Chapter 388: Have a Few More Bowls

Chapter 388: Have a Few More Bowls

"Tell the kitchen staff to keep the food light in the coming days," Jasper Sinclair followed Uncle Kevin’s steps, heading towards the restaurant, not forgetting to remind him at every turn.

"Understood, tonight’s main dish is Four Seasons Porridge."

Before long, Nora Northwood’s figure appeared in the restaurant too. She had changed from her pajamas into clean yet elegant loungewear.

Uncle Kevin served at the dining table, ladling each of them a bowl of specially brewed "supplementary soup," and mentioned pointedly, "This soup has been simmering for ten hours, with all the essence concentrated in it."

The rich aroma infused into the food, providing an ultimate pleasurable taste experience, made Nora squint her eyes in delight.

Seeing her finish the first bowl, Uncle Kevin hurriedly filled the second.

After finishing the second bowl, she curiously asked, "Uncle Kevin, what’s this soup?"

"Cistanche and Coconut Soup," Uncle Kevin answered seriously, showing none of the glee he felt when preparing the soup.

Upon hearing its name, Nora was caught off guard.

As a perfumer, she naturally knew the effects of Cistanche. At this moment, her face was buried in the bowl, thinking: I’ve embarrassed myself to the highest degree.

Uncle Kevin wanted to add a third bowl for Nora, but she waved her hand repeatedly, saying, "No more, if I drink any more, I’ll be stuffed."

No one saw it, but under the hair covering her earlobes, a deep red had already spread.

At this point, Jasper said, "Eat a little more; I’ll take you somewhere afterwards."

The evening had come, and Nora didn’t know what interesting entertainment facilities could be available at this hour.

Having spent the entire day sleeping, thinking she might find herself insomniac again at night, she agreed without asking much else.

Afterwards, Jasper spoke to Uncle Kevin, "I probably won’t be staying here tonight."

"Do you need me to arrange a hotel in advance for you?"

"No need for now."

That evening, Jasper took Nora to a distant place, driving the car directly out of Stanton City.

They escaped the city’s noise, spotting dozens of freelance cyclists along the roadside.

Nora noticed increasingly more stars, quite unlike the night sky she saw in the city.

The air was filled with a strange scent, to be precise, a bit foul.

As they were about to reach their destination, she asked, "You’re not going to sell me in the hills and let Peach Bell take over, are you?"

The driver sitting in front paused in turning the steering wheel, thinking: Our lady must have watched too many idol dramas to have such vivid imagination.

Jasper replied, "Nora, I wouldn’t mind throwing you out here."

"I knew you were up to no good," Nora muttered, curling her body towards the back of the seat, crossing her arms as if someone was bullying her.

The street under the car wheels had transformed from a highway into dirt road, causing increasingly intense bumps.

"Ugh—"

Nora couldn’t hold back and began dry heaving.

The person beside her immediately worried, "Feeling a bit carsick? Let’s stop and rest on the roadside for a bit."

"Ugh—"

Luckily, it was just dry heaving, with no vomit.

Nora put down the window on her side, allowing fresh air to circulate in the enclosed space, slightly easing the discomfort in her abdomen.

At this moment, her facial features were all furrowed together.

Jasper opened the Arctic Ice Mountain Water kept in the car, supposedly unavailable even for a hundred dollars a bottle.
