Chapter 561: Looks Familiar
Chapter 561: Looks Familiar
The coffee splashed out, spilling onto Nora Northwood and the other woman’s chest. Before she could react, a piercing scream sounded in her ears.
"Ah—who’s so careless!"
Nora was startled, standing there dumbfounded. After getting a clear look at the woman’s face, she apologized, "I’m sorry, I have tissues here, please wipe your clothes first."
Saying this, she hurriedly took out a pack of tissues from her shoulder bag and handed it over.
This woman—why does she seem familiar?
This mall caters to high-end clients, and nearby villa prices are at least hundreds of thousands per square meter.
Nora couldn’t remember where she had seen the woman before, but was certain that she seemed wealthy.
Wealth is one thing, manners are another; the two shouldn’t be confused.
Seeing Nora apologize first, the woman immediately felt justified and started a barrage of criticism.
"Do you know how expensive these clothes are? Do you go out without looking? How are you going to compensate me if it doesn’t wash out?"
Nora immediately recognized the brand she was wearing, a personal brand of a domestic designer, priced around seventy to eighty thousand, truly expensive.
The only challenging part is that each item is a unique design, impossible to find a second one in the market.
Nora wasn’t upset by her shouting, and continued speaking calmly, "Please let me know the price, and I will compensate according to its original price, or choose an item of the same value in the mall."
Just then, a familiar face approached.
"Mom, what are you doing here?" Rachel Woodward froze upon seeing Nora, "You... you two?"
"My good mood for shopping is all ruined. Look, this person splashed me with coffee, no manners at all!" Mrs. Woodward complained to her daughter.
Nora suddenly realized why this middle-aged woman looked familiar—it’s Rachel Woodward’s mother.
Like mother, like daughter; the saying proves true.
Rachel became enthusiastic, assuming a stance of the rich lady. She received fairly good education from a young age, differing from Mrs. Woodward.
She wouldn’t embarrass others in public, now acting kind.
"Miss Northwood, luckily you bumped into my mom, it’d be difficult to resolve if it were anyone else. I know about your recent relationship troubles, are you trying to relax with some shopping?"
Mrs. Woodward’s attitude didn’t improve upon hearing they were acquainted; she knew her daughter well.
If they were close, she would have already pleaded on Nora’s behalf!
Thus, she chimed in, "Walking without looking, I guess it’s understandable if you’re having relationship trouble."
Mrs. Woodward came from a common background, in comparison was even more so than May Lawrence, having entered the Woodward Family through a shotgun wedding. She faced gossip and hardships over the years, her temper increasingly volatile.
She couldn’t trouble those of the Woodward Family; finally catching someone outside, she wouldn’t let go easily!
The three gathered, their bickering attracting the attention of numerous onlookers.
Elaine came over to inspect the situation, catching sight of Nora in distress.
She noticed her daughter’s displeased expression, didn’t make any assumptions, and went straight over.
"Nora."
A gentle voice sounded from behind, making Nora feel as if she’d seen a savior.
Moments before, she had been silently grumbling: What a bully! Is your mother the only one in the world?
