Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 493: Twist of Fate

Chapter 493: Twist of Fate

The young nurse is a new intern, a bit intimidated by Jasper Sinclair, fearing he might be insane. She hesitantly replied, "She is a blood donation volunteer and has left after resting well."

Nora Northwood received a last-minute invitation to a perfume evaluation event, inviting her to watch and assess.

When awakened by the notification sound, the room was empty of other people, so she was unaware of Jasper Sinclair’s arrival.

There were several empty taxis parked at the hospital entrance, and Nora picked one nearby to get in.

"South Mountain District, VK." She reported the address. VK is gaining more and more recognition, and no longer requires a long list of street names.

Nowadays, you can pull anyone off the street and they’ll know about VK.

The dusk has settled.

Nora listened to the honking outside the car window, feeling quite uneasy.

She opened the newly received document, suddenly noticing the mechanical watch on her wrist was missing.

This watch was quite expensive, a gift from Lily Sloan, who had saved a month’s salary for it.

She hastily stopped the driver from turning, "Driver, I left something at the hospital, please turn back, I can pay extra."

The first few words made the driver show some reluctance, but upon hearing extra pay, he readily agreed with a smile, "Sure, miss."

Nora’s mind was filled with the lost mechanical watch, completely unaware of the Maybach driving past her side, its body catching the sunset’s afterglow, gradually leaving this honking-filled street.

Her watch was kept by the young nurse, worried about it being taken by dishonest people in the hospital.

"Keep your belongings safe; you won’t get this lucky next time!" The young nurse’s chatter was incessant, unlike the person who was just shivering in fear.

"Thank you."

"By the way, someone just came looking for you."

As the nurse finished talking, Vincent Morgan appeared at the door, "Nora, so you didn’t leave."

Nora naturally assumed Vincent was the one looking for her, based on the nurse’s words.

She walked over and exchanged a few pleasantries, "I was going to leave, but I left something here and came back to find it."

"I just heard from the doctor that you are the blood donation volunteer for the master, turns out you have a rare blood type too."

"You mean Master Elaine?"

Vincent’s grip on the report slightly froze, "Did Jasper..." He stopped halfway through, intuitively guessing there might be some conflict between her and Jasper Sinclair.

Then, he shifted his tone, "Yes, the master. He just rested, will definitely visit another day to express thanks. How are you getting home? Need a ride?"

In the first part, Vincent told a lie out of personal interest. In the latter part, he tried to verify his suspicions.

"No trouble, Mr. Morgan. I appreciate you staying to care for the master. I’ll take a cab home."

Vincent didn’t insist further, "I’ll invite you for a meal in a few days to show gratitude, don’t refuse."

"I certainly won’t. The company has a pressing matter. Take care of the master for me. See you next time."

Through the door glass, light splashed on Nora’s profile, making her appear softer and invitingly approachable.

After she turned around, Vincent stood there for a long time, staring at her departing silhouette, shrinking until it became a small dot the size of a fingernail.

Finally, it disappeared around the stair corner.

The man’s fingertip rubbed against the sharp edge of the examination sheet for a long time, feeling the lingering air.
