Chapter 492: Appearing at the Hospital
Chapter 492: Appearing at the Hospital
Jasper Sinclair’s calm demeanor left Louis Hayes uncertain of the situation, so he could only give up in frustration.
Afterward, he exited the chairman’s office.
The spacious office regained its tranquil state. Jasper Sinclair pulled out his phone from his suit pocket and checked Nora Northwood’s location.
As Louis had mentioned, the red dot on the screen was at a hospital in the city center.
He put down his work and called the executive office to instruct, "Have the driver prepare the car."
In the early autumn afternoon, the sunlight became scarce.
Jasper Sinclair felt the car was stuffy, so he rolled the window all the way down with his fingertip to enjoy the refreshing breeze.
His bangs fluttered messily in the wind, yet it did not affect his elegance in the slightest.
When he arrived at the hospital, an hour had already passed.
Throughout the journey, Jasper kept checking the location every few minutes, afraid that if he was late, she would have left.
His pride wouldn’t allow him to urge the driver, so he resorted to this method.
Fortunately, everything was still in time.
The location only showed that Nora Northwood was on the fourth floor of the inpatient department, so Jasper asked at the triage desk, but the nurse knew nothing.
He thought to himself: The Sinclair Group needs to develop a new healthcare service sector.
The pervasive smell of disinfectant in the corridor gradually made him forget Nora Northwood’s sweet fragrance.
Jasper searched room by room, and finally, near the end of the corridor, he saw Nora Northwood sleeping peacefully.
Seeing that she was alright, the heart he had in his throat relaxed, and his gaze lingered on her incredibly delicate face.
The coldness that had developed between the two had been there for too long, giving a sense of helplessness on where to even begin.
Suddenly, a male voice sounded from behind him.
"Director Sinclair."
Interrupted from his thoughts, Jasper turned around and found a person who looked very familiar standing beside him.
He tried hard to recall, his thin lips moving slightly: "Mr. Morgan."
The Morgan Family and The Sinclair Group had business dealings; Vincent Morgan was still in the transitional stage as the nominal heir, yet to fully take over all the family’s business, and addressing him as Director Sinclair was quite appropriate at this time.
Vincent Morgan continued, "Master Elaine is in the room up ahead; would you like to have a look together?"
Jasper frowned slightly, but, due to his personality, he quickly returned to his usual self.
He replied, "Please, Mr. Morgan, lead the way."
Is it an unfortunate day today? Why is everyone heading to the hospital?
While pondering, his footsteps stopped at the ward’s entrance.
Upon entering, Jasper halted at an appropriate distance, kindly asking, "Aunt Hutchinson, are you feeling unwell recently?"
He was truly concerned about Elaine.
Elaine was surprised by his visit, "It’s just an old issue acting up again; it’s nothing major. Vincent has been busy taking care of things at the hospital, and he somehow involved you as well."
Elaine had no children, and most of her life care was managed by Vincent.
A few years ago, Yuna Hughes used to be by her side to make her happy, but sadly, their master-disciple relationship had ended.
Jasper Sinclair chatted with Elaine for quite some time until his mouth was dry, then he brought up leaving, not forgetting that there was someone else in another ward still waiting for him.
Strictly speaking, the word "waiting" might not be accurate; it was more that he couldn’t let go.
When Jasper returned, he found the ward empty, the bed sheets neat without a trace of wrinkles, as if no one had ever been there.
A nurse happened to pass by, and in a moment of losing his composure, he grabbed her wrist, asking, "Where did the patient from this room go?"
