Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 297: Disheartened and Disillusioned

Chapter 297: Disheartened and Disillusioned

"We are discussing business." For a moment, Jasper Sinclair didn’t know how to explain.

He spoke the truth, yet was misunderstood by others.

In reality, Nora Northwood was upset not just for this reason; she continued to voice her displeasure: "You clearly know I don’t like her, and you promised to stay away from her, but on the first day of the new year, you left me alone at home, went to her room, and lied to me saying you were on a business trip."

Her voice was loud enough for the people around to hear.

Some were watching the drama unfold and whispered, "Leaving such a beautiful wife and still fooling around, men these days really don’t know what’s good for them."

...

As they reached an impasse, the announcement chimed: "G2902 is about to stop boarding."

With a cold heart, Nora grabbed her ID from Jasper Sinclair’s hand and walked away.

The man lowered his lashes slightly, paused for a moment, then ran after her, but was stopped at the gate for not having a ticket.

There were still some details in the project plan that needed addressing, so he couldn’t leave for Stanton City yet.

Nora’s figure completely disappeared around the corner.

Jasper rubbed his forehead helplessly and made a call to the driver: "Madam will arrive at Stanton City high-speed rail station in half an hour, make sure she gets back to Southwood Court safely."

His voice sounded a bit hoarse.

The day after New Year’s Day.

Nora woke up alone on the soft bed, her eyes still swollen.

She drew the curtains, and the warm light suddenly burst in.

The sky was a pale white, dotted with a few fluffy clouds drifting aimlessly, unable to find a place to land.

Entranced by the view, Nora felt her situation was no different from theirs.

She thought that upon waking, she would see the hot milk Jasper had prepared for her.

But reality proved that the dream she’d held onto all along was shattered.

After that night, the two were apart for several consecutive days.

Jasper sent a few messages but still received no reply, planning to personally explain once his work was settled.

The matter was postponed repeatedly, and Nora’s mood remained low for several days.

With the end of the New Year holiday, everything returned to normal.

Tomorrow was the day for shooting the promotional film, and to ensure

Lily Sloan, worried about her health, called to ask, "If you’re not feeling well, the filming can be rescheduled."

Nora insisted, "I’ve been resting at home for a while, I’m not as fragile as you think."

Her tone still carried a hint of fatigue.

The following morning.

Nora was the first to arrive at VK, and the photography crew arrived one by one.

Before filming, she touched up her makeup.

"Director, we can start now."

As soon as the camera focused on Nora, she curved her lips into a perfectly appropriate smile.

This filming session went especially smoothly.

They nearly captured every part of VK, as well as Nora’s earnest expression while making perfume.

Upon finishing the shoot, she realized that Liam Jacobs, who once saved her, hadn’t appeared. So, she asked other staff members, "Does Mr. Jacobs have another shoot today?"

The person she found was a gossip-loving young girl, who whispered to her: "Rumor has it he was too blunt and clashed with the boss’s relative, so he got fired by the company!"

Hearing this, Nora maintained her impeccable expression.

"Thank you, I got it."

She carefully recalled Liam’s character and couldn’t help but remember the time he clashed with Jasper.

Indeed, someone straightforward... easily offends people.
