Chapter 452: Drink Till We Drop
Chapter 452: Drink Till We Drop
Before heading out, Annie thought Nora Northwood’s makeup was too understated, so she changed it to smoky eyes and joked, "Won’t Mr. Sinclair think I’m a bad influence on you?"
Nora smiled, the curve of her lips mirroring the crescent moon in the sky, but she didn’t speak.
The four girls gathered at the bar, making a bright and beautiful sight.
Annie asked, "Want to go to the dance floor?"
Seeing Nora’s distracted look, she guessed that Nora was preoccupied with concerns, so she wanted to find something to distract her.
A group of young men and women swayed in the dance floor, proud of their movements, dancing to the music.
Nora felt a bit dizzy, her body seemingly out of her control. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a tall and straight figure that she was about to focus on, but the person had already vanished down the corridor.
She thought it must be an illusion; how could Jasper Sinclair appear in such a place?
...
When the server led Jasper Sinclair to the private room, several old friends were already playing cards.
The sound system blared deafening music, drowning out everyone’s conversations and jokes.
"Eldest Young Master Sinclair, you’ve finally graced us with your presence." The speaker had a roguish air, approaching to drape an arm over him and led him to the sofa.
"Rhys Linden, is this what you call relaxing?"
Rhys Linden, one of his childhood friends, grew up in a military and political compound, the youngest son of the Linden Family. The family had high hopes for him and kept him in line strictly, making him a bit rebellious over time. However, he dared not defy the family in major matters.
Occasionally having a drink at the bar was one of his ways to relieve emotions.
"Jasper, the bar I invested in is doing quite well," Rhys said proudly.
"Not bad."
DP was considered one of Stanton City’s top bars, with quiet private rooms and a lively dance floor, attracting many influential figures with this dual atmosphere.
Rhys added, "Let me take you around outside, Jasper."
This time, others were not willing, "Jasper finally came to our gathering, you can’t let him leave without having a few drinks!"
Having been friends since childhood and calling him "Jasper" all the time, Jasper Sinclair didn’t want to dampen the mood, so he went along and drank two glasses of cold beer.
Afterwards, Rhys took him out for a walk, talking non-stop about how great everything was here.
Understanding his playful nature, Jasper simply said a few more words, "The place is nice, how much of a stake do you have?"
"Fifty-one, I’m the largest shareholder here."
"Does Mr. Linden know?"
"I wouldn’t dare to let him know, he’d break my leg!" Rhys said, feigning fear by exaggerating his expression, "Jasper, you’re not going to report me to the old man, are you?"
"Manage it well, who knows, maybe I’ll need your venue for business in the future."
"Got it, Jasper!"
Rhys acted like a sycophant.
Looking down from the second floor, Jasper Sinclair saw someone all too familiar.
Nora Northwood was shoulder to shoulder with Yvonne Winslow by the bar, surrounded by empty bottles and cans, still swirling a glass of pink rum in her hand.
Her eyes glinted silver, lashes long and curled. Just sitting there, she exuded an irresistible charm.
The light played tricks, masking her youthfulness, making her appear more seductive and noble. The same could be said for Yvonne, sitting beside her.
"Jasper, what are you looking at?"
Rhys followed Jasper Sinclair’s gaze to see a short-haired girl tilting her head to drink, the creamy liqueur trickling from her lips, sliding down her neck.
