Chapter 264: Jealousy
Chapter 264: Jealousy
The Pantheon Plaza, top floor.
A few men gathered around the coffee table, each exuding an extraordinary presence, truly the elite of Stanton City.
A series of laughs echoed, someone teased Jasper Sinclair, saying, "Your wife is calling to check on you."
"I wonder if Jasper will become one of those husbands strictly governed by his wife in the future."
Listening to the jokes, Jasper not only didn’t refute but seemed to enjoy it a lot.
"Once you guys get married, you’ll know the benefits of having a wife." His expression was filled with pleasure.
Everyone: "..."
Sometimes silence says more than words.
"Some photos of your wife at the competition were promoted on Weibo. I see many people calling her the Muse of perfumery. Jasper, you better watch out, don’t let someone else take interest in your wife."
The one who said this was Lawyer Shepherd, the only close friend of Nora Northwood within the circle.
Jasper feigned indifference, "My wife spends her time on me apart from perfuming. Online words are just illusions."
Though he said so, he silently took note in his heart.
Who is coveting my wife? Who?
Someone with no mischief in them continued to tease, "Do you guys think some fans will visit the store to buy incense because of her fame?"
...
As evening approached, the orange-red sunset painted the entire sky.
Nora Northwood was introducing incense in the store when Jasper Sinclair, dressed in a suit and tie, arrived.
Once the customers left, she moved closer and asked, "Why are you off work so early today?"
Jasper embraced her without hesitation, his voice lazy, "I wanted to pick you up to go home together."
A handsome man and a beautiful woman, they were indeed a stunning sight.
Seeing customers looking over, Nora embarrassedly pulled him into an inner office, saying coyly, "There are so many people watching outside."
"I’m hugging my wife, they can watch if they want." Jasper’s smile spread, as if declaring his territory.
After work.
Jasper personally drove and took Nora to a Western restaurant suitable for couples.
The candlelight flickered, music flowed.
Jasper handed Nora a piece of steak he had cut first, "Try and see how it tastes?"
Before Nora could take a bite from the fork, she praised, "The steak you cut must be delicious."
Watching her chew carefully, her cheeks were adorably puffed.
"You really have a sweet mouth."
A delicious meal eased Nora’s near entire day’s fatigue.
The waiter timely opened a bottle of red wine for them, the king of expensive wines, Petrus.
Nora sipped slowly, yet unknowingly had consumed more than half a glass.
Her fair face visibly reddened, and eventually, she was somewhat tipsy.
"Jasper, I think I see two of you." The intoxication made her mind a little jumbled.
Jasper contemplated that this bottle should have been opened at home.
Since both had been drinking, they could only hire a driver to take them back to Southwood Court.
Between the two, there seemed to be a touch of romance.
Jasper originally wanted to make Nora drink some sobering tea before sleeping but didn’t expect that when he finished brewing, she was already asleep.
Worried she’d have a headache in the morning, he decided to wake her, "Honey, drink some water before you sleep."
"Hate it, don’t disturb me."
Nora’s soft voice sounded, and her arm swung around; if Jasper hadn’t dodged quickly, he might have been hit.
