Chapter 507: Taking You Home
Chapter 507: Taking You Home
The surrounding special police have no time to admire their love and hate, still vigilantly watching all directions, preventing the next moment when someone might disrupt the reunion.
Jasper Sinclair stood against the moonlight, his expression also hidden in shadows, making it difficult to see clearly, only a vague outline could be drawn.
"Jasper."
When Nora Northwood spoke, her lips trembled constantly, already unable to utter a complete sentence.
She hasn’t had water for too long, her throat hoarse beyond measure, the words she wanted to say blocked at her mouth, unable to speak even a single word.
Fortunately, there was a wave in her heart.
"I’ll help you untie the ropes, it might hurt a bit, I’ll be as gentle as possible. Dear, don’t speak for now, protect your throat. I will find someone to investigate this matter thoroughly. Let’s go to the hospital for a check-up first, then I’ll take you home; there’s dinner at home. If you agree, just nod your head."
When the last syllable fell, the man half-squatting on the ground lifted his chin, looking up at Nora Northwood, seeing clearly her slight nod.
The hemp rope was untied, scattered on the ground, and on Nora Northwood’s ankles and wrists were multiple abrasions of varying degrees, even her arms were no exception.
The deep bruises fell into Jasper Sinclair’s eyes, he wished he could catch the mastermind right now and return it a thousandfold.
Nora Northwood was held in an embrace, feeling the strong beats of the other’s heart, it was as if she lived once more.
Vincent Morgan watched their departing backs, let out a self-deprecating smile, ever so faint, had one not stood directly in front of him, it might not have been noticed.
His knuckles waved in the air twice, meaning unclear.
"Mr. Morgan, should we go back?" A subordinate reminded him.
On the surface, it’s asking whether to return, but another layer of meaning is reminding him to stop there.
Within a prominent family, Vincent Morgan had countless unavoidable obligations.
Private hospital.
Even wearing an inappropriate coat, Jasper Sinclair’s nobility remained impossible to ignore.
He and Nora Northwood, under the guidance of the nurse, went to a designated ward.
During this, the nurse, several times, wanted to approach and remind Jasper Sinclair that he could place her on the hospital bed, only to be deterred by his strong, fierce aura.
It wasn’t until entering the ward that the young nurse dared to speak: "Mr. Sinclair, we need to conduct a full-body examination on the patient. Please wait outside the ward temporarily."
Having just gone through a catastrophe, Jasper Sinclair certainly dared not let anyone leave under his watch.
He refused, leaving the nurse in a dilemma, prompting her to cast a helpless glance toward Nora Northwood.
Nora Northwood’s back was against the soft mattress, experiencing a different sensation; her eyes drifting uncertainly, she heard the nurse’s hint, and only then did she act anew.
She tugged on Jasper Sinclair’s sleeve, her discolored lips moved slightly, teeth brushing each other, uttering with some difficulty a few syllables: "Wait outside for me."
Nora Northwood watched him leave the ward, said to the nurse: "I would like some water first."
The nurse eagerly poured her a cup of warm water, worried she might have difficulty sitting up, even fetched a straw, attending meticulously, moving touchingly.
Nora Northwood drank more than half a cup in one go, her throat feeling a bit better. She didn’t want to seem too distressed in front of Jasper Sinclair, but unfortunately, things often went opposite to her wishes.
It’s as though the heavens couldn’t hear her prayers and pleas.
"Mr. Sinclair is very worried about you, we will conclude the examination as soon as possible. If there is any discomfort, feel free to communicate with me anytime." Before the examination began, the nurse listed a few precautions.
