Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind

Chapter 128 - 107: Mutual Lessons with Senior Sister

Chapter 128 - 107: Mutual Lessons with Senior Sister

You Su still managed to get out of bed. First, relying on his divine sense and thin eyesight, he reopened the closed door, wishing he could make the window even brighter.

After doing all this, he sat on a wooden chair, facing the serene Fairy Wangshu.

This reminded You Su of his time in the Mandarin Duck Sword Sect, where Ji Lingruo, like him, sat alone with his junior sister in his simple room to give lessons.

At first, he kept the doors and windows wide open to avoid suspicion, even though he knew no one would see, seeking a clear conscience. Until that month before parting, the lessons with his junior sister had progressed to a stage where it felt inappropriate to proceed without closing all the doors and windows tightly.

He thought of this, and instinctively glanced at the senior sister waiting for him to start the lecture. Although his vision was unclear, her mysterious and beautiful appearance was still vividly recalled.

You Su shook his head, wanting to ignore this strong sense of déjà vu. His teaching with his senior sister was surely proper and wouldn’t gradually turn into what it was with his junior sister.

"Senior sister, is there no one else on Lotus Peak?"

Fairy Wangshu shook her head, responding, "It’s always been just me and the master."

"Then who usually teaches you your coursework?"

"Always Master, or I read on my own. Eight years ago after Master left, occasionally other great elders would come to guide me."

You Su nodded, considering Master’s performance over the past eight years, understanding her disciple’s lack of comprehension in some concepts and behaviors. He asked again:

"Then you’ve always stayed on the peak?"

"Since I was brought to Divine Mountain at birth, it’s basically always been like this," Fairy Wangshu answered honestly, her tone still calm, as if she was accustomed to it.

You Su felt that this indeed matched his speculation closely, Senior Sister Wangshu’s growth experience and environment was nearly a blank slate.

"Then do you have friends?" You Su asked again.

This question, however, was the first to leave Fairy Wangshu temporarily speechless. She remained silent, her blue eyes also dimmed somewhat.

You Su, sensitive in thought, realized he must have asked the wrong question, which led his always responsive senior sister to fall silent. He cursed himself inwardly, thinking how he could fix this, but Fairy Wangshu raised her eyes again, staring at You Su intently, saying:

"I have no friends, but I have a junior brother."

The senior sister’s purity almost made You Su forget her age; her demeanor was that of someone who lived alone on an immortal peak, unaware of the world—a celestial being detached from worldly matters. From birth, she was not a simple person; she always accompanied the Divine Mountain, so she could even be described as "born celestial," skipping the stage of humans seeking mountains to become immortals.

You Su was moved by Fairy Wangshu’s words. He dared not trust others easily and had no friends either; his junior sister was his greatest emotional anchor for those three years, so he deeply resonated with Fairy Wangshu’s sentiments when she said this.

"I also have no friends," You Su said with a gentle smile, "but I have a junior sister, and now I have a senior sister as well."

Fairy Wangshu’s body stiffened slightly, saying a soft "Hmm," still appearing emotionless, though her fair, jade-white hands resting on her lap inadvertently curled slightly into her skirt.

"Senior sister, let’s get back to the main topic. Why are you sleeping next to me?"

"Master said, during her seclusion, I should teach the junior brother the coursework on her behalf. She will evaluate when she comes out of seclusion."

"Did she say anything else?"

"She also said, I’m the senior sister, you’re the junior brother, so I should care for and protect the junior brother and get closer to you."

Sure, doesn’t a great mentor produce excellent disciples?

"Even if you want to get closer to your junior brother, you shouldn’t sleep next to me, you know? If I were the junior sister, maybe it’d be acceptable for you to do so." You Su sternly instructed.

Upon hearing this, Fairy Wangshu stared at You Su for a while. You Su felt uneasy under her gaze, thinking, is she planning to turn me into the junior sister?

"Is it because of gender differences?"

No, you figured it out, huh?

"Exactly, the senior sister needs to remember this. You are a woman, so you should keep a distance from all men, including the junior brother."

Fairy Wangshu paused briefly before suddenly asking: "If it’s gender differences, then why do you not keep distance from your junior sister, yet keep distance from me?"

You Su raised an eyebrow, surprised that the senior sister knew he didn’t keep distance from his junior sister, so he replied: "Because the junior sister, to me, is special."

You Su responded simply with "special," already envisioning trying to explain with complex emotions and love to the senior sister, only to be continuously questioned.

"Oh."

You Su sensed the senior sister’s somber tone and ended up feeling guilty, so he comforted her, saying, "Of course, the senior sister is special to me too."

"Hmm, the junior brother is also special." Fairy Wangshu quickly replied.

You Su felt dizzy and confused, reminiscent of trying to teach Ji Lingruo math problems that she could never grasp, subjected to her foolish mental assaults.

"Sure, special comes in different kinds, the junior sister’s specialness and the senior sister’s specialness to me are different."

"What’s the difference?" Fairy Wangshu persistently asked.

You Su couldn’t help but rub his forehead, unwilling to further complicate matters, he decided to say, "Senior sister, if interested, I will slowly tell you the stories between my junior sister and me, then you’ll understand."

"Hmm hmm." Fairy Wangshu responded for the first time with two hums.

"In any case, senior sister, if you want to get close to me, it cannot be done this way."

"Then what way should be used?"

"You can patiently teach me cultivation techniques, teach me swordsmanship, helping the junior brother pass Master’s evaluation. Among the same sect, mutual assistance is the best way to get close."

You Su intended to end this unsuccessful teaching session and instead have the senior sister impart knowledge to him.

Though talking about serious matters, You Su felt he was deceiving a good family. However, it was necessary; after all, he didn’t want Master to be disappointed when she finished her seclusion.

Fairy Wangshu nodded and took out two books from a delicate embroidered pouch by her waist, "Foundation of Cultivation" and "Sword Skill General Knowledge."

She opened one book, slowly reciting: "The sword is the elegant weapon among sophistication, possessing a righteous aura, a sharp edge in gentleness, communicating with the divine, and entering the profound..."

You Su didn’t expect her to go into teaching mode so quickly, somewhat caught off guard; her willingness to read word by word aloud was surely due to understanding his lack of sight.

He felt touched and didn’t want his senior sister to exert too much effort, so he reminded: "Senior sister, you don’t need to read aloud to me, I’ll keep it in the Qiankun Bag and can read it through my divine sense."

Sure enough, Wangshu stopped her reading and handed the book over.

You Su stored the book in the Qiankun Bag, scanned it with his divine sense, but was shocked to find the text was completely different from those evil cultivator texts.

The text in the evil cultivation books came naturally to him, yet he couldn’t understand the text in these righteous books!
