Chapter 607: Social Death at the Office

Chapter 607: Social Death at the Office

"Nora, are you done with work?"

Jasper Sinclair’s voice sounded a bit cool and distant, clearly not yet shifted from work mode.

"Yeah, the exhibition is pretty much over, so Cillian brought me over."

In just a few words, the distance between them closed to almost nothing.

Nora Northwood buried her face in his neck, inhaling the scent of sandalwood, quickly revealing that she had been drinking.

"Who did you drink with?"

"The brand representatives, just a little, I’m not drunk."

Their fingertips entwined, Jasper gently led her to the leather sofa, sitting side by side.

"Why didn’t you wait for me at the hotel?"

"Nothing to do at the hotel, might as well come to see you."

Nora’s eyes, misty and sparkling, gazed at the man in front of her. She held onto the hand resting on her face tightly.

"I thought you came because you missed me."

Jasper said, sounding pitiful.

"Of course I missed you."

Nora leaned in, offering her soft lips, with a lingering taste of whiskey in her mouth, repeatedly kissed.

Jasper wrapped his arm around her waist, their bodies fitting snugly together.

In the process, he undid the belt around her waist.

Her coat opened, releasing the warmth from within her body.

Jasper’s fingers roamed, lingering from her side waist to her chest, teasingly asking, "Does this place miss me? Or this place?"

Nora, squirming from the ticklishness but unwilling to pull away, pushed forward, mumbling through her lips and teeth, "Both miss you a lot."

Her answer pleased the man, and he kissed her again, "There’s still a project proposal to finalize. Take a rest or wander around."

"Alright, I’ll wait for you."

Jasper returned to his desk, as if nothing had happened, still a gentleman.

Only Nora, blushing and embarrassed, dared not look at him again.

To get back to the hotel as soon as possible, Jasper sped up his work, but it still ended after nightfall.

When he looked over at Nora again, he found the little girl lying on her side on the sofa, already asleep, seemingly very tired.

So, he first contacted the driver.

The driver parked the car downstairs and silently waited for its owner.

Nora was gently picked up, and upon smelling the familiar scent, she curled up a bit and found a more comfortable position.

After a while, her senses detected the change in the surrounding environment, forcing her to open her eyes. Her pupils dilated instantly, thinking she was in a dream.

Countless eyes, wanting to look yet not daring to, were secretly glancing at her and Jasper as they walked past.

Nora felt socially mortified, something she hadn’t experienced in years, not even when rejected by collaborators.

"Why didn’t you wake me up?"

She whispered, not even daring to lift her head to look at the group of people working late at night.

"You were sleeping so soundly, I was going to carry you to the car." As he spoke, Jasper tightened his grip a bit, holding her securely.

Back in the car, Nora was no longer sleepy and said dejectedly, "I won’t come to the office to see you next time."

"Are you feeling shy now?"

"In front of so many people, they must be secretly criticizing you for being an unprofessional boss!"

Jasper was indifferent, only caring if she had rested enough.

On the way, they passed a CHANEL store. Nora leaned against the window for a closer look, which someone quietly noted in their heart.
