Chapter 230: Bloodshine Vs Mora (First Meeting)

Chapter 230: Bloodshine Vs Mora (First Meeting)

Soren turned to Bloodshine. "Others?"

She nodded.

Bloodshine’s Blackfield had more range than Soren’s.

If she was saying that they were others in this place, then it meant that they were, even though he could not sense them yet.

The question was; how far away were they from these people.

Soren’s Blackfield was a little around 50 meters in all directions.

The last time he asked Bloodshine, she had told him that hers was around 150 meters in all direction.

Soren quickly assumed the people she sensed were about a hundred meters away.

But she shook her head. "They are two hundred meters away. Three of them."

Soren’s eyes widened in surprise.

A response for both the extent her Blackfield had grown in such short amount of time, and the fact that they three people in tunnels.

"How... How did you grow your Blackfield so much in a short about of time?"

Bloodshine smiled to him. "I do nøt train a lot."

"Yeah... but what specific training do you...?"

"—come, there is nøt no time. Lets nøt follow them before they go too far." She tugged at his hand, pulling him along.

The tunnels were winding, but Soren maintained sure to remember them.

The deeper they went, the more pungent the smell.

And then, they began to see the green goo.

Soren was very familiar with it.

Ecto plasm.

Little streams of it flowed on the ground.

Soren and Bloodshine followed them to the source.

The tunnel opened up to a huge open space.

This was the source of the smell, and the green goo.

A good distance away, Soren coukd see them.

Three people.

One leading in front and two others following behind.

Even through the slowly rising green gas, soren recognized their figures.

The man with the three faced mask, and Vinegar.

But what caught his attention was the man leading them in front.

The short butler, Enrique.

"Soren maybe we should nøt go back. I like the feeling this place gives me." She shook head in obvious disgust.

"If you want to go back, I won’t stop you. But I can’t stop now."

Whatever is down there made a man, fused with an Eldritch creature go mad.

I must know what it is.

Soren jumped down and followed after them.

Meanwhile, Vinegar and the Caretaker arrived at a huge Ditch.

It was as wide as a football field, and the depth was entirely shrouded in cloudy green gasses.

"This is the items location, my lord Caretaker." Butler Enrique bowed politely.

"Hmmm..." the Caretaker echoed his satisfaction. "You have done well."

"Thank you, Caretaker. It is a privilege to serve the Master. " Enrique bowed again.

"I will go secure the item. Its no longer going to be safe here. Leave immediately."

"Of course, Caretaker." Enrique turned and left.

The Caretaker turned to Vinegar. "You, wait here."

Then with no hesitation, the Caretaker dove head first into the hole—swallowed by the green gasses.

As he did, his six eyes hiding behind his mask looked towards the angle Soren and Bloodshine were hiding.

—a smile stained the side of his lips.

Soren saw this as an opportunity.

Just as Enrique passed by his hiding spot, he moved, right hand to grab the man by his mouth, and the other to pull him into the darkness.

"If you make a sound, I slit your throat. Do you understand?" Soren whispered.

But Enrique did not respond. However, the moment he felt the cold soul steel against his neck, he nodded, swallowing hard.

"Good. Now tell me. Who was that man in the three faced mask, and what is he after?" Soren slowly removed his hand from the man’s mouth.

Enrique gave Soren a side look, as if the cadet had asked a stupid question.

"Man?... Just because he stands on two feet doesn’t make him a man."

"Then what is he?"

Enrique gave a creepy smile. "You are a whitey... your kind usually knows. What do you think he is?"

"I am playing a game of rhetorical questions with you." Soren pressed the blade futher against Enrique’s neck.

A few drops of blood leaked.

Enrique tried to lean away from the blade. "Okay... okay. They call him the Caretaker. A right hand of the Master, and a..."

Whoosh...

Blade flew...

It was fast. But Bloodshine had moved—waving her dagger just in time to parry the attack before it would slice off Enrique’s head.

Just ahead, perched on a rock.

Vinegar.

Her gaze on Soren was malicious.

Instantly, Soren pulled Enrique away. "Vinegar... you don’t have to do this. Come here. And we can talk it out."

Vinegar frowned. "I have nothing to talk with a murderer. And my name is Mora. The daughter of pain, and hate."

She moved.

Like a literal spring, spinning in the air, as two long knifes appeared on both arms.

Her movements were fluid and nearly beautiful, arriving right above Soren’s head, blades coming down in an arc supported purely by her rotation mid air.

If the attack shoukd land, Soren and Entirely would have their heads lobbied out of their necks like a golf stick hitting the ball.

But Bloodshine would never allow it.

She parried the attack. One blade with her issued dagger, and then kicking Vinegar in the belly.

The attack hit.

But Vinegar used the initia it provided to spin un the air and deliver two more attacks, before landing a few meters away.

Bloodshine also blocked it. Most of it. A blade had cut her uniform at the shoulder side.

She turned to the cut slightly. A frown evident on her face.

Cadets wore uniforms reinforced by Aether neurallinks.

Apart from helping during extreme temperatures, they also helped to boost one’s defense.

Bullets could not break through a cadet’s uniform.

But Mora’s daggers did.

Meaning she was using blades that were not just Soul–steel but also enhanced by Aether neurallinks.

Treasures.

Bloodshine’s gaze focused. "Do nøt Stay away from my husband."

Mora paused. "Husband?"
