Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 617: Everyday Routine

Chapter 617: Everyday Routine

Finnian Lawrence didn’t tease her for being inexperienced, and instead began to explain carefully: "This area is managed by the government, and it’s not exactly the Lawrence Family’s land. Back then, Grandpa paid a sky-high rent to the government just to win a beauty’s smile, earning temporary residency rights."

"How sky-high was it?"

Lily Sloan was like a curious baby.

"In their era, it was roughly starting from a hundred million."

The curious baby gasped at this, exclaiming, "Enough to buy a hundred of me."

Finnian Lawrence looked at Lily without any identifiable emotion in his eyes, "A million could’ve been enough to buy off."

Lily met his gaze, her expression momentarily frozen, and then, gathering courage from somewhere, she asked him, "Would you want to buy off?"

Which man wouldn’t be tempted?

Finnian Lawrence was pondering how to respond without seeming frivolous when Miss Nanny came out with a tray, saying, "Worried you’d be hungry, I made a few simple dishes, come and try them."

Her question just asked had no answer.

Lily’s cheeks were already blush red, fortunately covered by foundation, so it wasn’t too obvious.

On the wooden dining table were blue-and-white porcelain plates, assorted vegetables, egg custard, cumin beef... the simplest home-cooked dishes inexplicably brought a sense of warmth.

Lily had been controlling her weight recently and didn’t dare eat too much. When Miss Nanny was about to serve her another bowl of rice, she waved her hand repeatedly, "Thank you, Miss Nanny, I’m full. Your cooking is really good."

Miss Nanny muttered, "Eating such little food won’t fill you..." and happily added, "Come by when you have time, let Finnian bring you over, I have many more specialties!"

After a few words of chat, the topic turned to Finnian Lawrence.

Miss Nanny asked, "Isn’t your birthday coming up soon? I’m old and forgetful, always forgetting the dates, but it seems pretty close."

Finnian Lawrence didn’t mind and laughed, saying, "It’s on the eighteenth of next month, I’ll need to trouble you for long-life noodles then."

Lily quietly listened, unable to interject, just noted the number "eighteen" in her heart, her fingers playing under the table, calculating, it’s only twenty days away.

What gift should she prepare for him?

Over there, Finnian Lawrence and Miss Nanny had finished chatting, and he turned around to tell her, "Lily, I’ll take you home."

"Oh, okay." She nodded like a pecking chick, and apologetically smiled for her earlier distraction.

On the way back to the car, Lily glanced at her phone, there was a new message from half an hour ago, from Nora Northwood.

Asking her, "How are things with Finnian?"

Taking advantage of the half minute while Finnian walked from the back of the car to the driver’s seat, she quickly replied, "Far off."

The phone returned to her pocket, and Lily’s thoughts went back to that unanswered question.

Should she ask again?

Elsewhere.

Nora finished washing up, saw her friend’s reply, and fell into a dilemma of extreme indecisiveness.

She tugged on Jasper Sinclair’s arm, swinging it to plead for advice: "Do you think I should give Lily a little hint?"

"Everyone has their own fate, stop obsessing over their relationship. If you have extra energy, why not focus it on me, wouldn’t you agree, Nora?"

Jasper Sinclair spoke while unbuttoning her nightwear.

Quickly, Nora’s collarbone was exposed, followed by an expanse of snow-like whiteness.

Nora looked up and met the man’s obscure gaze.

"Speaking nicely, but you’re really not behaving!"
