Chapter 324: Trapped in the Restroom
Chapter 324: Trapped in the Restroom
Jade Lockwood had an air of defiance, but her actions still betrayed the deep-seated fear within her.
After her bravado, she left with her girlfriends.
Nora Northwood thought things were over here, but just as she was about to leave, she found the restroom door wouldn’t open.
Her heart skipped a beat; she tried several times, all to no avail.
The only possibility: Jade Lockwood had locked the restroom door from outside.
Nora let out a long breath, feeling utterly helpless.
The only hope now was for someone to come in from outside and discover her trapped here.
However, Nora didn’t know that a "Under Maintenance" sign had been placed at the restroom entrance.
She opened her phone, planning to call for help, but alas, the hotel’s restroom had instruments blocking signals; nothing could be sent out.
Nora frustratingly scratched her head, her already messy hair tangled even more.
Truth be told, Jade Lockwood’s appearance wasn’t much better. When the two had been fighting earlier, she had pulled out several strands of Jade’s hair.
Ten minutes passed.
Nora couldn’t wait any longer; she began pounding on the door, "Is anyone there? Is there anyone outside?"
She was answered by silence.
An hour passed, Nora felt increasingly cold, she avoided the vent and curled up in a corner.
The phone still had no signal; she didn’t know how much longer she would be trapped here.
In the confined space, only the sound of her breathing remained, urgent and uneasy.
At eleven o’clock, part of the hotel’s area turned off the lights.
The restroom’s lights went out suddenly, "Ah——" Nora screamed in fright.
She hurriedly turned on the flashlight to illuminate her area.
"Help, can someone open the door!"
At this moment, pride forgotten, Nora only wished to escape this dreadful place quickly.
An empty space echoed with her responses, making it seem even more ethereal.
Just when she was drowsy, she heard footsteps outside.
Nora perked up, rushed to the door, "Is anyone outside?"
Unfortunately, she had little strength left, and the sound she made was not loud.
The footsteps grew more distant, Nora fell into complete despair.
She wrapped her arms around her shoulders, started sobbing softly, and suddenly, "Bang——" the door was kicked open from the outside.
The wooden door hit the ground, shaking the entire floor.
"Nora."
Jasper Sinclair’s face showed a trace of panic; seeing the person covering her ears in the corner, his heart ached.
He rushed over and embraced her, apologizing with guilt, "I’m sorry, Nora, it’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have let you come alone."
Finally seeing a familiar face, Nora buried her head in Jasper Sinclair’s chest, beginning to cry.
No matter how strong she was, she was still a twenty-something girl, trapped for hours, her final emotional defenses had long collapsed.
The crying got quieter towards the end, eventually turning to soft sobbing, "Jasper, I was really scared."
Her voice was trembling, shoulders shuddering, looking pitiful beyond words.
"No more fear, I will protect you, let’s go home now."
"I thought no one would find me."
"How could that be, darling, I promise you, this situation won’t happen again."
Then, Jasper Sinclair took off his jacket and draped it over her.
