, leaving the rest to fate.

Eight hours passed, and Nora’s phone was still silent.

She started to get anxious, wondering if Finnian Lawrence even had a habit of checking social media!

Seeing the event drawing closer, Nora came up with another idea.

She resent the key details on her social media again.

This time, she intended to set it visible only to Finnian Lawrence.

Unexpectedly, in her nervousness while editing, she mistakenly clicked "Remind who to view" instead of "Who can view," and by the time she realized it, Finnian Lawrence had already reached out to her.

Nora awkwardly explained in the chat box: "Accidentally clicked the wrong option; there’s a colleague at VK whose name differs from yours by just one character."

She wasn’t sure if Finnian believed her excuse, but that didn’t matter.

What mattered was that he accepted her invitation.

Nora excitedly shared the news with her friend, but Lily Sloan’s response was puzzling.

Holding her phone, she dejectedly asked Jasper Sinclair for help with analysis: "Is Lily upset about what I did?"

"Everyone has their own fate. They will handle their relationship themselves."

Jasper couldn’t comprehend the unique emotional nuances among women, so he took her phone away to distract Nora, preventing these trivial matters from affecting her mood.

After the phone was taken away, only one lamp was left lit in the bedroom.

Nora was half-hugged, with her forehead resting against Jasper’s chin, legs stretched straight.

She was intimidated by the man’s energy and quickly pleaded: "We have to climb a mountain with everyone tomorrow; let’s sleep separately tonight."

Jasper wouldn’t listen to that. He adjusted his position slightly, lifted her chin with his knuckles, and asked with a grin: "Can’t you spare some thought for me after considering others?"

"Once I return from the hike, seven times a night won’t be a problem."

Nora had casually thrown out this excuse, not expecting Jasper to take it seriously.

After negotiating, the man grudgingly moved off her, laying on his side.

Jasper propped his elbow on the bed, with his hand partly supporting his jawline, eyes intent.

It seemed to say: If you don’t sleep, we’ll go back to that position.

Nora felt uneasy under his gaze and whispered: "You’re coming with me to climb the mountain tomorrow, so get some rest early too."

After saying this, she lifted her arm, wrapping it around Jasper’s neck, pulling them a bit closer.

She gave a slightly tired yawn, two tears slid from the corners of her eyes, stinging her, making her realize she truly needed rest.

Jasper stopped bothering her, kissed her lightly on the tip of her nose, and willingly offered his arm as her pillow.

"Goodnight, Nora."

Nora snuggled in his embrace to show she acknowledged his goodnight.
