Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 386: Returning Home

Chapter 386: Returning Home

With Nora Northwood’s arrival, the atmosphere of the luncheon gradually warmed up.

Looking around, there weren’t many people in the room. If you counted them on your fingers, there were just thirteen.

The design director of Galante, the head of the Vermilion Region, the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine...every single one of them was a notable figure in the industry.

Megan Underwood, too, is a pioneer in the aromatherapy field.

In comparison, Nora Northwood seemed to be the least significant one, but backed by the Sinclair Family, her status was instantly elevated from last to first.

This luncheon didn’t end until one in the afternoon.

By the latter half, Nora Northwood grew uninterested, so much so that she couldn’t even be bothered to pick up her chopsticks—a table full of dishes had long gone cold.

Of course, everyone knew that the primary purpose of the meal wasn’t to fill stomachs; everyone had their own agendas.

The brand manager pondered when they could make a connection with The Sinclair Group, the magazine editor thought about which page to reserve for VK, and Nora Northwood considered how to come up with a reasonable excuse to leave...

Ultimately, it was Gregory Nash who suggested everyone wrap it up.

Nora Northwood felt like she was granted an imperial pardon, exchanged a few parting words, and swiftly made her exit.

Uncle Kevin took the liberty of bringing her back to the manor’s villa.

Nora Northwood was groggy and didn’t mind too much, she just wanted to find a place to sleep.

For nearly a month, she hadn’t had a proper sleep, especially with the domestic and international time differences pushing her to the edge of a mental breakdown.

Returning to the master bedroom, she didn’t even have time to remove her makeup before she fell asleep.

Outside the window.

Thick clouds covered the sky.

In her sleep, Nora Northwood constantly felt like there were cat paws scratching at her face, unbearably ticklish. She drowsily swatted at it, "Potato, stop it."

The person helping her remove makeup immediately frowned.

Though Jasper Sinclair couldn’t hear clearly whose name Nora Northwood called, he was sure it wasn’t his!

"Nora Northwood! Open your eyes and see who I am!"

Ignoring everything else, he directly woke Nora Northwood up.

Still bleary-eyed, she looked up hesitantly and then, with an incredulous expression, touched Jasper Sinclair’s eyes.

After a brief silence, she realized the person in front of her was indeed real.

"You came back early?"

"Whose name did you just call?" The man asked evasively.

Nora Northwood was confused, not understanding what he was talking about, as a splitting headache came over her, causing her to wrinkle her brow involuntarily.

This expression, in Jasper Sinclair’s eyes, was undoubtedly an avoidance, and he forced them to make eye contact, saying word by word, "You’re not answering my question."

"You’re being ridiculous."

Feeling unjustly accused, Jasper Sinclair immediately placed his hand on Nora Northwood’s waist, kneading and pulling repeatedly.

His palm was large, each knuckle exerting a skillful teasing pressure.

"It tickles, let go of me, don’t..."

What Nora Northwood intended to say was completely blocked by his mouth.

In the midst of a heated kiss, Jasper Sinclair said, "I’ve been compressing my schedule, trying to get back to see you as soon as possible."

He carried a weary traveler’s aura and a chill and dampness that didn’t belong to this city, with only his lips being warm.

He kissed Nora Northwood’s earlobe again, his hand at her waist had already changed position, supporting her neck and lifting her head slightly.

"Was it you who asked Uncle Kevin to bring me back here?"

"Stay at the manor, it’s now in your name, and any day you’re unhappy, you can kick me out. From now on, this is also your home."
