Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 376: The Meaning of Lily of the Valley

Chapter 376: The Meaning of Lily of the Valley

Seven o’clock sharp.

Nora Northwood, wearing the hotel’s disposable slippers, jogged to the lobby.

Though her frustration hadn’t completely faded, the overwhelming fever and the feeling of being in a foreign land made her unconsciously rely on Jasper Sinclair.

This night, she could briefly forget their past unpleasantness.

Amidst her pounding heart, the upright figure of a man broke into her view.

Rushing as well, Jasper Sinclair managed to maintain his elegance at all times.

In the crook of his arm, he held a bouquet of fresh flowers.

"I passed by a flower shop on the way back and thought you’d like it."

The Lily of the Valley extended freely over the oval leaves, the buds lush and full, protected by layers of paper, finally resting in the bend of Nora’s arm.

The meaning of Lily of the Valley is the return of happiness.

"I like it."

"Do you like the flowers or the person?"

Nora’s gaze moved from Jasper Sinclair’s face, landing on the petals, "I like the person who gives me flowers."

Under the crystal chandelier, the Lily of the Valley appeared even more delicate and alluring, its fragrance overwhelming.

Louis Hayes, seeing the atmosphere to be quite warm, intentionally chimed in, "The boss heard you hadn’t eaten dinner and left a group of executives at the banquet to sneak out alone."

As Jasper Sinclair’s special assistant, how could Louis not notice the subtle relationship between the two?

When the boss is unhappy, the subordinates suffer. He hoped his few kind words could speed up their reconciliation.

Jasper thought to himself slyly: A raise! He needed to give Louis a raise!

"Didn’t cause you any trouble, did I?"

Nora came to her senses, feeling that she was being inconsiderate this time, knowing full well how busy work kept him, yet wanting to be indulgent for a night.

"No trouble at all, it was just an ordinary dinner party, and I wasn’t sure what excuse to use to leave."

Jasper Sinclair’s answer made Nora quietly breathe a sigh of relief. The next second, her stomach embarrassingly growled.

Inopportune, very inopportune.

She heard a soft laugh above her head, followed by a clean, deep voice: "Someone recommended a restaurant. Let’s give it a try."

"I’m still wearing the hotel’s shoes."

Her smooth heel was exposed, unable to withstand the cold.

"There’s heating in the car."

With that, Jasper directly scooped her into the car.

"All the plans in France will wrap up by four in the afternoon tomorrow. We’ll fly directly to Melbourne."

After a moment of silence, Nora brought up a slightly unpleasant topic: "Is Peach Bell in Melbourne?"

"She is, but she won’t affect you."

If she’s there, she’s affecting me... Nora thought but didn’t say it out loud.

"When can we return home?"

"In about a week. I need to sort out my father’s belongings first. I might introduce you to my third uncle; you haven’t met his family yet."

As they chatted, the car stopped at the entrance of a winery.

They got out, needing to transfer to the winery’s vehicle to reach the actual restaurant.

Nora didn’t want to be stared at under everyone’s gaze, so she spoke up to stop Jasper’s movements: "I’ll walk by myself, no need to carry me."

Knowing her shyness, Jasper naturally respected her wishes.

The sole of the slipper was thin, a bit uncomfortable on the gravel path, but luckily, they didn’t have to walk far.

The tram had been waiting in advance and drove for ten minutes along a flower-covered path.
