Chapter 314: Rescue Successful
Chapter 314: Rescue Successful
Just as Jasper Sinclair was ready to investigate the employee files, news arrived from the hospital that someone was willing to donate blood.
Grandma Sinclair reacted faster than Jasper, "We are willing to offer a generous reward."
Soon, the warm blood bags were delivered to the emergency room.
A crowd of medical staff busied and hurried inside and outside, the surgery resumed.
Jasper stood upright at the doorway, his eyes never left that door for a moment.
"Mom, I’ll have the driver take you home to rest, it’s enough that Jasper and I are here with you."
Raina Sinclair worried about her elderly mother’s ability to endure and wanted to send her away.
Already one person has collapsed, there can’t be a second, especially since the old lady’s heart has always been fragile.
If the result of the surgery is unsatisfactory...
Grandma Sinclair’s powerful voice interrupted her reverie, "I’m not going back, I’m going to wait here. How can a person fall down just like that?"
The elderly lady was unwilling to believe that just a moment ago her granddaughter-in-law was dining with her, and now she was lying on a cold bed.
Jasper turned, struggling to maintain his composure, forcefully squeezing out a few words, "Grandma, we don’t know how long the surgery will take. You should go home first, and I’ll inform you immediately of any news. Don’t let Nora and me worry, okay?"
Grandma Sinclair, who raised her grandson, saw him show this level of grief in his eyes for the first time, chose to return to the old house, not wanting to trouble them further.
Thus, the doorway to the emergency room was left to just the aunt and nephew.
The wait lasted a whole night.
When Nora Northwood was wheeled out, she was still in a state of coma; fortunately, she was out of danger.
"The patient needs quiet rest now and will wake up in two to three days. Someone needs to handle the hospital admission." The chief surgeon’s tone was also filled with exhaustion.
This night drained all energy from everyone.
Then, Nora was transferred to a regular ward, with her neck wrapped in thick gauze, her face expressionless, like a sleeping beauty in a fairy tale waiting for the prince’s kiss.
Her hand was pierced with numerous needles, pumping in nutrients, and the electronic device above showed her heartbeat was normal.
Jasper stayed in the ward with Nora, muttering constantly under his breath.
"Nora, I’m such a bastard for not protecting you."" When you wake up, I promise I’ll never forget what I promised you."" The surprise I prepared for you, you haven’t even received it yet."
Though his voice wasn’t loud, it sounded heart-wrenching, repeatedly calling Nora’s name, as if this could pull her back from the brink of death.
After a tense twenty hours, Jasper finally couldn’t help but fall asleep at the bedside.
...
The afternoon sunlight broke through the glass window, shining on Jasper’s profile, awakening him.
For a moment, he wished he could keep his eyes closed forever, at least then he wouldn’t have to face the reality of Nora’s accident.
And he was the instigator of all this.
Raina Sinclair stood outside the ward, observing the situation inside through a transparent glass window.
In the closed room, Jasper’s solitary figure outlined all the scenes.
She sighed, knocked on the door and walked in, carrying the rice porridge bought from the hospital, kindly advising, "Jasper, eat something, you can’t go on like this."
