Chapter 515: Waiting All Night
Chapter 515: Waiting All Night
Jasper Sinclair stopped her right before she made the call, "She should bear the responsibility for her mistake. If you keep indulging her, the whole company will not take their work seriously."
"The document can be signed tomorrow morning."
"If it doesn’t get signed tomorrow morning, who will cover the factory’s cost of hundreds of thousands a day?"
Nora Northwood was speechless.
She wanted to have the guts to say, "I’ll cover it," but she couldn’t manage the funds at hand.
Everyone thought she had transformed into a big boss with her own business, but little did they know that all her disposable funds were invested in VK.
She could not see any immediate returns.
The profits from VK were set aside by her to buy back shares worth fifty million from Jasper Sinclair, so that portion of the funds absolutely couldn’t be touched, not even a penny.
Finnian Lawrence was on the verge of exhaustion, and his natural restraint prevented him from abandoning the distressed girl at the airport.
Scene after scene unfolded before the assistant’s eyes, and he mistakenly believed that Manager Sloan secretly admired their young master, following him to the airport just to deliver a token of love.
A forty-episode drama of a lovesick girl pursuing her love had already taken shape in his mind.
Then, the two men started following Lily Sloan to help her find her lost tote bag.
Lily backtracked her steps but couldn’t even catch a glimpse of her bag. She couldn’t help but mutter, "I was just sitting here eating a sandwich, I didn’t go anywhere!"
In the end, she bit her lip lightly and let out a dejected hum.
"Why not go to the service desk and report it lost?" Finnian Lawrence offered what was actually a decent suggestion.
"You’re right!"
"The service desk is ahead to the left, I’ll lead the way."
Finnian Lawrence had rushed back to the country amid the dust and exhaustion, not to treasure hunt at the airport.
By now, Lily Sloan had come to her senses and felt utterly embarrassed.
The three of them reached the service desk, and the airport staff broadcast the lost item information via the sound system.
What followed was a long wait.
Lily felt bad for keeping everyone there, but the project plan was crucial. She racked her brains to come up with a compromise.
"Mr. Lawrence, the project plan needs your signature before we can proceed. Delaying a day means the factory loses a day’s worth of money. Would it be convenient for me to come to you for the signature tomorrow morning?"
Her eyes were brimming with tears, looking pitifully at Finnian Lawrence. Because she had been crying, her voice still had a nasal tone.
Finnian Lawrence couldn’t bring himself to say no, so he nodded and signaled his assistant to leave the Lawrence Family’s address with her.
After this night, everyone was exhausted, and then, the three figures went in two different directions.
Lily Sloan, though a girl working outside, was never once treated poorly by Nora Northwood. Today, she truly understood the hardships of being an employee.
Pressing her lips together, she squatted alone in the corner of the service desk, feeling utterly forlorn.
The ground staff couldn’t bear it, so they brought her a chair, "Miss, have a seat, maybe your bag is already on its way back."
"Thank you for comforting me." Lily forced a smile that looked worse than crying, leaking from her pink-hued lips.
In line with what the ground staff said, within just a few minutes, someone returned Lily Sloan’s bag.
