Chapter 263: Henpecked Husband

Chapter 263: Henpecked Husband

Exiting the competition venue, Jasper Sinclair took advantage of the sparse crowd to chat with Elaine for a few more moments, "Is there any progress regarding your daughter?"

When this topic was mentioned, Elaine’s expression grew much heavier.

She paused, "There haven’t been any new updates for now."

"No news is the best news; perhaps her life is pretty good at the moment."

Elaine suddenly looked at Nora Northwood, "If my daughter were still here, she’d be almost the same age as your wife."

"If you don’t mind, Master, I can also be as dutiful to you as your daughter would have been." Nora said, a charming dimple appearing at the corner of her mouth.

"Having you two saying such things is enough, Nora. Best of luck in the semifinals; I hope to see you in the international competition."

Jasper had intended to give Elaine a ride home, but she mentioned other matters to attend to, and it was left at that.

That night, Nora lay in bed, tossing and turning, frequently glancing at the moon outside the window, wide awake.

Jasper noticed her eyes, big as almonds, and asked, "Can’t fall asleep?"

Hearing the person beside her was awake too, Nora turned with some excitement, "I won first place in today’s competition, so I’m a bit thrilled."

"You’ll win more first places in the future; look how happy you are." As he spoke, Jasper tapped her nose.

One could fully sense how genuinely passionate she was about the perfumery profession.

"Jasper, when did you become so articulate?"

"Thanks to my wife’s excellent teaching."

Nora leaned forward and lightly brushed her lips on his chin like a dragonfly touching water.

Her fragrance instantly invaded Jasper’s senses.

Before Nora could retake her previous position, a broad hand had already encircled her waist.

Jasper pressed against her lips, slowly grinding, tender and entwining, until her body completely relaxed.

"Nora, you initiated it."

"I won’t dare next time, darling."

Her calling him darling caused a glimmer of moisture in Jasper’s eyes.

...

The next day, when Nora woke up, the sun was high in the sky.

While she was asleep, the title "The Perfumery Muse" had quietly climbed the trending list on Weibo.

Perfumer renowned throughout Riviera for their skills are countless.

Yet in The Perfumery Circle, the number of individuals like Nora, with ethereal qualities and keen scent sense, is few.

However, this preliminary competition wasn’t the main focus.

The crucial point is the semifinals in half a month, and the final path leading to the international event.

In less than twelve hours, Nora’s name had become a hot topic across the perfumery circle.

The relevant person was drowsily looking at the sticky note Jasper had left her.

"The alarm is off; sleep a bit more. Breakfast is in the kitchen, don’t forget to eat. Call if you miss me."

Having read these lines, Nora’s mouth formed a peaceful smile. During brushing her teeth, she dialed Jasper’s number.

"Jasper, I’m awake." She said while squeezing toothpaste.

Likely due to having just woken up, Nora’s tone carried a soft raspy quality, sounding more like she was being coquettish.

The person on the other end slightly loosened his tie upon hearing this, asking, "Did you sleep well?"

"I did. Why didn’t you wake me up this morning?"

"You went to bed late last night; I wanted you to sleep in a bit."

The two chatted briefly on the phone before Nora heard noises suggesting Jasper was occupied with work, so she ended the call.
