Chapter 298: Offering a Job
Chapter 298: Offering a Job
Nora Northwood contacted Liam Jacobs privately and said straight to the point, "I heard from the photography crew that you’re currently unemployed. My studio happens to have a job opening. Would you consider it?"
Liam Jacobs does indeed need a job, but... Rachel Woodward’s target for him is The Sinclair Group.
He pondered for a moment, thinking that approaching Jasper Sinclair shouldn’t be rushed.
So, he agreed to Nora’s offer.
"Thank you, Miss Northwood, for offering this job. I can start tomorrow."
The matter was settled.
Nora had him work alongside Yvonne Winslow, assisting with the shooting and post-production, while managing the social media accounts.
Coincidentally, this matched well with Liam’s field of study.
Just as Nora was wholly focused on her work, Jasper Sinclair finally returned from his business trip.
On this day, Nora got off work.
From afar, she spotted a sleek black Maybach parked right at the entrance of the mall.
The car’s body gleamed under the sunlight, exuding a sense of luxury.
Jasper Sinclair leaned against the car door and stood up straight upon seeing Nora.
He walked toward Nora, his tall and slender figure moving with a steady rhythm, each step seemingly touching one’s heart.
"Honey, you haven’t talked to me for days." Jasper opened his mouth, revealing a sense of grievance.
Nora didn’t look at him, instead, she focused her gaze on the car’s body beside them.
The reflective car surface mirrored Nora’s expression, which looked rather unpleasant.
Her usually gentle face turned icy cold at this moment, "Reply to the messages you sent me while you were busy flirting with another woman?"
"There might be some misunderstandings, Nora. Let’s go home and talk. I promise I’ll give you a satisfactory explanation."
Jasper, seeing soft measures weren’t effective, had to resort to firmness.
Regardless of Nora’s willingness, he directly placed her into the passenger seat.
Within the enclosed space, Jasper kept trying to find topics.
"Have you been eating your meals on time lately?"
"I think your face looks thinner."
"..."
Nora’s heart remained unsettled; her responses to his words varied between "Hmm," "Oh," and at most, "I know."
The already cold weather seemed to drop a few degrees.
This tense atmosphere persisted until they returned to Southwood Court.
Jasper placed neatly organized documents in front of Nora.
"This is the project I’m coordinating with Diana Kidd; it’s a new commercial real estate development under progress. This business trip was due to someone in Linwood City trying to take over the project."
He explained things to her thoroughly; as for being in Diana’s room that night, it was merely for optimizing the project plan.
Jasper planned to entrust this real estate project to Nora, to establish a high-end brand company, hence why he was giving it special attention and personally handling everything.
Of course, he hadn’t disclosed these plans.
He intended to present it as a surprise to Nora on New Year’s Eve.
Nora still had unresolved concerns, "Why didn’t you tell me sooner that you were on a business trip with Diana Kidd?"
"Things happened rather suddenly, and I was worried that explaining might be difficult."
"We’ve been married for almost a year, and I’ve never interfered with your work. If you had explained, I wouldn’t have acted impulsively."
Her curled eyelashes resembled a butterfly’s wings, as her eyes seriously stared at Jasper.
After a brief pause, she continued, "You promised me things you haven’t fulfilled this time. How am I supposed to trust you in the future?"
