Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 509: Preparing for Discharge

Chapter 509: Preparing for Discharge

Nora Northwood got up to use the bathroom again in the night because she drank too much water. When she got out of bed, she found that Jasper Sinclair hadn’t left, and was sleeping on the sofa in the hospital room.

The sofa could only seat five people at once, roughly calculating it was only one and a half meters long.

Jasper lay on it, with half of his lower leg dangling outside, truly humbling himself.

He didn’t even have a piece of clothing to cover himself, and Nora thought: asking him to stay here was truly an imposition.

There were other rooms available, but he refused to leave.

After returning from the bathroom, Nora stayed by the sofa for quite a while, watching his chest rise and fall evenly.

Then, she took a spare thin blanket from the cabinet and gently covered Jasper with it, thoughtfully tucking in the corners, as a sort of repayment.

Looking at his sleeping face, Nora suddenly realized she owed him far too much, more than money could resolve.

The idea that paying back the money would settle everything now seemed utterly laughable.

She stood there for a few more seconds before returning to her original spot.

Little did she know, Jasper opened his eyes after she turned away.

He had already woken up the moment she got out of bed.

The next day.

Nora woke up at ten o’clock, not even her unshakeable biological clock could wake her.

The room was well-lit, and she reached under her pillow to draw out her phone.

"While I’m not at the company these few days, handle the small matters, call me for anything big." The name displayed at the top of the chatbox was Yvonne Winslow.

After sending the message, she rolled around on the bed, stretching her arms and legs.

The hospital room door opened from the outside, and when she saw who came in, she was surprised, "Aren’t you going to work today?"

"To be with you." Jasper only said two words, shutting her up.

It turned out he had gone out to prepare breakfast.

"The doctor said your weight is low and you need to supplement your nutrition. The beef brisket has been stewing in the pot for hours, soft and flavorful, try it."

"Who made it?"

"Uncle Kevin, he hasn’t cooked in a long time, not sure if his skills have rusted."

Nora stared attentively at the actions of his fingers, also finding the tempo and tone of his speech very comforting, steady and calm.

...

In the noon of early autumn, the sunlight was still glaring, but the two people in the hospital room were living a life of tranquil days.

Nora felt their interaction resembled a couple in the tranquil phase, not divorced spouses.

But soon, she dismissed that thought.

The change happened on the day she was discharged. She thought everything was going smoothly until another figure appeared in the hospital.

"Brother Jasper, why are you in the hospital? Are you hurt?" Peach Bell’s nervousness was not at all less than the fright of the actual victim.

Nora noticed that the "Sinclair" in her mouth had changed to a more intimate form.

I couldn’t imagine, during the days she was away from the Sinclair Family, their relationship rapidly advanced.

"I’m not injured, this is a public place, don’t make a scene," Jasper’s tone sounded like an elder lecturing a child, not noticing anything inappropriate at all.

Nora couldn’t stand this display of affection and went to handle the discharge procedures herself.

By the time Jasper caught up with her, she had already walked ten meters away.

"Peach is just a kid, don’t take it too seriously with her." Still the same sentence.
