Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 280: Not Wanting to Keep the Cold War Going

Chapter 280: Not Wanting to Keep the Cold War Going

All morning, Nora Northwood’s mind was on that Chanel lipstick.

She had come up with no less than eight hundred excuses for Jasper Sinclair and finally decided to end the cold war and listen to the man’s explanation in person.

During lunch break, Nora contacted a ride-sharing driver and headed to The Sinclair Group alone.

This time, no one stopped her to ask for her identity.

She took the president’s exclusive elevator, heading straight to the seventeenth floor, and coincidentally, she came face to face with the woman from that day.

The woman had just come out of the president’s office, her collar slightly wrinkled, the top two buttons undone, and the lipstick at the corner of her mouth smudged, as if... just finishing a secret rendezvous.

This realization made something in Nora’s mind explode with a "bang."

She halted her steps, momentarily at a loss for what action to take.

Evidently, the woman saw her too.

It was unclear how much time passed before Nora gradually came to her senses and turned to leave the seventeenth floor.

On the way, Louis Hayes noticed her silhouette and greeted her, "Mrs. Sinclair."

However, Nora was in a daze and didn’t hear him at all.

When Louis saw Jasper Sinclair, he mentioned, "I just saw Mrs. Sinclair, and she didn’t seem quite herself."

He thought he was providing useful information to the president.

Unexpectedly, Jasper’s tone suddenly heightened, "Where did you see her?"

Louis was taken aback, "By the elevator entrance."

"Handle this real estate project, and we’ll connect later." Leaving these words, Jasper hurried out.

Only then did Louis realize, it was likely a quarrel between the couple.

By the time Jasper came out, Nora’s figure had already disappeared from the building.

Even though they didn’t meet, it somewhat lifted his mood.

Jasper assumed Nora was seeking reconciliation, and he had new plans in mind.

At sunset.

The sky was divided between pigeon-belly white and orange-red, as if existing in two paradises.

Jasper had just ended a video conference and closed his dry eyes, ready to return to Southwood Court as soon as possible.

To ease the cold war of recent days, he personally prepared a candlelight dinner.

The candles were set, yet there was no sign of Nora returning home.

Jasper dialed her number repeatedly, but no one answered.

On the last call, it was directly hung up by Nora.

He calmly extinguished the candles, intending to explain when she returned.

In the meantime, he reviewed several project documents.

At nine o’clock, the door remained unopened, and Jasper’s mood grew increasingly irritable.

He turned on his phone location and found that Nora had turned off the sharing.

Of course, that wouldn’t stop him.

Jasper restarted the computer, fiddled for a few minutes, and Nora’s location reappeared on the screen.

He zoomed in continuously, discovering that Nora was currently at a bar.

This time, he couldn’t sit still.

Twenty minutes later.

The tall, slender figure of the man appeared at the bar, weaving through the noisy crowd.

His graceful steps betrayed a hint of impatience and unease as he ignored people trying to chat him up, searching for Nora’s figure.

Finally, in a crowded area of men and women, he spotted Nora sitting in the middle.

Immediately, Jasper quickened his steps, and upon getting closer, he pulled Nora out directly.

His strength was too rough, causing Nora’s knee to hit the coffee table, and instinctively, she curled up.

"Jasper Sinclair, what are you doing?"
